December Challenges:
There will be a voting poll posted somewhere in the thread where you can decide on what will be the challenges for December.
Trying to find even recently discontinued sets for a reasonable price is a nightmare when you're Australian.
AUS price: $50 + $10 postage
US/CAN price: $10 (+$40 int. postage)
And I need TWO of them.
>>5311699
What set are you looking for?
>>5311702
75039 V-Wing Starfighter
I tried bricking it out on Bricklink and came up to nearly the same price in AUD anyway, and that's without the minifigures.
>>5311709
I was actually going to say you should brick it out but it seems that you may be in a predicament. If you really want it then you should bite the bullet and get it.
Am I right that the UK only got Doctor who as a release before xmas. Was looking forward to maybe some city and creator sets :(
>>5311711
Yeah, I've found a guy in Canada who will post it for pretty cheap, and the exchange rate is better than with the US, so I'll get on that when I get paid.
I guess the prices are only going to go up, right?
Cheers though.
MONTHLY CHALLENGE VOTING
PLEASE VOTE YOUR FAVORITE CHOICE
TOP FOUR WILL BE THE DECEMBER THREAD CHALLENGES

WHO /train/ HERE?
So I recently redesigned one of my favorite mocs that I have made. I think it is a huge improvement as compared to the old build. I took strong inspiration from the Schnitzer Toyota Celica LB race car from the 70s along with various other group 5 race cars. What do you guys think of it?
I will probably be replacing those white modified plates with a blue variant in the future.
Here it is next to my main inspiration. I think the shovel-nose came looking pretty decent.
And here is what it looked like before the redesign. It was a boxy little fucker.
>>5311769
Looks really good. I'd replace the headlights with just 1x1 round pieces though, maybe swap those slopes holding up the spoiler for short panel pieces.
>>5311764
That is a cool Christmas tree you got there, anon.
>>5311895
How dare you call it a HOLIDAY TREE. How do you know that it does not identify as an oak tree or a palm tree? Check YOUR privilege m80. Not every tree identifies as such.
>tree
Cellulocracy please go and stay go
I've been doin' some new photos on my instagram if anybody wants to take a look: https://www.instagram.com/quadradical/
I'd appreciate it!
'I ain't afraid of no g-g-g-ghost!'
>>5311936
That actually works - his real name is Norville Rogers!
Amazing.
I haven't bought legos in a long add time, but they had the klinkers marked down at Ross. Pretty cool. Built a build I saw on reddit, but I've been having fun changing it up.
What are some good parts of minifigures that I could use for my Warcraft Burning Legion army? I'm thinking the new Satyr when it comes out, and possibly using the red demon head to make some demons, anyone have any recommendations?
I'm about to pull the trigger, is it a good idea /lg/?
>>5311979
Klinkers are a great Mixels clan...
>>5311995
Do it. With UCS Star Wars you're guaranteed your money back plus more if you do ever change your mind anyway.
>>5312118
This is true. Those things double in value the second they go out of print.
>>5311764
The Lego related things I collect and build fit into exactly two types of category:
Trains
Things that go well with trains
>>5311709
Sheng Yuan makes these for cheap...
>>5311764
Getting my first since the dark age on christmas, The cargo train. Figure itll be a nice base to build on. Also plan on getting the lone ranger train and mixing it with the sea cow to make a great big ass armed/armoured steam punk train.
Any tips? Battery configs, ideas for cars, that sort of thing? Also, how many cars is too many for one battery setup? I figure theres a limit to how much it will pull...
Anyone know where I can find polybags for cheap, or at least selling some for cheap? I'm addicted to tiny vehicles which 905 of polybags are.
>>5312321
probably Utah, those Mormons are known for their love of polybags
Thoughts on the First Order Snowspeeder? Thinking of biting the bullet and going for it.
>>5312333
It still looks terrible, but it's not Lego's fault. I'd only get it on clearance.
Or wait for the Microfighter next year
>>5312333
Just ordered one to pad my Dr Who order at shop@home to get the Gingerbread House.
All of the TFA stuff has been really solid builds so far, they look lackluster in pics but I really enjoy them.
>>5312333
IMO very good set but not for full price (but that's all starwars sets for you)
Great parts, "car" is playable and figs are solid. What not to love?
>>5311725
>>MFW you've created a monster..
>>5312428
maybe you should finally realize it's time to stop posting and take off that fucking name tag, especially since you don't even contribute shit, huh
>>5312434
nah man, i literally suck dicks like approximately 24/7 thats how i role
its the only thing i do more than legos and megablocks
>>5312439
so maybe go back to that instead of shitposting, wouldn't that be swell
Lego shop part of the lego website is down. I just wanted to buy my damn Doctor Who set. I bet everyone jumped on the moment it was aailable and probably clogged up the site with too much traffic.
>>5311774
>that cozy little diecast car as inspiration
my nigger, i love my old rugged diecast collection so much.
Here's my slightly updated racetruck, now with hood, some commercial decals and rearview mirrors!
>>5312531
