Honestly, so long as you avoid impulse buying or having a completionist mentality and just pace yourself for the things you really want and are interested in, toy collecting can actually be a pretty cheap hobby to have.

If there's something you know you want and about how much it costs, just budget it in and plan for its chunk of your earnings. Focus less on the hype for a figure and think more about how much you'd actually enjoy it on your shelf. There's really nothing worse than working with a small personal budget, splurging once and then having a constant reminder of that bad choice glaring at you from a shelf.

As someone who's old enough to have fond memories of that tv show and playing with those toys when they first came out, I think what you want this thread to be about nostalgiafagging.

Toys from back then are total shit compared to the stuff being produced today.
Though, toys produced today can't hold a candle compared to what was being produced in the 00s. The 00s was golden age, what with better quality in paint and plastics, and they were priced cheap as fuck.
Only a few companies have improved since the 00s, like NECA and japanese collector companies, but only because they started off at such low points. So their work doesn't match the high points of the 00s and their toys don't have those true bro prices.

Just to warn you though, it has a lot of issues. Not so much to do with QC, but it's more to do with how its elbows are designed poorly to the point that it will always break unless you never move them at all. In this regard, I'd only recommend it if you're a diehard fan of Raiden and in desperate need of a 1/6 figure of him.

The way the elbow joints are designed, they're put together in such a way that the joint doesn't slide properly and instead it pulls the rest of the internal mechanism. Basically moving the joint strains the plastic enough to slowly break it internally. The hard part is how the arms are also covered in a rubber sleeve (to hide the joint) so you'd really have to customize it if you want a working elbow joint (I've seen some people offer services to fix the elbow joint on the Sideshow Freaks forums).

Beyond that, there's no other problems, which kinda sucks because it's really just the elbow construction that ruins an otherwise great Hot Toys figure.

The product photos show the dome being mostly yellow tinted, but as you can see in photo, its mostly clear.

There were the Atelier Sai 1/12 action figures that came out 10 years ago, which are now rare and expensive. They're not that good compared to modern figures: their joints are floppy and they can't stand unsupported.

C. Alright, im done griping, here are the basics of basics.

1, see these red circles? find the electric switches and rotate them then shove them back in so they are eternally depressed.

this will disable some of the locks that make stock stryfes so unpleasant.

2, See the green circle? underneeth that is some sort of mechanizm that prevents you from pulling the trigger unless the rev-trigger is already depressed,, Figueout which piece it is, and get rid of it.

3. Somewhere up top, but not pictured in this photo, i believe there is a piece that extends out over the clip chamber.. When you load a clip, a dart presses up against this,

This is the single worst thing about the stock stryfe, and is the easiest to get rid of, 90% of jams are caused by this piece of plastic, Get rid of it.
Past this, you can get a bit more advanced, Like Re-wiring it, and putting in stronger batteries,


Extending a mag is easy,, go buy a bigger one, the 12 or 18 dart clips are pretty easy to find, and if you really search you should be able to find an 18 or 32 dart drum mag.

I don't mind the safeties. It doesn't make sense to pull the trigger when the motors aren't running. It would jam. And without the mag nothing at all would happen.

I will look at the chamber once I reassemble it.

Not him, but seriously look into getting the locks removed. If you intend to take your mod the distance, you'll likely have to in order for the higher voltage batteries to work. The dart tooth lock is essential in increasing the rate of fire you can output. The entire switch for the rev trigger will likely have to be replaced to handle higher volts. Also the thermistor needs to be taken out if you plan to raise voltage in anyway, since it will lockdown the gun otherwise. There are several videos on YouTube that go over this entire process, so start there.

Lastly I recommend you keep it looking like a toy even after your paint job is done unless this is for a prop. The risk of getting into trouble with law enforcement isn't worth a "tacticool" paint job.
