So, earlier I bought new RAM to install inside my pc. When I installed it and boot up the pc, it just goes into an infinite black screen. I tried putting back the old ram to see, and same issue. So right now, I can't boot up windows or anything

I can Access BIOS tho, tried setting it to XMP, reset the CMOS, made sure the RAMs are well place and clipped. I'm out of ideas. help?

My specs:
Motherboard is Asus P8Z77-V LX
New Ram was Corsair Vengeance Black DDR3 1600MHz 16GB Kit (2x8GB) CL9 1.5V CMZ16GX3M2A1600C9
Old ram was Ballistix DDR3 1600 MHz 8gb 1.5V

Am I fucked? I'm opened to ideas.

Pic related, the new rams

So I'm gonna check out FreeBSD, while its downloading, thought i'd get /g/'s opinion on it.

From the little I read I gather its sorta like Debian or Arch (maybe Gentoo, I've never used Gentoo), in that you download a base system, and everything else is extra that needs to be made. (ya I know apt and pacman, I guess use binaries)

Is it less Bot_Net() than Linux?, that's probably a dumb way to word my question, but I mean like the base is old af right?, stuff like systemD gets a lot of flak for getting its fingers in everything, possibly making a huge target potential malice.

any other thoughts?

>Is it less Bot_Net() than Linux?, that's probably a dumb way to word my question, but I mean like the base is old af right?
well it is old but people are working on it you know

still though, a lot less servers running BSD stuff means its less likely to be botnetted

also i'm pretty sure in debian literally every part of the operating system is a package, this is probably why updates can sometimes uninstall your entire OS by accident

Very bad security record.

If you want to go tinfoil mode, use OpenBSD. It's actually pretty cool. Otherwise Linux is always good.

The benefit is not having to worry about the underlying OS or any maintenance that goes along with it like patching, deployments etc.

Whether it is worth it depends on your workload and the design of your service, as does the choice of provider. Know your requirements and see which fits best for pricing and your needs.
>>
>>59645334
No. It's retarded.

It's like the old days where you would write some shit-tier pajeet php code and upload to shitty shared hosting with FTP.

Same deal here, apart from now you write untested fucking javascript and are billed per request.

The old Apache/CGI model is shit and we create proper servers now. Don't go back to the dark ages and learn how to implement a goddamn app server.

We've come full fucking circle if this gains any significant market share.

I'm on my first year of CS and I have an idea for a new tinder kind of app.

Basically my idea is like tinder meets facebook, what this mean is that beyond seeking people near, you find people with similar interest and hobbies as you.

I have find ugly or average males have no chance on tinder, like myself, so I think girls would like more an app to find potential partners based on tastes rather than a first physical impression.

I do think tinder don't let you seek potential long term partners and facebook doesn't let you seek new friends that live near you.