>>5312532
Nice I really like the early 90s aesthetic that you have going.
>>5311769
Well damn if that isn't handsome. Older squarer version is also really good, damn.
I reverse-engineered Tattun's Woman-type recently. The upper and middle torso of this thing was a clusterfuck, I tell you, but it's seemingly quite sturdy. A fuckton of the 5-stud 1x1 bricks and 3-stud types are used all over her, and to good effect. Unfortunately her build also seems to use some semi-illegal SNOT techniques on the back of the legs and upper back, namely the "peg w/stud in brick" trick, but these are easily solved using 1x2 plates.
Overall she's really neat, but her head looks really strange when not looked at from certain angles, plus I can't get minifig hands or 1x1 plate tiles to clip onto some spots where they're located on her build.
I also wound up editing her hands quite a bit. Another impossible-in-LDD connection.
Original for comparison. All of her pictures are from ~2007, making for a bit of squinting and fiddling.
Lessons learned I'd hope.
In the short lived clone thread, someone posted anime minifigs. Were they these Star Diamond ones? Can you post the image again.
Chinky lego land has been restocked, and for some reason I really want a pink friends hairpiece.
>>5312664
Go back to /pbbg/
>>5312687
Last time we had a little fight it didn't go well for either of us.
/pbbg/ is where megablocks enthusiasts exchange out of focus pictures. I think I am more likely to get an answer here.
And it's an important question. Even the smallest of these sets is $6, way outside my $3 chinky lego comfort zone. But if its made with rubbery plastic like Friends hairpieces then I want one. Obviously not as important has "Should I buy this Starwars Set?", but still relevant to lego
>>5312687
Alternatively, stay here and cause me to be entertained as autists become enraged
I did get this though. Mainly for the white ring pieces to make spaceship engines.
How long do the expert sets (modular buildings / UCS Star Wars etc) sets tend to stay in circulation before being discontinued?
>>5312754
Damn that minifig is awful.
>>5312761
2,5 or 3 years iirc
>>5312761
Usually around 2 years.
>>5312333
Good playability, good figs, good if you think less of it as a speeder and more as a gunboat or transport. I got one with my First Order Transporter.
>>5312761
It was 3 years once but it´s becoming extremely irregular, depending on how well it sells (which is easy to see from internet reactions and if its seasonal like for a movie or some other timely thing). Sets like the B-Wing and Obi-Wans JSF had lives of less than a year and had long sales to clear stock while most modulars got older than 5 years.
Next sets to retire are
- UCS X-Wing
- UCS Tumbler
- Ewok Village
- Seacow
- Death Star
are any of the retired star wars UCS sets or exclusive minifigs worth the exorbitant price?
>>5312804
Depends on how much you want them.
I don't care about SW sets, so they're only worth as much as the pieces to me.
>>5312664
Where is that Store?
I want to buy a few Star Diamond sets.
>>5312804
More than 5 bucks for a figure is a scam unless it uses rare colors or unique pieces. If it´s only a print you might as well get decals and unprinted parts.
>>5312664
Where can one find these sets in freedom land? Asian markets...?
I wanted to build Pikasis X-Wing (if anybody hasn´t seen it yet ( http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=493509 )
The beams holding the wings are constantly breaking in my model and I can´t put them together without taking apart the entire model. I already changed parts with longer plates so it stacks better but it didn´t work.
I think the most friction comes from the SNOT brick + brick with hole connections and it would be easier to just use bricks with holes and technic pins or a cross axle through holes but then I couldn´t pose it with wings closed in the air unless the friction of normal technic pins works well enough.
Did anybody else come across this problem? I wasted 2 hours already changing various things to make it more stable and didn´t get the idea to change the snot bricks until now.
>>5312556
Looks like it would be fun to pose.
>>5312982
IRL more than in LDD, definitely. LDD posing is a pain in the ass.
December can't go by fast enough.
These are some props and shit for a stop motion my friend and I are working on
>>5313029
Smaller tank
>>5313031
Artillery
>>5313035
More artillery
>>5313038
Service car
This is some sweet stuff anon. You gonna post the finished short here when it's done?
Loving these. The way you balance plates and studs is top notch.
>>5313059
Sadly we haven't started filming yet :( we're not even close to having everything built and the story is still in the production stage.
This is the queen of the set though
Big Benny
>>5313069
Each of the four treads can move individually
>>5313072
Crane to load the shells
>>5313065
is this your first stopmotion film?
>>5313077
yes but we've experimented stop motion techniques on our own making a tone of shorts that were never actually finished
I'm confident in my stop motion abilities
>>5313078
She'll actually fits into gun
>>5313084
Scale with the minifigs and shell
>>5313065
Is this based on one of those old railway guns because I love this!
>>5313084
was just asking since you have so many props that you intend to use. Might be a lot of work.
