normie translation:
DNS is like a telephone book
lookup name -> get phone number to call
every lookup requires an ip address to return the results
someone has been looking up mail1.trump-email.com
and claiming their return address belongs to Russian Alfa-Bank
BUT
the address originating the lookup is not the Russian bank's
It's like prank calling from your cell phone and claiming to be a Russian hacker
The person receiving the prank call has your cell phone number
(or can get it from your cell phone provider)
and can find out you are NOT a Russian Hacker
in this case the server performing the lookup was Cendyn

DEVASTATING.
Red Herring smokescreen. Drumpf's a traitor.
Won't work.
Everyone's already been doubly red pilled about Russian fake news.
Enjoy your Russian economy, its going to tank once the US solidifies its evidence and fucks up Russian economy even harder.

Go away troll
h-hi friends
I bought this pre-built PC for cheap off of craigslist
and the guy told me the PC will ask to activate in 90 days, well 2 months later its getting close.
Do i just need to buy any Windows 10 key?
in b4 install Gentoo
install gentoo
install manjaro
>>59640307
install ubuntu
>Windows: open like two installers, run them, never have a problem again
>Linux: hardware manufacturer doesn't even make drivers for it, need to spend 5 plus hours scouring forums and stackexchange to even get a temporary fix that will revert when you power off
Why does anyone use this fucking garbage? They need to make it more accessible for people who actually value their time and don't have insane levels of autism.
>Linux: plug the hardware in, it just works automatically every single time
>Autism==Knowing shit about computer
>>59640271
THIS!
Linux is a timesink OS for NEETs who need to prove they have some kind of worth in the world. They spend their days solving software puzzles to complete the same task that everyone else does without thinking.
Considering buying a portable HDD
What should I pick?
1TB is more than enough.
Well, enjoy having the moving parts break.
Why not just buy a portable blu-ray player?
Your data will be much much safer that way and even verbatim blu-rays are like $2/50GB disc when you buy the large spindle.

How does that or how would that happen though?
I just disagree with some of their policies. Bill Gates is actually a real nice guy who gives lots of money to charities and has done some remarkable things for impoverished people.
I just can't help to think of them as somewhat of a dinosaur. I'm not entirely sure if they divested themselves of their Intel and Pentium holdings, or if MS is still owned by IBM as a holding company, but more and more Microsoft is starting to look like a dinosaur.
They two year software cycle on most of their products is an outmoded idea, the pressure to constantly innovate has led them to reinvent the wheel. There is nothing wrong with MS word, excel, and outlook, but there really isn't much left to improve upon. They do their job adequately without the need to pay for yearly updates to Office 360.
I love windows 7. It has so many god damn features that I've been working with it for years and haven't found them all. I just didn't care for the "dumbed down" metro look of windows 8 or the invasive ai assistance in Windows 10.
I don't want to switch to Linux but Windows 10 doesn't offer me anything I actually want, it just cuts me off from support from features I already use or new features I want to implement in Windows 7.
Windows should really just start cashing in on its properties and lobby for government dosh to maintain their programs.
They are already essential to the administrative infrastructure of our government, just like we have sewer mainframes and utilities that still run on UNIX, most contemporary office and publishing software uses MS office products.
The logic is sound, "Why fix something if it ain't broke?"
>>59639947
Also, I don't know why MS hasn't gobbled up Quicken / Turbo Tax
Just to reiterate, I don't hate microsoft, I just wish they would stop trying to reinvent the wheel.
Don't hate Pajeet. Hate the street poo.
Why do tech companies insist with this type of packaging? They're a fucking nightmare to open and once opened, useless. Also, isn't an old fashioned cardboard box cheaper for companies to manufacture? As well as environmental friendly. Name 12 advantages of this type of packaging
>>59639916
Just use this OP
Google it you dumb fuck
>>59639916
This is one bad example of a picture OP.
This one has a small tab on the side of the package to rip it open easily.
Why did everything so terribly wrong for Android OS?
>>59639811
It's literally the best mobile OS currently. The only thing wrong with it is java apps.
>>59639855
Sailfish is better. Maemo/Meego was better.

Hm...
Living in utopia where robots work for you and you just fixing them or improving software its using is horrible?
Really makes you think.
Don't fall for memes, OP. These corporations would replace their human staff with robots if it was even 1c cheaper over a decade.

I worked in a company that was completely Dilbertized. It's scary how real these comics are.
very, but my tie is flaccid :(
I was reading his book a few months ago and he kept bringing up being promoted until he hit something called the "diversity ceiling" in what would have been the mid to late 80s, before starting his comics. I'm sure there's diversity ceilings these days but in the 80s? Is he making shit up or can anyone confirm?
>you buy 1TB (1000GB) HDD
>you get 931GBs instead
Why the fuck is this allowed?
>>59639342
Windows and Hard drive makers use different ways of measuring 1TB

Don't you buy 1000GB but Windows displays it as 1000GiB ?
