what's this new weeb meme fag
>>3226534
Means "small fry" in Japanese, as in, anything that isn't a boss.
Post some title screens that get u pumped
I didn't want to post one of the usual suspects, so I chose Dino Crisis' title screen.

Hi, i remember a game .. on snes i think... where you control a white ball with arms and legs. It was a sonic like, but i really can't find the name!
Dizzy Prince of the Yolkfolk
or
Treasure Island Dizzy
It's not this one :/
The game was modern with sci-fi levels
Draw us a picture, op.
What's the difference?
Between Silver Star Story and Silver Star Story COMPLETE I mean.
Never even knew there were 2 versions on the Saturn until now.
>>3226165
This is just a shot in the dark, but I'm guessing that SSS is the Sega CD version and SSSC is the PS1 version. You can google the differences from there.
>>3226178
No, you're confusing everything.
The PS1 version is based the Saturn version and released years later. The SEGA CD version is called The Silver Star and a very different game.
AFAIK both these Saturn versions are basically the same with what I imagine are some minor differences, maybe it's support for the MPEG card or something, but I can't really find any info on it.
Silver Star Story is the original Sega CD version of the game and Silver Star Story Complete is the remastered (ie shit) version for the Saturn and Playstation.
The two versions you see for Saturn are both the Complete remastering but one has higher-quality MPEG cutscenes that require the Video CD addon only released in Japan. Playstation has its own video format iirc that works kinda like MPEG and the MPEG versions were reencoded for the Silver Star Story Complete Port to PS1.
Japanese game = anime
English version = western trash
why ?
>>3226075
>>3226075
Before the anime boom, Publishers feared that the weird Japanese art styles would confuse and scare Westerners. They did everything to hide it. They would change cover art, or sometimes do whole conversions like this.
>>3226081
But this is exactly the opposite of that. The Jetsons game was created first, and then converted for the Japanese market.
Ok guys need you re help. Trying to remember the name of a game I am sure was for SNES where you are a red guy in a spacesuit on an alien world with a gun. It is a side scroller.

Do you avoid green label PS1 games, /vr/?
Personally I don't care. If the black label is the same price as the green label I'll go with the black, but if the green label's cheaper I'll go with that.
i'm getting to a point where i might not even take the fucking gamestop/compusa/whatever sticker is on a game off anymore. just fucks it all up and i never had goo gone work right. it's like gamestop executives were one day discussing how they should put price tags on their video games and they just went JUST FUCK IT ALL UP SENPAI
>>3225858
Same here, and I'm in good with my local gaming store. If they have multiple black labels for a certain game and I come in with my green label, they'll swap out the inserts.
>>3225858
my gamestop has stickers on the fucking box art.
like they took the paper out of the case, stuck it on and made it unremovable
Ghetto rigged an AC3 simulator.
Also i've been playing AC forever and i'm still trash, whats the secret?
I know how to cancel the stopping animation with the jumps and such and do fairly well in the arena but the missions always fuck me.
>>3225839
Never thought of plying AC with a flight stick. How does this work? I've only beat the first one with a standard dual-shock, they are hard games.
Oh fug. One of my best friends in high school worked at an arcade and would fix the machines so we could play for free. There was this badass mecha game you played with 2 sticks like that

Virtual On
What did Americans do in between the time Atari crashed their industry and then Nintendo saved them from it?
>australia-kun is back
oh look another nintendrone thread
dude mario lmao
>>3225818
There was this place called an arcade.
Just got day of the tentacle from gog and I'm loving it! Do you guys have any more adventure game or any other genres from gog I should check out? It can be on dos too
>>3225720
the sam and max games I hear are pretty fun
>>3225720
Sam & Max
Full Throttle
The Dig
Fate of Atlantis
What went wrong?
>>3225671
absolutely nothing.
>Outsourced to another company because Technos was too busy doing Combatribes (which turned out to be rather meh anyway)
>Literal pay2win system where you can only get certain power-ups (including additional characters) by credit feeding (removed in the JP version mercifully)
>Globe trekking plot that starts out fine, but becomes pretty ridiculous when it ends with the good guys fighting Cleopatra's reanimated corpse in Egypt.
>The Rosetta Stones are a bunch of Dragon Ball-like McGuffins that's nothing like the real Rosetta Stone. Research much?
>Sloppy animation that looks like its skipping frames.
>Is the series was called Double Dragon, why is there suddenly three Lee brothers?
The music was nice I guess and I like the JP flyer, but that's it. It's interesting to watch the superplays online and witness how easy it is to break the game.
The NES version was better, but it's still shares some of the same stupidities.
>>3225671
Simple...
The rushed out ports of the lame version, instead of taking the rocksolid NES game and first doing basic transfers of it first to 8-bit computers, and then just doing what they already proven to turn out nicely with the PCE-CD and made a graphically enhanced version for the amiga, ST and genesis, and then either also transferred that directly to DOS and genesis, or made enhanced CD versions for them.
They didn't have to do anything new&complicated, simply what they did with DD2 except now they had a selection of worthwhile platforms to target.
Can you really call a game "retro" when you've probably never played it until it got popular 10-15 years later?
>>3225504
Yes. It would still be a retro game. It just wouldn't be nostalgic to you specifically, which seems to be the word you are looking for.
>>3225521
gud post, /thread
>>3225504
Yeah, if a game was released 20 years ago but I'm only playing it now does that somehow mean it wasn't released 20 years ago?
Wasted a $1.99 and about 2 hours on this utter piece of shit after hearing it was an intriguing hidden gem reminiscent of RE2. It played like RE1 in space with no weapons and glitchier textures.
69 will decide what I do with this disc because it sure as hell isn't going near my games
Anyone have a reason why this flat circular turd was distributed to anyone who would play a videogame?
>>3225496
Wrap it and give it to a hobo.
Nah, just sell it.
>>3225496
Just use it as a cup coaster
>>3225496
>I played it for 15 minutes then gave up on it
Some games in that era are harder to get into.
I've never heard anyone call it a hidden gem, but it does some interesting things.
Give me some cool historical retro vidya, please