But not trying to discourage you or anything.
I'm curious as to how the finished thing will be.
>>5313029
Nice builds you got there. Most of the stop motions that I see on Youtube have really crap looking builds. Post the video in one of the generals when you are done.
>>5313088
Yeah I pretty much made the same thing but on treads. It still works though
>>5313089
Rear gunner
>>5313092
Definitely will but it will be a while
College is time consuming and money for Legos is short
>>5313098
Chin guns
>>5313101
Machine guns
>>5313088
Anon'd have to answer, but the thing is less akin to a railway gun and more of a giant self-propelled gun.
>>5313012
oh god, from that angle it looks like she has an entire man for a face
>>5313136
Her head is super long but none of Tattun's photos show this off. I'm pretty sure mine's accurate, at any rate. It's really really weird.
I'm also pretty sure he could've given her a nicer head if he wanted to, but it was his choice. Nowadays with the parts available it could be done in a trice. Hell, even back then it would've been doable. I mean, sure, I can't give her head all of the parts it normally has, but it seems that's just a pair of minifig hands and a proper chrome-gold space visor.
To be frank, she'd look better straightaway if I could give it to her in LDD, but I can't, alas. Maybe I'll build her sometime. I imitated her to learn, so I guess I could build her for the sake of it, kinda like the stuff Mahj regularly shares and people then build variants of. On the other hand, does anyone want her .LXF? I think Tattun's been gone long enough he wouldn't mind.
I really don't know. Maybe I got the whole thing wrong? Looks really good from the front, at any rate.
>>5313029
I remember you posting these a while back. Keep at it!
>>5311995
The only thing I don't like about this set is that the wings seem to sag a lot. I keep having to out them back in place because the bricks are separating in that area.
>>5312762
No, it's not.
>>5313327
The parts look alright for the price but the minifig does look horrible. Wierd face coloration, plastic looking very breakable, doesn't even try to look like what it's bootlegging. In fact, it's the case with most superhero bootleg minifigs, the only decent one I can think of rn is that old-ish Galactus. Those meme face pirates that one guy keeps posting look better than this.
Have we gotten anything new in terms of finalized pictures besides Bionicle, Nexo Knights, City, etc we got a while back? (Although those first two are what I'm most excited for, I actually like the next Ninjago wave, despite not following the show or anything.)
>>5313558
>etc
Bit vague, man
>>5311709
I got it a month after it came out for 20 bucks USD. Great little set, did the V-Wing justice on this one.
>>5311995
Bought that as a self-present. Amazing set, excellent detail, great coloring and looks amazing as a display piece (and swooshable too). It's a really satisfying set, regardless if you're in it for the long haul or to flip it when it's discontinued.
>>5313301
>None of the Ghostbusters have those initials, so...
Yeah, I realized that in bed last night. I was all
>which Ghostbuster WAS that uniform from?
>...well duh
And now I feel stupid.
>>5313582
>I realized that in bed
Was it a freaky ghost bed?
Bionicle, Nexo Knights, City, Duplo, Architecture, Creator, Disney Princesses, Friends, Technic, Dimensions, some Star Wars, Star Wars Ultrabuild.
>To clarify, it warranted a trip to brickset, which showed me which finalized pictures are out. So I answered my own question. Thanks Obama.
Any other pictures recently?
>>5313585
No, my mind just does the "Here's everything you did wrong today and why you're a loser" thing every night when I try to sleep. Maybe that's paranormal... but I don't think so.
>>5313602
>No, my mind just does the "Here's everything you did wrong today and why you're a loser" thing every night when I try to sleep
It does that to everybody and unconditionally tries to make you feel like a shitty idiot no matter how kind of okay your life might be going
next thread challenge? (after poll choices)
>Create six mini-models
>maximum of 20 parts each
>which fit into a standard LEGO Advent Calendar window.
>max two minifigure/mini-dolls
>figures can be accompanied by up to five parts as accessories.
>Each day’s gift should be a mini-model in its own right,
>but if they can combine that's fine
(e.g like nixels)
>>5313706
Why don't you just post your brickset competition entries in here already
>>5312333
>>5312782
>Good playability, good figs, good if you think less of it as a speeder and more as a gunboat or transport. I got one with my First Order Transporter.
Indeed, it's a Speeder Gunboat, what's not to love?
Help, I'm stuck in a starfighter factory and can't get out.
>>5313841
Buy n' build 'em.
>>5313861
Sadly I don't have much of a budget these days.
>>5313863
Good luck saving up for the glorious inaugural day, in that case.
>>5313869
Well, it's more that my Lego budget started going into X-wing instead.
>>5313876
Ah whatever, the idea comes through.
Someday, anon!
>>5313881
This is sort of indirectly X-Wing (well, E-Wing) anyways, although originally it was an attempt to get a canopy slope a bit like this thing from Yamato.
is the blade in this set new pice?
>>5313901
nope, just a sticker and creatively covered
>>5313901
Nope. New in whichever silver that is, though.

