Hey /adv/, So I've been in the Pre-nursing program for about 3 years now, and I'm a horrible fucking student, and typically a B/C-student type guy.

thing is that doesn't fuckin cut it for Nursing programs.

I still want to help people in the medical field and make decent money while doing it- I'm not raising kids or anything or planning to anytime soon, but I'd like to make enough to afford a decent place and vidya/nice things.

I've thought about becoming an EMT/Paramedic and moving to an inner city somewhere where they're needed and paid more (I'm in backwater alabama- hurr incest etc)

any EMT/Paramedics around got some advice to help me out? I'd appreciate it

My girlfriend started taking anti depressants when she was 14, because she was "depressed". It is my belief that her psychology major family saw a sad 14 year old girl (whats new) and sent her to therapy, in which she showed the symptoms of depression. I don't know anything about how this medicine works, but I am pretty strong armed in my beliefs. Because of this, I doubt the credibility of some of the more popular mental illnesses most of the time. I feel as if my girlfriend's family pushed on her the concept of getting prescription medicine, and she used it as a crutch instead of developing coping skills to handle teenage level stress. Now she is 17, and has the emotional strength of a 13 year old. We have been dating for 7 months and she got off of her antidepressants like 4 months ago. Things as of lately have gotten harder on us because she is starting to just get really fucked up emotionally whenever we argue. Her mom recommended her get back on medication, and she is considering it. I am conflicted because I feel like I have failed to make her happy, and I don't want to be in love with a pill. She has told me that I should look at it like any other medicine in the fact that its making her healthier, but I am just really confused. She isn't like addicted to them, the reason she stopped is because she just forgot to take them and then assumed she didn't really need to.

How do you find where to buy weed when you move to a different city?

I moved a few months back, and I've been going to my old city to score weed, but I'm tired of it cause it's a good hour drive one way.

Also I should mention I'm an Eurofag, only 2 blacks live in this city, so I can't just got around asking.

I have feeling for this girl, but I really don't want to tell her because I've been hurt before. I think she feels the same. The thing is we haven't had sex and I really don't want to come across as some kind of emotional cuck faggot to her. So I'd rather keep my guard up, but I think I've started to push her away.

So im concerned about going on a date I'm 22 and when I think about a date I have a fear that I'll run outta things to talk to if we're at a dinner table talking. I don't wanna just sit there but I don't wanna just ask questions all night idk what to do. Like I honestly don't even go out with just one other friend for food because I feel like we will run out of things to talk about. Hanging out is fine for me I hungout with friends before just me and then and it's fine but I feel like eating food and just sitting there will be an issue for me.

Can not stay calm when I go to the streets. People fear me and I fear them. I fear that in my future I get caught by some mafia/gangs without even messing with them. I fear that I might get fired from my future job and that people will just use for their necessities instead of genuinely wanting to be my friend or else. Can not sleep. I fear that, no matter if I have a quality life, I fear fucking everything. I do not tolerate these pessimistic thoughts. Even with sport and hobbies, the thoughts can not go away. What can I do?

Is it worth it to date someone much older than you, who has no kids or other family, and will most likely die within the next 10 years?

It might sound off but I have been passively seeing someone who is much older than me.
I like them as a person, and their professional interest align with mine very well.

This is essentially golddigging first, relationship second.

My main thoughts are, that I don't really mind age,and if I could somehow inherit a full time savings and earnings of a successful business owner, in just a few years, I would largely be set.

One time, she discussed marriage, as she would want me to be comfortable even when her heart will some day give in, as she dropped the bomb about having a heard condition a little while back.

Is it worth it? I personally feel like it very much is.

Hello all, I've just been offered a job as a dishwasher at a place where hospitality is a specialty if you know what I mean. The thing is, I've never worked before and am pretty young and I'm afraid I won't be able to handle it after so many people have told me I would be miserable first day in. This is a full time job and am supposed to meet the staff tomorrow to discuss the position and see the people involved. Am I making a mistake? I don't want to quit only a month going in and I didn't originally apply for this job. I got in because I was recommended but I don't want to make that person look bad either. What should I do should I cancel right now?

Any advice for trying to date an older woman?

I'm 26 and she is going on 37.

I've never been so immediately and powerfully infatuated by someone before. I see her on average twice a week and I've long since broken the first barrier in terms of talking to her from time to time, mostly small talk though.

I want to ask her out, but I'm afraid of the disparities in our lives - she has been married once before whereas I have scant relationship experience and she is settled in a career whereas I am still trying to formulate a longer term plan for myself and I'm worried those things might put her off before I even get a chance to know her well.
Some may say those are trivial matters that needn't be worried about, and they may be right, but nonetheless it is hard to shake that concern.

>Going through yet ANOTHER school for retraining is out of the question, literally no reserves left both financially and mentally

So I had a date last week with a girl, and I thought it went really well. Just talking about the movies and books we've read. She had a interest in meeting up again. But then after that text, I heard nothing from her until today about a week and a half later. We've mostly kept in contact through e-mail.

She said her 5 year old laptop broke and it made her emails late.The thing is she could have texted me if that was the case. I take it as a lame excuse. Should I let it go or keep talking with her?

tl;dr Girl stopped contact after a week after date but then came back claiming their computer broke when they could of texted me. What do?

Im currently a freshman at pic related. Is a Computer Engineering degree worth it? I picked it over comp sci, because I felt that the comp sci bubble can't last much longer.
