You can charge them with a 12v charger, provided you put it across each pair of batteries in turn. You don't have to disconnect them from each other, so long as there are connection points for the charger.

To charge the whole array at once, you need a 48v charger.

If you know that the line is 33 units long use that to know the y and x on the right image. Then make the rotation point the origin and parametrize the extremes accordingly, break the problem into two triangles, one above the new origin and one below. Then see what information you can gather from those triangles and if the problem can be solved there should be some kind of consistency between something something. I'm too lazy to do it, tell me if it works or whatever.

anyway the system of equations you need to solve is
- (33 - Y) * sin(θ) = -11
Y * [1 - cos(θ)] = 8
one possible solution for this is roughly θ = 2.75 rads and Y = 4.175, and I suspect existence of another solution but am too lazy to check.

Depends on the Chromebook, some of the older ones no but a lot of the newer ones you have various options.

1. Use crouton
2. Dual boot (Not recommended due to SSD space)
3. Install a Linux distro over the ChromeOS

The 3rd option is a little "harder" in that you usually have to go to the laptops motherboard and remove a sticker or so. Then flash some new BIOS.

I suggest GalliumOS, as it's a distro made specifically for Chromebooks. Here's a list of supported devices.