Didn't you see Avengers? It's a jet quad copter with a robot arm. Appeared just after the bit with the flame thrower cart.
>>5312818
It's a bookshop chain in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, so not much use to you. Those 2 anime minifig sets are $20 here.
There's a chinesebricks.com based in Thailand. They have some (not cheap and I don't know shipping). And there are some on aliexpress, but it seems a hard brand to find.
What are some good lego news sites?
>>5314154
http://www.thebrickfan.com/
Best one I've found, and they feature leaks until Lego sicks their overzealous lawyers on them.
>>5312664
That was me. Yes, that's the product line.
If you're particular about how high the hair should sit on the head then you may have to grind the hair pieces deeper, particularly with the pink hair.
>>5314290
those three on the right will haunt me in my dreams
Thanos looks sleek
>>5314337
Yeah he looks awesome, as does Ms Marvel and Hyperion
But holy shit the jet looks bad. No idea in bricklinking them tough since I want all figs.
>>5314337
>another Cap
>another RDJ
who even needs that many of them
>>5314340
Atleast it's a bitching white Iron Man suit.
I can't be mad at a set that gives you that along Thanos, Ms Marvel AND Hyperion
>>5314340
>46 Iron Man armors
We need to collect them all.
>>5314337
New rebreather piece looks like it's similar to the mustache?
I bought and built the First Order Special Forces tie last night.
Man, it's sexy. I love the three printed pieces you get for the top, front and back of the cockpit. They've really done a good job at making the cockpit round, this looks better than the UCS tie.
The only thing that was slightly disappointing was that the officer is flesh-coloured and not reddish brown. Oh well, still 10/10 would recommend, I'm really warming up to the First Order sets..
CMF series 15 have been leaked, haven't seen photos yet, but they'll pop up here i'm sure in the next few hours

