Mosin Nagants are perfect rifles, and the cosmoline only adds to the authenticity. Spread it on crackers and masturbate with the bayonet.
>>34872880
do you stab the pointy end into your pp hole. or. do you affix the bayonet onto your pp shaft. hmm decisions.
>>34872972
the latter so i can be generous and let a girl know what the feeling of a mosin bayonet feels like
what are the pros and cons of having a gun with a shrouded hammer like the 638 vs an enclosed hammer revolver like the 642?
primarily ive been watching videos on ccw and firing from the pocket; a hammerless revolver completely eliminates the worry of the hammer catching on clothing while the shroud considerably removes that risk (while not being 100%). however, having a hammer allows for the possibility of single action.
pros/cons of each in your opinions? does either one have the slight tactical edge?
>>34872775
You can shoot that single action. It isn't as reliable as a 442 though.
The best of both worlds without being the best at either one. Seems pretty fucking cool. I know cocking a hammer is advised against in self defense scenarios but as one might imagine... Sometimes you NEED that much more precision, from a single action trigger break.
I had the 642 and a few other J frames. I like having the ability to fire in single action more then the ability to shoot through my own clothing.
Cleaning comes to mind and it is probably the most practical consideration. Those holes and groves will fill with lint and fibers.
>>34872775
In a defensive scenario, it will be extremely unlikely that single action will be necessary or preferable to you. It simply requires too many extra steps than double action, especially under pressure. However, if you are also buying the revolver for target shooting too, the single action could definitely come in handy.
One other note too is that lint SERIOUSLY collects in the shroud area of concealed hammer pistols, so you would want to check that frequently. Overall though, you're not going to be significantly disadvantaged with either choice, so get what appeals to you most
What are the chances of you crashing a helicopter if your co-pilot is experienced (decade+) and you're a greenhorn. We're talking like a standard surveillance copter like cops use.
>>34872723
Depends, how prone are you to panicking and what are the visibility/wind conditions?
>>34872723
Depend on if you are a fucking retard or not. My guess tho is that they dont let retards touch the stick.
>>34872723
Realistically very low. The fact that those two cops crashed during the protests was an extremely lucky coincidence.

How does one in modern combat get to use melee weapons?
Lets say you are behind a sniper and a spotter, they both have their dicks pressed on the ground and are looking trough the lenses, maybe then you can jump at them and massacre them, MAYBE.
Or maybe you are at a corner of a building, waiting for an enemy to run up to the corner, a yard away from you so you can swing and slash him on the spot.
Maybe, maybe someone is running away form you, without a gun and a wounded hand, you have yards away to kill him or let him run, or maybe you can trow a hatchet and kill him on the run.
Why isnt there any personal combat anymore?
>shooting at a general direction while waiting for a plane to decimate the area you are shooting
>im a war veteran and a hero, show some respect
>september pie
When is the last time a soldier slashed an enemies solders throat while sneaking to take a building, while taking out a sentry?
200 years ago, thats when.
There are no warriors on this earth anymore.
A warrior butchers his enemy with a hatchet, only then he earns PTSD

You're a faggot
Fpbp.
Because firearms are much more pleantiful and common that unarmed/melee CQC is pretty rare events now. And DESU, if someone is rushing a corner and your rifle is too long, sidearm and point blank. Unseathing a knife and trying to stab could end worse than just point blank pistol shooting.

Why didnt they bomb the survivors in 99 so that the world can breathe easily

Sup /k/. I'm going to buy a bow for fun and for if shit turns south and I need to hunt. Currently Im thinking a recurve bow with a 50lb draw weight will do just fine. My budget is well above the cost of this though, so Im wondering if I should go for a compound bow.
I have little experience with archery and what I do have is very old. The last time I shot I did pretty well all things considered.
Also im a nogunz because of NE and I'm a sadfag from time to time.
Pic is what is in my cart in the Cabela's online store right now. Link is: http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=1997870&categoryId=0&parentCategoryId=0&subCategoryId=0&indexId=0&itemGUID=e7b3b78cac10845466e685089c0322ef
What are your thoughts on A good bow for someone getting back into the sport. I'd say my max budget is $500 including some arrows and maybe a quiver, but thats less important.
Self bump. Also this is the compound bow I would be buying

