Serious question: the Chrono Trigger cartridge I've had since the early 2000s says "Made in Mexico". Is this a bootleg?
It's normal for carts of that age. I had plenty of legit Genesis games stamped with "Made in Japan, assembled in Mexico" or the like. If you drive a Chevy or a Nissan it's likely it was assembled in Mexico too, haha.

Made in Mexico was the Made in China of the 90s, so you're safe
Looking for comfy PC games to play at work (games where sound isn't important)
Any indie shit
Don't play games at work, your boss will be pissed.

Tetris.
Who is the best Chrono Trigger villain and why is it Ozzie?
>>3337801
>fapped to Flea when younger

>makes post about ozzy being best when he was literally pants on head retarded.
Op, why?

JUST LIKE THE WIND

Better
Worst part of the game easily
>mfw I like the song
Just super nostalgic, kind of reminds me of Dreams Dreams. Shitty nineties R&B is the best way to end a game.
This is more fun than any modern game I've played. I'm not just talking about this century.
This is more fun than any, PS1,Xbox,Gamecube, PS2,360,PS3,PS4,Xbox one, Wii, Wii U, Ouya, Ios, Android game I've ever played.
My god, this is just magical.

How many cat statues have you collected?
I was missing about four of them seeing that as soon as I got Sasuke's rocket jump I forgot to go back to the submarine. Oh well.

try Brave Fencer Musashi on PS1 though. they are a bit similar.
So I have this old tv that I have no idea what to do with. It only picks up radio transmissions and static.
I was thinking of keeping it in case I ever pick up an Atari because it has the hooks in the back. So /vr/ what do you think I should do with it?
Here's a pic of the back with all the hooks.
Also CRT general. Let me see what your setups look like
Unless you plan on using RGB/component you may as well use that tv. Composite isn't any better than RF. Get an RF modulator if you don't have an RF unit.

I'd love to have that. Manual tuning and shit I am too young to have ever experienced.
Why does the RetroN 5 and similar consoles have to emulate the mappers? They need to run from the cartridges anyway, so why not use the actual chips in the cartridge?
>>3337245
>They need to run from the cartridges anyway
they dont
all the retron 5 does is pull the rom off the cartridge and emulates it
Because they aren't real consoles. The hardware emulates the console. Since their console only pulls the ROM data, they need to replicate the proper mapper or the game won't run.
>>3337252
Well, can't it still let the actual mapper chip do what a mapper is supposed to?
YOU MUST PLAY SEGA SATURN
Sega Saturn>N64>PlayStation

>N64>PlayStation
Faker.
The real Segata would put PSX over N64 because N64 has jack shit for arcade games.
Let's ignore the spammer and discuss this fine console.
What are you guys playing tonight?
Which funtastic color is your favorite?
What are your thoughts on MK Trilogy vs. Killer Instinct Gold?
>>3337095
No it's not, thread is merely a general. So what cart is in your 64 tonight anon?

Why can't Rare make great games like that anymore? It's such a shame...
>>3336565
>customizable characters
>customizable weapon spawns
>up to 8 bots playing + 4 players
>colored based teams
>weapon often have 2 modes that do something entirely different.
>different bot difficulties and personalities
>badass weapons
>weapon reload animations
>medal award system to show off
This game was ages ahead of its time. Games today rarely have the 2nd weapon mode and any less the bot personality and the such... why gaming have become so shitty?

Sounds a lot like Timesplitters, wait...

Because they've been stifled and killed by MS, forced to make Kinect games and Viva Pinata.
Nintendo and Rare was Lennon and McCartney.
Who's playing this today?
I play it every day of my life, OP. That's what being American is all about.
Not me, but I did finish replaying Day of the Tentacle.
>>3336548
YOU HAD FUCKING BETTER, FAGGOT!
Did /vr/ play this game? I just picked it up at the local retro gaming store. I just found out there's a glitch where you can easily get through that stairwell stage easier. Anyone try it?
Big fan of 2600/MD Ghostbusters, Genesis Ghostbusters AND 7th gen Ghostbusters but never played this one.
epic meme bro
Namco arcade thread
Pac & Pal is one of the more unknown Pac-Man games. Like in Super Pac-Man, you have to open gates by eating keys (cards this time). A new feature is items that you can use to stun the ghosts, like the capture beam from Galaga, and the smoke screen from Rally-X. It's a lot of fun.
I remember playing this on Namco Museum Megamix, pretty fun.
Anybody remember pic related?
I just got a PSN card and bought all 5 volumes.
Volume 4 is downloading right now, can't wait to play muh Tower of Duraga
Is it weird I actually like Pac & Pal and Super Pac-Man quite a lot? Everybody brings them up as examples of Midway/Namco whoring out the license but I think they're pretty fun. I won't argue for Professor Pac-Man, though.
Dragon Buster.
N64 emulation is great.
>>3336326
>Emulation
There are only a handful of good games for the 64, you might as well just buy a cheap ass Japanese one, get a US power supply and a chink flash cart (or find the games at a garage sale and cut the tabs).
That's only like $50-100 if you look around. Emulation is shit and complaining about it isn't going to make the devs improve it.
>>3336326
Can anyone shed any light on the technical reasons why that's happening?