>>5314454

i thought animal control was a dude?
a few of those are pretty damn good though
>>5314473
I think someone in the know let slip that it was a female some time back. She's awfully similar to the series 5 zookeeper in theme.
>>5314454
I wanna get this entire series holy shit.
>>5314454
Wow, this is an all killer no filler wave, awesome!
>>5314442
I'm still deciding if I should get it or not. I won't be able to fit it into my idea for a base unless I swap the workshop for a hanger. The pilot figures are lovely, though.
>>5314454
Here's my first toughts..
>Wrestler
meh. Not interesting, except for maybe the hairpiece. Pass.
>Janitar
Nice mop. Not into City tough, so pass.
>Kendo Warrior
Wow disappointing, nothing special at all. Maybe the worst out of all. Pass.
>Jewel Thief
A female crook, nice. But nothing special. Pass
>Austronaut
Now this is nice. I like the CS-flag. Buy!
>Winged Warrior
Now we're really talking! Looks amazing, buy, possibly several.
>Tribal Woman
Looks cute. The baby accesory is nice. Buy.
>Robot
Boring. Too similar to earlier ones. Pass.
>Animal Control
Amazing Skunk. Easy get just because of that. Buy.
>Unlucky Guy
Yeah we've seen this one, but it's a brilliant minifig. Easy buy.
>Knight
Possibly my favourite of the bunch. Awesome shield and mace. Armybuilding!
>Shark Guy
Yeah it's awesome. Will be easy to feel for too, will amass and shill
>Queen:
Nice new dress, but otherwise meh. Will get one for Burger King tough. Buy.
>Satyr
Not my cup of tea. Wish we got a Pan Flute. Pass.
>Ballerina
Really nice, definitively buy.
>Farmer
Easy get since you get a cute piggy. Buy.
Overall a really nice series. I might just go ahead and get a whole box for myself.
>>5314510

anyone got a pic of the new first order trooper battlepack coming out?
>>5314525

>>5314533
Cheers. Hate how they're bumping officers and the crew folks in with almost every set.
>>5314535
They really went maximum overjew with that one
>two crew member
>one "heavy" stormtrooper that no one wants
>just one regular stormei
They should have kept the officer, have one stormtrooper with the red shouldercape then 2 normal stormtroopers

>>5314521
>dat birdman
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4nS9IbT-uk

Yeah, awful for army building. At least the price of troopers will go down on bricklink. I don't mind the heavy trooper, I'd probably just make a little squad of them like a lewis gun crew.

>>5314618
A minifig that represents you.
>>5314600
Wait a second... look at the Satyr's legs. I cant tell if they are a unique mold or if its just a trick of the lighting/coloring.
>>5314605
You a grill or a guy with weird hair?
>>5314622
It's unique by the looks of it.
>>5314634
Kendo masks look like that? Why are you upset?
>>5314639
Something sleeker would have been nice for variety. The old piece really didn´t need a rerelease thanks to Ninjago having spammed it for a wave.
I expected a man with a dark blue robe, cloth skirt and the kendo stick as the new piece.
>>5314622
Have there ever been unique legs before?
>>5314657
Peglegs
>>5314657
Depends if you count pirate peg-legs/that robo peg-leg from Monster Fighters
Or the squid tentacles from Atlantis/Alien Conquest
Or the snake tail from Ninjago
Or the mermaid tail from Pirates
Never had a full-on set of two new legs before though
>>5314650
After googling a kendo stick, the katanas work just fine, they look extremely similar. Saves LEGO a few whatever thousand dollars to produce an extremely similar stick.
>>5312333
I bought one and like it. Reminds me of a PT boat.
>it ain't me starts playing
>>5314600
Jewel thief, ballerina and shark guy are my faves. Farmer, janitor and unlucky guy will be nice for accessories, same goes for the knight (finally, that spiky armor from Prince of Persia again! And cool new mace). I actually kinda like the kendo guy too, the color scheme is pretty pleasant.
Kinda upset the astronaut is so generic and that the wrestler isn't another luchador (I really wanted a not-El Santo).
>>5314659
>Never had a full-on set of two new legs before though
>>5314659
That robo peg leg was amazing but I wish they'd make a pair of them
>mfw I love City and want all the new CMFs no one else wants
That janitor is the shit.
>>5314154
I use Brickset for my daily check up. Very clean, huge built in database and regular Amazon deal updater.
>>5314710
Janitor is cool, so was the carpenter in the prievous series or the female construction worker in movie CMF, or the grandpa. City minifigs in blndbags aren't bad per say, unless it's shit we already get a plenty of (series 2 cop is still the worst offender), it's not a problem at all when they're one-offs that won't get featured in normal sets due to being hard to base a theme on. That's how I feel about it at least.
Janitor is easily in my top five, I love the expression and new accessories, and the sand green/blue/red colors are pretty nice all around so it's cool to have another minifig in such color scheme
>>5314544
My thoughts too. We have Ming,Flash and now the birdmans.
>>5314731
wait, there was a Flash Gordon lookalike? When exactly?
>>5314600

