With all the butthurt over the way the anime's turned out lately, it makes me curious: If you were put in charge of a Pokemon Anime, what would it be like?
Would you want it to replace the main series or supplant it?
Only guidelines are you cannot have visceral violence and must still remained focused on Pokemon. So no entire series of human shipping.
Well, what would you do, /vp/, what would you do?
no jobbing allowed

Angry little self entitled asshole with a Ferroseed and Cranidos has to learn to actually be friends with his pokemon in order to succeed. Grows as a person and as a pokemon trainer, makes friends and enemies along the way, goes to challenge the elite 4 in the style of the games and not the tournaments of the regular anime. Maybe he succeeds maybe he doesn't, but afterwards we flash forward to him with some new kid and the series ends leaving it open for a sequel with the new kid but also as a closed story.

Persian versus Burmy, /vp/'s favorite versus /vp/'s least favorite
when was this decided?
Wasn't there supposed to be a stream this morning? I just got off work and no one seems to be talking about it
>>27890821
Everyone is talking about it, they revealed a new pokemon and also showed pikachu using a Normal type Z move in the battle royale.
The stream itself was pretty dumb. They literally showed the first splatoon trailer ever to hype Splatoon fans for... Shilling the new amiibos.
Yes, but it ende already and was quite underwhelming. Picture german autism, shitty jap/german translators, a crowd composed of manchildren, and in the end they only revealed a new pokémon and showed us a bit of the battle royale gameplay.

it was shit
I've been supporting ash all day today, but now I realize that I FUCKING LOVE CHARIZARD! Ash can go eat a dick for not bringing his to the league this time around.
also post cool Charizard fan art
>>27890811
Charizard is a fat lovable dragon that always tries his best.

>I will fight with my region team because we have a bond
>I will start the next region from zero, fuck my loser team
Yeah man, that charizard that defeated articuno and held its own against entei is clearly a loser
Find a better shiny coloration.

Spoilers:Final moves, Ash - Greninja uses a huge shuriken never seen before and Zard just uses Blast burn, both direct hits one each other. And fucking greninja goes down? Why? Such a lackluster ending. Zard didn't even look like it was hurt at all.
Also link to the final part of the match to see the bullshit in action:

You're honestly the first person using spoilers about this thing that I've see today.
I wish they would stop fucking gen 1 pandering .
We get it Charizard is the mascot starter lalala
>>27890830
I figured incase any anons wanted to see it for themselves. kinda dumb though
>come to /vp/ after a short break
>people are mad because Ash apparently lost the league again
Wait, there are actually people who
1) still watch the anime
2) are emotionally invested
3) think that Ash will ever win a league
Why?
You know that this show is literally just there for merchandise, right? The producers already stated that this is the reason for Ash still being 10, so new kids who start watching can identify with him better. Ash will never succeed in winning a league. The show must go on.
There is literally no reason and no excuse for being this autistic about a merchandise cashgrab show. And yes, Serena will be gone and forgotten soon. She will not win the Ashbowl. No one ever will.
>>27890650
Hello folks, today we learned that "having some feelings for something" equals to "autism", even though autists consistently struggle with the lack of empathy and such.
>>27890870
So you are saying its not autism to have feelings for something that OBVIOUSLY will not end the way you want it to?
Its like putting your hands on the oven plate and complaining about burning yourself.
>still watch the anime
XY was amazingly good, just as good as DP
>are emotionally invested
like with any show, if you watch it from day 1, you get attached to the characters
>think that Ash will ever win a league
They made us think he could win.
>Kalos League Victory is in the title, of course that means Ash wins! No other league episode title has this!
>Alola doesn't have gyms or a league, of course that means Ash wins! He won't have a chance to win in the future!
>It's the 20th Anniversary, of course they'll let Ash win for maximum overhype!
>He has 48 Gym Badges, of course that means Ash can beat that guy who started collecting last week!
>Who cares if Alan beat one Elite Four and almost a second, Ash beat the Champion's ace Mega with Greninja!
>He has the best league team this time around, of course Ash will win with some of the strongest Pokemon in Kalos!
>Alan's teamcomp is literally shitmons, of course Ash will beat some nobody with a fucking Unfezant!
>Alan lost most of his team, of course Ash can beat Mega Memezard with the rest of his pokemon!
>He has OP Narutofrog and Level 100 Pikachu, of course he can out-asspull Mega Memezard!
>Alan's at a type disadvantage, of course Ash will beat him with an equally-powerful starter mon!

>>He has 48 Gym Badges, of course that means Ash can beat that guy who started collecting last week!
was this an actual argument?
Holy shit
I wanted to ask about Pokemon Special, /vp/. I don't frequent this board anymore, so I'm not sure why people dislike it. What are some of the reasons why? I really, really wanna know.
Most people I know hyped it to hell. I'd try getting into it but it was not that good at least in the first arcs. The characters felt like they had zero personality outside of there cookie cutter archetypes. Also people try to peg it as being definitive but the fact that league characters are changed to villians shows a change of focus from the games. To me personally that was the worst possible change in focus you can do. The only challenger versus challenger match was red versus green. Red was declared the winner even though he used more Pokémon than Green. I was informed they actually explain their unintuitive rules in later arcs: you can use as many Pokémon at once and if you beat one of your opponent's Pokémon you're the winner. I shouldn't have to explain why those rules are dumb as fuck. Got bored midway through yellow. I haven't read the manga enough to say the anime is actually better. But from what I can tell there are in the same ballpark. Also fucking levels
>>27890567
It`s a pokemon narrative product where shit actually happens and its more complex than the teletubbies.
Of course the pokemon fanbase hated it.

This.
what are the chances Sun and Moon leak in China before they're officially released? and how early could we expect it? days? weeks?? please bless us, chinks
>>27890558
More likely than you'd think, but less likely than you'd hope.
Fairly likely, I'd expect it to be leaked a week prior and fully dumped in cia format 3-4 days before the official international release.
maybe 1 or 2 weeks before release

no it wasn't
>>27890513
Having the attack tell you whether it will be super effective on the attack list does kinda ruin the part of the experience where you're trying to figure out the typing on a new pokemon you have not met before. It's not a big deal, but throwing an bulldoze at a fire-y looking pokemon that just used ember to see a "not very effective" message and wondering "what the fuck is it's type then?" is pretty cool and a lot of people will never experience it in new games.
