I've tried this before and ultimately stopped because it's kind of mean. When cats use the toilet, they have to spread out their legs and balance. This is OK for peeing, but when they poop they don't have as good of control over their back legs because they strain to poop. This can cause them to fall into the toilet while pooping, or make them eliminate elswhere because they don't feel safe or comfortable pooping in the toilet. There are a few ways around this, you can get a special kind of wooden seat that's large and flay, but then people can't really use it. Alternatively you could also have a litter box with the intention of the cat peeing in the toilet and pooping in the litter box. I tried the latter, and found that my cat would only use the litter box and never the toilet. So I just reverted back to a litter box since my cat seemed to like to use it more anyway

Hey /an/. I got some bad feels. Our dog Marty McFly got out of our backyard this morning and ran into the street and was hit. An old man was trying to get him out of the street but failed and when he was hit he dragged him over onto the shoulder.
I had to pick him up (entrails were spilt out) and put him into a box and we just left the humane society as we're are getting him cremated.
He was a rescued dog. He spent 4-5 years of his life inside a cage in a hoarders house. We gave him a home and he loved us and he loved the hell out of my mom.
He wasn't eating as of recent and shook more so than usual. He was getting wary of me and my mother so I knew something was wrong. I think he was depressed and suicidal.
Anyways... Thanks for reading.

Thanks, man. I salvaged his collar while I was sitting on the side of the road with him. I pet his head even though he couldn't feel it. I apologized to him for being mean and I'm getting teary thinking about it now.

This webm has been posted before, an anon experienced in reptiles explained that it was mating behavior, and supplied links to back up the claim. I was really bored and checked them out, but I don't remember anything about them being horny all the time however, but I guess it's possible.

sometimes when my cat's visiting with me he'll lightly bite me. Why does he do that? He'll be purring and laying on my chest and I'll go to pet him and he'll nip my finger and then rub up against me. It's not like an aggressive thing but I don't know why he's doing it.

Has /an/ ever put down a pet?
I have a cat thats about 21 years old. She lost a ton of weight and looks very raggedy. She lost both front canines and can no longer groom herself properly. Shes starting to step in her own shit in the kitty litter and is trekking it in the house.
I've thought about maybe putting her down but my mom is against the idea.
Thoughts?

Does your cat still have a good quality of life? Is she in pain or just not happy? These are things to consider. Many animals in their old age (and 21 for a cat is extremely old, equivalent of over 100 for a person) stop grooming themselves, so that in itself is not enough to have them put down. Is she still eating well (even with missing teeth)? Does she still seem aware of her surroundings and what is going on? If she still seems to be "with it" then I'd say hold on, but if there are clear and obvious signs of pain or mental deterioration then take all that into account to assess her quality of life.

My dog is getting very old. I expect her to die in 0-4 years from now. I will have a doctor put her down when the time comes.
I have decided to bury her myself. I have looked up remote spot in the woods to do it. I have check that the grave should not be disrupted in next 15 years or more. There is no danger of common water getting infected because of the corpse.
I have a good shovel to do it and i know where to get few big stones to cover the corpse.
Has anyone here buried their own dog?
How deep should i bury her?
What is the white stuff they spread over dead humans when they made mass graves and why do they do it?

That white stuff is lime. You can get a sack at a hardware store, it cuts down on smell and speeds decay a bit. Serial killers sometimes use it on bodies they leave around.

Are they really good for the environment? They obviously claim to be, but how can I know to trust them? Like just going by names PETA sounds like a good organization, but we know they're actually shady and crazy with some stuff. I feel like such a big government group like the EPA has to be up to something shady, but I don't want to be too hasty.