Does this have a lot of space inside? I like ships and vehicles that actually have decent cabin space. But that's rare with Lego.
would pic relate qualify for blacktron accepted?
>>5314691
they don't really count though, seeing as they are click elements unlike a set of legs which are designed/intended to be one "piece" as such
>>5314801
It's not necessarily accessible, but yes. Quite a bit of it is hollow, and I had to add some stuff inside the cockpit to cover up a gap that went all the way through the back of the ship.
>>5314807
Hm maybe I could modify it to fly in a different direction to add cabin space.

>>5314860
there hasn't been a single sticker in any series of cmfs has there?
>>5314857
This shit is too minor to notice for 90% people and armybuilder figs in non-licensed themes tend to have small design varieties as a feature, is it really such a problem to have some stormies with small blue marks, some with small grey marks, and one with an ammo belt? Idk, never cared much for SW but you'd think people would want a little variety if they mass armybuild shit...

I really wish there was just a joint general for all SW toys. People whine about bootlegs and Ideas but they're nothing compared to the average SW discussion here (and, honestly, the bootleg guy is usually pretty funny).
>>5314871
>you'd think people would want a little variety if they mass armybuild shit
Nope, they want to line a bunch of identical figs up on a baseplate and do, wait for it, fucking nothing with them.
>>5314884
I wonder what would they do if Lego did the same thing with SW figs as with Ninjago or Chima ones where the armybuilder mooks are meant to all have small individual details (shit like the tatoos on cultists and visible bones on some ghosts). I'd honestly love to see that, both because it'd likely look neat and because the reactions here would be hilarious to read.
>>5314521
holy shit, a lego SKUNK!
Raccoons when?!
>>5314890
There's virtually no difference asides from printed legs being added later on between all variants of OT stormtroopers released since the 90s.
CW clone troopers were the only ones actually fun to armybuild because they had all kinds of colored gear that made them less homogenous but still uniform which s perfect, imo - like >>5314892 said it's what works well with generic henchmen in Lego's original themes as well.
>>5314600

NEWSFLASH:
Sources confirm that different people are different!
A leading scientist has released a study conclusively proven that not all people are identical, and are actually prone to have differing opinions! The cheapest one has only two figs, and is actually not that cheap, while the rest are much too expensive for the number of figs you get.

>>5314988

Wasn't this one of the figures people wanted pretty much from the day when it was confirmed there'll be more than one series? I swear I kept seeing ballerinas on all kind of "I wish this was in the blindbags" list for years together with plague doctors and scarecrows so it's odd.
>>5315132
Yeah, I thought it was pretty funny that this wave actually has a ballerina and nobody seems to care.
>>5315132
I like her, she and the farmer are my faves. I'm happy the dress looks like rubber rather than fabric.
Also, can't wait for evil ballerina in a black dress that's bound to come in a few waves.
>>5315132
>>5315134
It's odd, but then few people were excited for the zombie cheerleader and before that series 11 scarecrow, and both that and a female zombie were mentioned on wanted list for ages.
Anyone knows if there'll be another normal CMF series next year, btw? They seem to limit themselves to 3 per year and we already have a Disney one confirmed and for some reason a football one (why football instead of olympics is beyond me) is rumored, and it's safe to assume next year will bring a Ninjago wave to go with the movie.

>>5315388
How many pieces? Once you get a model large enough to start taxing your system it can happen, I'd remove the Falcon from the model temporarily.
>>5315388
You would build that irl if you weren't a soft cunt.
>>5315388
I still think it could use some SNOT-work to make the arrows look angled instead of stepped.

