Hey, /an/
On my walk to work a few weeks ago I came across a dead squirrel in tne sidewalk. Except this squirrel was pretty big, had absolutely no hair, and was bright pink. I wish I took pictures. What was wrong with it? Why was it like that? It had no signs of trauma so it's not like someone skinned it and tossed it to explain the hairlessness.
Location NJ
Lots of things can lose their hair if they get a skin disease. Pic is a black bear.

Yeah, but this thing was BRIGHT pink. OP pic is a hairless squirrel and his skin is grey like his fur would be.

How do you KNOW it was a squirrel and not a baby jersey devil

Was it eyes open? What color was it's eyes? Was it's skin pretty shitty looking with scabs?
I never saw an albino squirrel in NJ but I saw a ton of melanistic ones. It's skin could have been raw or sunburned.

Probably just sunburn then. It only takes a few minutes for a lot of people to get sunburn, much less on an area that is usually covered and protected from the sun. Even though it was dead, it was still cooking.
