What happens if you phone 1-800-idgames?
it's a 1-800 number faggot, just call it
>>3230390
probably a sex hotline, like the one from who framed roger rabbit on NES is.
>>3230390
Shame nobody from old iD is left to answer the number. Could be a private line to Tom Hall or something?
Handhelds that predate the Gameboy thread.

Loved these things when I was younger. Too bad I don't have them anymore.
I feel like collecting them again.
>>3230412
They're expensive as holy fuck now. Sometimes surpassing Earthbound prices. It's completely retarded.
>>3230414
Yeah everyone knows earthbound is the rarest video game of all time
Can we have a Koei thread?
Why doesn't Nobunaga's Ambition 2 work on most NES emulators? It freezes once it gets to the map screen

I like Uncharted Waters 2, but this is me playing it.
how interested would you guys be if I start remaking for modern pcs old school and ancient arcade games?
I'm a 1MA and have skills in everything, from music to 2D/3D, writing in tacospeak and coding.
pic related is my pixel art skill.
>>3228863
Make your own game instead.
>>3228863
>I'm a 1MA
is this some new gender you faggots call yourselves?
Anyone else think its weird that the "must have" nintendo games now are just sequels / remakes of N64 shit? No lie i think nintendo would sell a fuckton of consoles if they made a "new n64" that was backwards compatible but also had modern 3d card with "new" n64 games.
I haven't seen a N64 remake that's worth a damn.
At best they're decent like some of the DS games.
The OoT remake is trash and stupid bright for no reason.
The MM remake just removes things altogether.
Both those games completely ruined the atmosphere and creepiness.
>Anyone else think its weird that the "must have" nintendo games now are just sequels / remakes of N64 shit?
I'm not sure where you get this from. The two biggest games on Wii U are Splatoon and Mario Maker. 1 being a brand new IP and the other sadly having nothing to do with Mario 64.
master system floppy disc unit shown last night in tokyo with sega developers from back in the day
I thought that console couldn't get uglier.
Sega copies what Nintendoes
It'll be on next week's Regular Show

are you blind? its always been a problem when emulating psx
What stuck out to you about the battle system? For me it was being able to micro manage every character at the same time.
Also are there any turn-based jrpgs where you can create your own character? Something high fantasy besides the DS Dragon Quest game.
>>3225740
Etrian Odyssey is the only example I can think of.
>>3225740
>Also are there any turn-based jrpgs where you can create your own character?
HEY GUYS. HE WANTS TO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY ROLEPLAYING GAMES WHERE YOU CAN, GET THIS...MAKE YOUR OWN CHARACTER! LOLOLOLOL
>>3225740
>micro manage
Only a few games do this, managing skill slots and equipment is hardly micromanagement.
Honestly, most turn based RPGs are pretty primitive to this day, the genre has been stagnating since a long time, though what genre didn't at the end of the day?
If you ask me, I like the fact that the actually good ones require planning, I like games where you have to balance out the odds in your favour and figure out things, the turn based elements also give you some pretty good potential in terms of mechanics if you like domino systems, but then again, it's a matter of taste.
>Also are there any turn-based jrpgs where you can create your own character?
Sure.
>Something high fantasy besides the DS Dragon Quest game.
Uh, what else do you need? Hot coffee and a hug?
Google is your friend, especially since you bring non retro games here, besides, if you like the genre you should already know quite a few titles, retro or not.
Best mech game?
(Not limited to the FASA universe)

The shit that today's games don't have and experiences only retro gaming can provide.

Literally the point in retro gaming, where modern gaming does it better.
Good games.

This thread is for the spirited discussion of CRT displays - Televisions, monitors and projectors used for the playing of retro games!
>Try to keep it /vr/-related: Nothing past 5th gen(+Dreamcast). Slight OT might be okay if related to CRTs (E.G. 16:9 compatible models, flatscreens, etc.) Systems with backwards compatibility are also pretty safe territory, assuming you're focusing on the older games. PC CRTs are also a-ok.
>Produce OC! Get out your real cameras and take beautiful pictures of your CRTs displaying recognizable characters with the kind of beautiful accuracy that brings tears to the eyes of young and old alike! If you take 100 photos, at least one of them will turn out alright! (maybe)
>Try to be as detailed as possible when asking info on a specific model. As always, google is your friend, and we are your friends with benefits. Older archived threads aren't a bad place to look either.
>Share appreciation for others choice of technology and personal philosophy of gaming. As always show courtesy in your discussion and moderate yourselves first.
Discussion of video processing and scaling devices is okay, but try to keep the focus on CRTs and CRT accessories

Don't have a BKM-10R to control your shiny used BVM? Now you don't need one.
http://pastebin.com/aTUWf33J
I was able to find the online auctions the guy in the last thread spoke of.
There is a Sony BVM-20F1U for sale. Supposedly a good gaming CRT. Do I go for it /vr/?
So I use this RCA Tube TV with component on my ps2 and overall it looks fine, but when calibrating a tube, where should the sharpness setting be?
Retro games you've played as a kid and still haven't beaten to this day
>No rings for a two part boss fight
Fucking how.

Ninja Gaiden III
I've beaten the shit out of 1 and 2, but seriously 3 has some long long ass levels sometimes and some seriously tough bosses. Maybe I just need to git gud. sigh
>>3217350
Don't feel bad. I don't think I've beaten Metal Sonic either. The first game is better.

Home division.
Six years ago today I found my Coleco Pac-Man mini arcade cabinet at a thrift store for like $3 and I only later that day realized that it was Pac-Man day later when I saw the Google Doodle. Gave me a warm fuzzy feeling.
So a couple of years after having to let my NES and powerpak go I've managed to get hold of a HD modded NES frontloader and another powerpak. This is my list of games, any I'm missing that are must haves or obscure gems?
>>3234618
get the 2 Fire Emblem games
also Final Fantasy 1 ,2 and 3
Whoops, my awful cropping skills left a few out! New version attached
Jesus, you expect someone to read all that shit. If you haven't beaten every game, play them all before getting any more.