It's a fucking wooden training sword, there was no need to use a new piece of a tan katana or even just the 4 (or 6) stud long bar do the trick fine enough already.
It's a fair argument Ninjago had a lot of keno dudes already but bear in mind that was 4 years ago. It's a long time for a kid so it makes sense to feature something similar after a while, just like there were snake guys for the second time in Nnjago and how CMF got a second samurai, knight, robot or zombie. Or how subthemes in City repeat every 5 years or so (unless it's police, then it repeats like twice a year)

>>5316172
Fair enough but a round hilt katana would have made much more sense. Or like you said when one says it´s just a stick it should have been a Lightsaber in tan or a bar piece with a tan technic axle cross plate. It just doesn´t look right with a blade and a blocky crossguard the same way the AOTC clone pilots look wrong because of the helmet fin.
>>5316252
They don't make round (technically octagonal) hilts anymore, the last one was in series 3. I assume the moulds started to wear off so they've just switched to the less exploited square hilt mold and called it a day (not sur why do you call it bigger though, it seems to be the old katana cut down a bit on the crossguard...). It's not like it's a huge difference anyway, and eastern swords had many different crossguards varieties. They did a pretty awesome job with the print, it looks as close as you can get without making the figure seem unfitting for a Lego set to the real thing, I'm happy with it and I'll get two like I did with the fencers from s13.
Oh wait. You're a person whining about SW troopers. Then it's natural you pay attention to the most stupid details...
>>5316227
if you're interested in mixels, but just haven gotten any way, id say either go for the oldest complete wave, since they'll just go up in price bricklinking. im kinda surprised your store would still have wave 4 to be honest
if you just want a few, like >>5316239
said, clinkers or oribtons are good, if you end up getting a whole tribe, you get an extra build out of it on their site, and they're obviously all themed together, so breaking them into parts works well
i dont know offhand, but generally each wave, theres one or two mixels that have an excess of joints, more than the others. others might have interesting parts you just end up personally liking, like the gold or legs on some of the clinkers.
so look for that if you just want those
>>5316252
But the Japanese used square crossguards, pic related, alongside round and polygon ones and later on there were some instances of western-styled ones. You're grasping at straws like the other guy said.
>>5314871
The point of stormtroopers (and clone troopers before The Clone Wars and ROTS) is that they are all identical. Small differences like different heads and different gear and ammo are nice in the Mandalorian and all Rebel trooper battlepacks but Stormtroopers are massproduced, the only things that are ever different are battle damage and rank emblems.
Lego released a new Stormtrooper variant in nearly every set since 2012 which caused butthurt as well.
At least they finally perfected the design with the version that is in the Slave One and Advent Calendar (though they could still bother printing the hips like in the Imperial Inspection set from 10 years ago) and it would be easy to make a battlepack though now they make a battlepack in which 2 of 4 figures are stormtroopers and all of them have the same battledamage and battledamage looks really dumb when everyone got shot at the same spots.
At least they keep making Star Wars movies set during the OT so they will make this very specific battlepack army builders want eventually.

It's a great eye candy piece, sexy as fuck. Very swooshable too, but if you really are held up on the wings and bands, apparently there's easy fixes out there for it. >had a Lego AT-AT as a kid
>it was constantly being knocked over and over again by the dog
>I kept re-building it and it kept being knocked over
I still remember the rage I had back then, model related, best AT-AT model made desu

>Am I the only one here who absolutely despises these flick fire guns?
While I've been vocal about them, I actually don't hate the Stud Shooters themselves.
As Minifig gunstocks go, they are semi customizable via adding bits to the muzzle, and their gimmick isn't too bad all things considered...
...What pisses me off though is how they are not the ONLY weapons we're getting in Star Wars Battlepacks...
The Chima Battlepacks had the best idea; Have one or two guys with Stud Shooters and give the rest other weapons!
>>5317816
I just feel as though they are a little goofy looking is all, I prefer the realistic plastic weapons

I had the Attack of the Clones equivalent. I built it at the table outside. After I had finished building it, I went inside for five minutes and when I came back my dingus boxer dog had actually, for some reason, knocked the whole table over and the thing had shattered all over the pavement and into the garden.
>>5317822
I do too, but it is an easily produced gimmick that sells.