Go buy a nice crossbow, sights and handling like a gun, less training needed to become proficient
>>34871921
I enjoy compound more but shoot both it's preference in the end. Go to an archery shop to get set up so they can show you a thing or 2 and fit the bow to your body it's not one size fits all.
Hey /k/ tell me what this be and is it valuable in any way, shape, or form.
my first instinct say its ww1 german style but let me search for it
sometype of mauser bayonet

>>34871657
I loved The Bouncer.
>>34871657
Form follows function.
By having the magazine in the grip, it is possible to have a reasonable barrel length without increasing overall length.
Trigger operated by forefinger allows thumb and other fingers to maintain grip on weapon and keep it pointed at target.
Etc.

So I'm in the market for a .22 pistol and was looking at getting either a Beretta Neos or Ruger Mk4. Both feel good in my hand. I like the space gun aesthetic of the Neos, but the super quick takedown on the Mk4 is also nice; I've also heard nothing but good things about the Mk4. I can get the Neos new for about 300, but the Rugers start at at least 400. So being the cheap bastard that I am, I started looking for used guns and haven't had much luck. Everyone seems to want MSRP or above even for used guns.
I did find a Mk3 Tactical going for 350 though, and it comes with an RMR-style red dot and a few hundred rounds of ammo. That seems like a great deal, but I've heard nothing but horror storied about taking apart and cleaning Mk3s, and a quick youtube search tells me that it is a hell of a lot more of a hassle compared to the Mk4. I'm also not really interested in the red dot truth be told, I'm getting this as a fundamentals practice gun and plan on just using irons.
tl;dr: Is 350 a good price for a used Ruger Mk3 Tactical with a red dot (which I will probably remove) and a few hundred rounds of ammo or am I better off buying a Neos new for less or spending a little more for a MK4. I have no plans to suppress it.
the neo is just ok, the grip is too small imo and even though you can replace it, they dont sell a larger grip for whatever reason.
as far as 3 vs 4, id rather pay more for the 4
>>34871644
you can also build your own 22/45 if you feel like dropping some cash. might end up better off in the long run with all the custom shit you can do.
If you get anything Ruger, try to do a serial search for something pre-2012. QC went down the shitter about that time, especially on their triggers.
Beretta is solid. The Neos is one of the better .22's you can get, but I just don't like the lines.
I never owned a gun before, but with the way things are going, now is the time... decided to build an AR-15 to keep with me. I decided to build over buy because it seems like a really fun thing to learn and do, and also I'll be intimately familiar with the firearm and its workings, so it's a win-win.
That leads me to my question.... what makes an AR-15 (or its components rather) "good?" Is it simply highest strength alloys for durability, and lightest weight of components? I want to build a reliable, comfortable to use SHTF rifle. It probably won't ever be used outside of 100 yards... it would be for home defense (or whatever situations may pop up in the future...)
>>34871599
I forgot to mention, I can go up to $1500 or so budget-wise. It can go higher if its a good enough reason.
>>34871599
>I want to build a reliable, comfortable to use SHTF rifle
an M16 built
fixed stock, full length buffer tube, rifle gas system is the most reliable, comfortable combination
anything else is your choice
It's light, ergonomic and accurate right out of the box. Ammo is cheap and you can get an optimal barrel for any load you want to shoot. Also, it's more modular than any other rifle I know of.
alright /k/, you're sitting at a hotel and some unknown person informs you that a small group of lightly armed men have covertly surrounded the hotel and are coming inside to kill you.
He gives you no further information.
how would you evade them?
>think he is joking
>die
>>34871520
>go to bathroom
>take off hat
>take off sunglasses
>flip coat inside out
>cut goatee as short as i can with a pocket knife
>walk out
>leave while they are sill looking for the guy in a camo coat
should work as long as they don't have me inder constant surveillance. if they do than there is no move and i'm already screwed
Bribe one of the cleaning ladys to let me hide in the laundry hamper, have her wheel me to a fire exit at the back of the building, leave the building that way.
