Why didn't GameFreak make different forms of Mimiky? For example they could've made a different form for all the gen 1 starters and all the 4 different forms would have different typings and movesets.

Everyone has been so quick to call Greninja shit all day; but has anyone ever stopped to think that maybe Ash is the jobber?
Every time Greninja got hit, Ash looked like he was in more pain than it. It's highly possible that Greninja was prepared to go on; but Ash was to exhausted to continue, so he passed out.
We don't really know how Synchro-evolution works, but I imagine that the trainer's stamina is a huge factor, and Ash has never been in a situation that pushed his Stamina like that, since Greninja mostly swept.

No, Pokemon Diamond version wasn't good. It felt very incomplete and this problem was emphasized not only by the incredibly unfulfilling Battle Tower, but some of the Gym Leaders and Elite Four spreads too. These problems were addressed in Platinum with a satisfying Post-League. Also, the Pokedex got itself together, the character designs were tightened up and all in all the game just felt more well rounded.
I will give Pokemon Diamond one thing though; it's the game with which the story works best. Dialga feels like it had the most thought put into it between itself and Palkia and this is even emphasized in other works that feature the two of them.
Generation 4 on the other hand was good overall, yeah. Platinum, HG and SS really bring it together.

The games themselves don't have gym leaders anymore and I'm guessing the E4 won't be the same thing either. So maybe the reason was Ash didn't win beause in Alola he can assemble his own league and have a better chance at winning?

Why do some of you even care about Ash?
He's the kind of dense guy who gets carried from town to town waiting for things to happen to him. Everything he does is get Pokémon without having to fight and catch them, then some of his Pokémon get an asspull powerup and he's able to get all the badges.
He was even close to win this time, using a magic Greninja, beating a guy like Shota who trained and learned every single episode he was shown.
Alain trained in the spinoff and in the main series, fought and won against an E4 member and 10 fights in a row without resting. He even fought against Mega Rayquaza.
Ash trained his Pokémon when? In one episode where he got sick because picked a river as training field?
Come on, he doesn't deserve to be top 2, he had to be top 16 again. His Greninja is the same one trick pony of the Kanto league.