This must be JJ's fat friend he threw a bone to by casting as a pilot.

Solid effort, underappreciated.

Nice, I found it half off so I ordered one. (before you guys ask, I'm Swedish)
Can't wait to build it. It'll probably look pretty cool next to the Tie.
Just put together the Dr. Who set. Was actually a pretty great build. Lots of neat techniques, minifigures all look great. The Daleks look better than I expected.
Only thing I kind of dislike is the trans backpack for making the Weeping Angel's wings. It makes her neck way too tall. I have some others minifigures using that part from other sets like Hawkman and Space Batman but it wasn't as distracting with them.
If you pick up this set, make sure to build the TARDIS in a bright room, the instructions are difficult to read with the dark blue on dark blue construction. Doesn't help that you do it last so your eyes are already a bit strained.

Armybuilders a the pinnacle of laziness when it comes to lego. Hell, I'd bet even the trainfags laugh at how boring these guys are. There's literally nothing fun, interesting, creative or inspiring about a minifg army. ESPECIALLY when they're just standing there not doing anything. There's nothing impressive about collecting an assload of the exact same thing and arranged them neatly.
Armybuilders are only slightly worse than the people who build replicas of things from real life. But that an autistic rant for another day.

To think his fans gave him the first two rows probs covered in shit and dirt.

It's ok to be jelly of someone better than you, anon.

The standard SW blaster looks like shit
The best sci-fi Lego guns are the cmf raygun and that other blaster which you can attach binoculars to, they should've been using these in black in SW and call it a day.
>>5318006
While that rant is autistic, what exactly this guy is better at than most people here asides from spendng money on buildable blocks to not build with them?
Also, what's the point of amrybuilding if you don't try to make every guy unique but simultaneously uniform...? That's where the fun comes from with castle armybuilding, imo

He did make a rather ok Kasshyk Moc but other than that I think he armybuilds most of the time.
So, the lego customer assistance is clueless about what's going on with wall-e.
I contacted them last month to get the bricks for the new head joint (with the ball thing) and they sent me 2 clicky hinge bricks for the neck.
i wrote them back to specify that i was asking for the parts to make the modification mentioned in the last ideas blog post
https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/1-blog/post/48
and they just called me saying that there are only fan made neck joints and that customer assistance was told the only replacement parts to be sent to customers are the clicky hinges.
I told the lady to look at the latest ideas blog pointing out that there is an official new head joint build with instructions, and she basically knew nothing about it and now they're sending me just the ball piece i think, just because i mentioned the ball. She said to write again in case i need other bricks.
Basically they don't know what's going on with the design update.

Just look at that death machine!
>>5317790
I can't stand them either. I've been amassing a huge army of stormtroopers over the years and I hate having a ton of stud shooters I need to swap out for regular blasters
>>5318021
That's all I got for my "fix" too. It diddnt really help a ton. Oh well. I keep my wall e on a shelf most of the time anyway.
>>5317971
I do not get the appeal of armybuilding. What is so fun about collecting the same thing 1,000 times and just having them stand on baseplates not doing anything interesting?
>>5318096
realize this is a world where people collect flowers that they have flattened
deals, size, display, hell, just sense of completion on finishing another platoon or squad or whatever the army is based on
spess fights is the worse example, because theres no variation, but anons have posted for example, knight armies here, with mounted units, archers, generic knights, and mercenary here
while not exactly the same, its still armybuilding
that being said, i think its retarded but hey, i just built a lego set for 6 year old girls yesterday

Just ignore OP and do the Friends challenge if you want.
I am going to.
>>5317982
Well fuck you buddy...
>>5318076
Exactly, I'd love it if they split the armament half and half instead...
Kids still get Stud Shooters to shoot guys with, while it halves the amount of Blasters Army Builders need to buy extra.
...Of course, knowing Lego, they'd give us those damned blaster RIFLES instead...
>>5318096
Uh, you FIGHT them, duh...

>goat legs
one step closer to having a complete monster girl harem
>>5317130
why would you buy something fully expecting it to be lame
>>5319628
most likely because they're only 5 dollars, less on clearance for old waves
not alot of money to try something out
