Just bought 2 old pc's for $15, they both have windows xp installed on them, one has a 60gb hdd and one has a 120gb hdd, each pc has like like 1 ram, from 2002. What should I do with them? They both power on a work. I was thinking about like a dedicated PC for some linux variant or tails.
Ideas?
Install Gentoo
what a waste of time

Put them in the fucking garbage
What do you think about Bitbucket? It's a good alternative to GitHub?
i use it only for private repos
>>61249157
Don't see the point. If you need some web UI thing, host your own with gitbucket or gitlab.
>>61249157
What's wrong with GitHub?
I'll just leave this here...
131.104.178.26
Printer web interface from a University of Guelph network.
why?

There are other anons on /g/ that go there?
I've had this crap on my computer for years, along with MalwareBytes Pro. I also have uBlock on my browser.
Will I be safe with ditching AVG? I don't even go on "sketchy" sites, btw.
>>61248944
Stop using garbage like antivirus programs. They are useless.
>>61248956
I know, that's why I wanna purge my pc from all this crap if I don't even need it. I like MalwareBytes though.
Install Common Sense 2018.
A guy was throwing out like 20 of what looks to be security camera boxes so I grabbed them in hopes of some free sata cables, fans and hopefully harddrives.
Is there any use to them other than parting them out? The camera input uses some weird connector Ive never seen before.
>>61248901
>some weird connector Ive never seen before
BNC, used to be used for networking back in the day
anyways you can maybe sell them or use them if the drives aren't dead if you buy some cameras
>>61248901
Got one harddrive so far, but its locked in some external cage.
>>61248922
That's called a caddy, also you have to be 18+ to post on this site.
Can't see a screenfetch thread.
Post desktops / screenfetch / neofetch / vrms etc.

I have a problem, my work uses PDF's that are password protected for paystubs. I just got let go and I forgot the password to mine.
Is there a way to get past the password system using the file alone? My ex job isnt helping with this issue and I dont know who else to ask.
Give it back, Tyrone.
>I forgot the password to mine
>I just got let go
Wow how amazing, something you'd have been using for the entire length of your employment JUST slipped your mind? No way!

Yes

> Wow how amazing, something you'd have been using for the entire length of your employment JUST slipped your mind? No way!
I never used them before besides 1 time....I just downloaded them to keep on my files. Didnt expect to be let go, and my old job isnt helping with it. Lastly the job was only 6 months so it wasnt that long.
ill be a CIS major starting this fall. I have enough money to buy either a pc or mac. I know CIS is not like a computer science major, i wont be running very heavy duty systems, which usually requires a pc. Im really leaning towards buying myself a macbook for starting off in the fall. But i really dont know whats more reliable. Help pls. Pls.
As long as you get a PC from a brand not notorious for hardware failures (cough cough HP cough) then you can expect similar reliability. You'll break it if you treat it poorly and it'll last if you're careful.

Just get a decent used chinkpad, should be more than powerful enough
install gentoo

When will they stop with this meme it's legit illegal like the fuck these people want?
>>61247860
Yeah they need to stop excluding factors that determine the lower pay and when it comes to equal factors the difference is 4 cents which is practically nothing
Hi guys.
When taking out my GPU, my screwdriver skipped (using a screwdriver because my CPU cooler is so huge i can't get my fingers to reach the release;whitch also got wrecked).
The black "shell" that cover the metal part under broke in many pieces. Should i be worried?
No.
It just helps the air flow and make the card look better.
Be more careful next time.
>>61247740
lol what a retard
>>61247778
Thank you.
The capacitor nearby got a small bump on it, but not leaking or anything, should i worry about that though?

Anyway, I can't find any free VNC client for Android that supports ALTgr on a physical keyboard. Do you know of such client? I can't input ł,ż,ź,ć,ó,ą or ę on my newly installed Linux.

Why is /g/ so autistic to only compare languages on their superficial levels instead of their runtime environment purposes and uses?
>>61248130
because newfriends think it's funny to post such incredible bait
>>61248155
Huh. Well I guess I get trolled decently often then.
I just feel like compare Java and C# and Ruby to each other: they at least all do Web frameworks in some compacity.
Hurr durr is Haskell or Typescript better??? I feel like so many people just talk about languages so interchangeably it pisses me off
