ITT: Objectively terrible games that you like, and the reason you like them regardless.
I actually really like Sonic R, in spite of the terrible controls, the graphics are very nice for their time and have a very vibrant colour pallete, and the soundtrack is upbeat and very catchy. I also like the multiple paths through each stage, as well as unlocking new characters and collecting the chaos emeralds. I would never say this game is good, but I have a lot of nostalgia for it and I think the good parts of the game make it worth playing.

also it's the only sonic racing game that actually makes sense, (almost) everybody running instead of using vehicles

Aka the dank eceleb opinion thread.

Hey guys, im trying to play my super nintendo on my hd tv using rgb. I've looked around and it seems that the best way (other than the framemaster) is to get a scart cable and a scart to component adapter to get the best quality out of it. Although I don't know if this is the best solution to do so since most of the scart cables im finding are finicky at best. What do you guys think? Also if I do this solution how do I get the audio out of it since it's only outputting rgb through the adapter.
>scart
>quality
>chink clone of a meh at best transcoder
>quality
The best solution is Higan.
>>3328160
get an upscaler, doesnt have to be a framememster just just something cheaper with a frame or 2 of lag
240p@ a modern HDTV is not a good solution, RGB or not

Is this actually a good game or just kiddie shit?
>>3328128
Define "kiddie shit"
ITT: /vr/ games you've played and have never seen discussed here.

This game, ive always wanted to talk about it, i only saw the show a couple of times and it was really cool, very similar in tone with the MiB cartoon, but the game is a really underated survival horror, yes the gameplay is really clunky but its really atmospheric mostly because of the limitations that the game uses to his advantage, there is a lack of music, and aliens lurking in dark places, i can't really explain, but if you guys want to play something new and horror related on the ps1, check it out, sadly there is almost no videos on youtube and the ones that are there are in really poor quality that can`t show the exact feel, but i love this game.

Dude, i freaking loved Project Overkill for what it was. Hard as hell, tight isometric shooting, and i loved the whole "your characters stay dead" twist.
Severely hidden gem, imo.
hey /vr/
whatre your favorite turbo grafix games? i love the snes and didnt really care for much on the genesis besides streets of rage
was wondering what im missing out on with the third "16-bit" console.

F1 Pilot You're King of Kings
Dungeon Explorer
Anyone else feel that Unreal Tournament completely overshadows Unreal in terms of popularity and discussion these days? Tournament is great but it's kinda sad to see Unreal rarely get the recognition it used to get a decade and a half ago anymore.
It gets discussed here ocassionaly. I love it. Beautiful design work, great soundtrack by Jeremy Soule, fun levels to explore, this game had it all.
>>3327829
>Jeremy Soule
Uh, what? It was by Alexander Brandon and co. You know, the guys who did Deus Ex...
Unreal feels so unrefined compared to Unreal Tournament. As if they had a good engine, but didn't know what to do with it.
Name a better retro tactics game.You can't.
That was easy.

Difference between diablo Playstation and diablo pc
Diablo on PC is actually playable.
>>3327648
Diablo on the PS1 is quite playable. Having local co-op is a nice feature. But don't plan on using a memory card for anything else other than Diablo saves since they take up a ton of space.
>>3327648
Worse resolution on PS.
Main style difference is the lighting. PS version is very colorful. So if that floats your boat... have at it hoss.
I prefer the dreary look of the PC version.
What are some great ps1 hidden gems
Racing Lagoon. Pretty good street racing RPG.
>>3327480
None of them
What do you mean none of them
Is it possible to emulate this in pc?
ePSXe isn't working for me
Tried the PC version?
>>3327485
I didn't know there was one. I feel dumb.
I'll try it. Thanks!
>>3327494
Hope you get it working!

Yup. Definitive version is THUG Pro IMO
>>3327423
fuck ya, best skater series
the Skate series was kind of a turn off for me
Technically non-retro, but I picked up THPS2X for the Xbox a few weeks back, and it's easily the best version of 2 (which was my favorite THPS and favorite game already) and also includes every level from 1, including missions (though the score ones are piss easy since you've got the manual), and 5 new levels made for this version, one of which was used as part of the Tampa level from Underground.
Essentially, it's THPSHD 10 years earlier, and actually done right. Highly recommended.
Was it the first example of artificial difficulty in gaming?
Whatever the first example of "get good faggot" is
git gud
>>3327386
How is it artificial?
I heard great things about Chrono Trigger, what's the best way to play it? What system/emulator?
Play on SNES; emulator of your choice (SNES9X is fine).
NDS, DeSmuME
>>3327369
any snes except jr. s-video, free or near free component in crt (usually have good picture) and a flashcart.
android phone with a clip on snes controller. is the only emu worth using, you can even transfer saves to your flashcart fairly easily
