I want to hug it and pet it til it purrs

I can't keep chickens around here because mountain lions WILL come. Keeping geese and a pond might be good enough to keep away coyotes. Lions really are something else, though.

Thought this was a toadline from the catalog image honestly
I absolutely love trees and I got my own property pretty much to plant lovely trees
Today I was tree browsing and was charmed by a handsome golden willow (pic related), willows are my all-time favorite tree and I could not wait to get that bad moffoe in the ground and dreamed about having a massive willow hanging over my house.
Now that the tree is planted i'm reading lots of stuff on the internet about how willows are the most awful tree and they have no place in a neighborhood, although there were lots around when I was growing up.
I planted the tree about 20 feet away from my house which I thought was plenty of room but some people are saying it will destroy everything within 100 feet and break all of your pipes.
Does anyone have any experience with large willows? Should I get rid of it now? or is it not really that bad?
>>2452590
i wouldn't worry about it.

Anybody here planted a pawpaw tree? I've got one and I'm not sure where I want to put it. Seems to be an understory tree but I don't want to plant them in the woods.

You need two to get pawpaws. They like shade so yeah the very edge of a treeline
Wondering if anyone knows a way to make insects/beetles already found dead pliable/posable for display?
it's just a fig eater beetle, but when their wings are spread they are beautiful. I'd love to find a way to do that.

it's really hard to pin and pose dead insects because of the lack of moisture and hardening of the joints, but you can try. when i had entomology classes i'd scavenge dead bugs for the collections and i'd say i had about a 50% rate of success. the fresher the better, work slow and gentle to pose and open the legs and wings.
>Tupperware box
>Paper towels on the bottom
>a bit of water and vinegar
>place bug in the papertowel
>close the lid tightly
Wait 1-7 days
perfectly plyable again, that's what I do when I get dead beetles in (and they were often collected a few months ago, depending on species)
>at church youth group
>dad texts me to tell me we need to leave church
>on way out he tells me my dog was attacked by a pitbull and another dog in our neighborhood
>bleeding
>we need to bring her to a vet
Fuck pitbulls and even more so fuck their shitty irresponsible owners
Wouldn't it just be normal church group that 18+ people go to?
>>2452433
Youth means 13-21 at my church
>>2452431
You can only blame the owners for lacking responsibility. Even if you think pittbulls are aggressive, demonic helldogs it is still the owners job to keep the animal in-line. I hope they cover your bill, I had a similar experience and they paid as an apology.
Rate my doggo. I honestly don't know what her breed is since she was adopted and I'm too lazy to DNA test.

looks like my sister's dog, do I guess she's affectionate, but barks at any provocation wether real or imagined.
either way super cute, anon.
>>2452392
looks like maltese or malti-poop
I give her an 8/10. I have one just like her.
Your doggo looks like a blithering idiot in a cute way

This is my enclosure for my bearded dragon named Sasha. I have a sand mat, which is a reptile carpet fashioned to look like sand. She has a hide, which is located under the purple heat lamp (which is usually on) so that she can stay nice and warm, and if she needs to she can climb on top. I hand feed her daily with crickets dusted with either flukers repti-cal or reptimin, and the crickets are kept alive with the flukers orange cubes. The crickets are held in a ten gallon tank. Her tank is a 20 gallon, and as she grows I will eventually get a 50 gallon for her. I bathe her weekly and mist her once daily with water treated with repti-safe. I. just recently cleaned her mat off, and I don't use chemicals or soap when cleaning it. I also wiped the inside of her enclosure a little bit with water. She gets handled often.
Is there anything I can do to ensure that she's more happy and healthy? I've raised reptiles with my dad before but this is my. first one that I'm doing on my own. Any input is appreciated, thanks.

>Is there anything I can do to ensure that she's more happy and healthy?
handle it less.
>>2452247
This is her lighting arrangement.
>>2452250
I usually only hold her when I need to clean out her enclosure or for when I'm feeding her.

>>2452220
I have many more in the SE corner of my garage.
Recluses are gud bois. Kept a few L. arizonica years ago. They're shy and they can capture large prey. Would keep again. A+ spider.

Is dat a working class chinese sharpe OP?
Hey, /an/
On my walk to work a few weeks ago I came across a dead squirrel in tne sidewalk. Except this squirrel was pretty big, had absolutely no hair, and was bright pink. I wish I took pictures. What was wrong with it? Why was it like that? It had no signs of trauma so it's not like someone skinned it and tossed it to explain the hairlessness.
Location NJ
Lots of things can lose their hair if they get a skin disease. Pic is a black bear.
>>2452105
Yeah, but this thing was BRIGHT pink. OP pic is a hairless squirrel and his skin is grey like his fur would be.
>>2452100
How do you KNOW it was a squirrel and not a baby jersey devil
24/7 livestreamed virtual reality safari, from anywhere in the world.
Because zoos aren't great for saving large migratory animals and people just want to stare at animals anyway.
Someone take this idea and run with it in case something bad happens to me before I can.
>>2451998
And also because nature documentaries are more like a piece of art than an accurate depiction of the wild, as hard as they try to be the latter also.
>>2451998
What'll be next? 24/7 livestreamed VR forests, jungles, grasslands, savannas?
This is some species of wasp right? Little fucking bastard stung me on my way into the house.
Southern Nevada in the US BTW.
It looks like a wasp but I'm reasonably sure it didn't sting you.
>>2452222
Well the shit bit my neck or something and I swatted it
One of those huh, you're in for a fun 2 weeks
I may sound stupid asking this but every dog's got fleas here and there right? His fur is so thick I can't really tell
you should flea your dog once a month
>>2451807
I cant outrun him
>>2451790
>every dog has fleas
