I am not sure if this is the right forum, but I am looking for a dollhouse (kit, guide, pre-made) suitable for beginners to give as a present. I have plenty of time to construct it, and a budget of $200 or so just for the house. I appreciate any advice!
>>5294329
You'll probably want to go to a specialty forum where the users are nerds who are knowledgable about their hobby. This is just a dumping ground for shitposts and autism.
Hobby Lobby and Michaels(assuming you're in the US) both carry various dollhouses, both premade and assembly kits. Past that I have zero experience with them to say what brands or styles to look out for.
Miniatures.com is another option, and eBay/Amazon surely have listings as well.
>>5294329
I hope you can find what you're looking for OP. Have you tried the BJD general thread? That may be up your alley.
I like the fossil in your pic, is it yours?
Anybody ever get a wrong package? A princess peach arrived at my house today from Toys R Us that I never ordered. The billing address was someone from a different state that I don't know. Some sort of mix up with processing the order maybe?
>>5287244
A few years back I had a book sent to me from Amazon which I didn't order and the receipt inside was addressed to someone else. The one and only time it has happened.
>>5287244
One time I BST'd with someone and the package kept going from one state to another. it was likely due to me sending two packages at the same time (despite being labeled differently) and i guess the tracking system somehow registered them both to one address. a simple phone call fixed it though

Maybe someone sent you a gift?

Might as well post it again while I'm still up.
Minor update on Link's gear. Swapped out a few things(shovel, quiver, camera), added some(arrow, two forms of stick, masks, scissors, Skull Kid's hat, fire pit).
If anyone wants to know the source of anything in the picture, I'll do my best to oblige them with the list.

you should customize a beyblade to use as his Spinner from TP!

What's on the worktable /toy/?
Post your projects here, whether they're works in progress, fixes, mods, or accessories.
Give advice, share tips, ask for help or guidance, and go for it!
Here's some tips from the previous threads:
For sculpting: use 2-part epoxy putty like Aves apoxie or fixit.
For tools: try a basic carving/sculpting set like the kind arts & crafts stores have.
Dental tools have also been said to work well.
Also, using a Dremel is recommended. Minimites (the small $20-25 ones) are fine for starting out, but the battery life is poor. Upgrade to a corded one only if you want to get deeper into customizing. They are useful for stuff outside of the hobby though, so it's a good investment regardless.
For paints: use acrylics. Paint in multiple, thin coats. Brands like Vallejo/P3/Citadel are recommended, because of pigment quality.
Use a sealer when finished to protect your work. There are matte varieties and sealers that give a glossy look. As with painting, use multiple thin coats.
A flex shaft attachment on a Dremel is a godsend and relatively inexpensive. The grinding shield is also pretty useful, but you can improvise one using a cut open soda bottle.
Also, there is a guide in the works, by mellow

Give feedback/critiques to help improve it.
To start off, here's some progress on my Rachnera. I'm working on making the legs more slender than they were before, so I just shaved them down and started over. I also sculpted in more hair. Other than that, I've mostly just been adjusting the movement range and tightening the peg holes. I'm working on painting up the eyes next.
Is this set worth it?
I feel like this seems a decent package for GotG minifigures, but I'm not sure about the main ship, is it decently designed? Big enough? Is the build any enjoyable? This is in my christmas whishlist but I still haven't decided...
>>5301174
>I'm not sure about the main ship,
It was a day one buy for me
>is it decently designed?
Just look at that sleek mother fucker.
>Big enough?
Seats 4 out of five Guardians (sorry Groot) but not much else.
>Is the build any enjoyable?
S'okay I suppose.
>>5301191
Thank you very much!
>>5301174
Depends if you liked the design of the Milano, it's okay to build, pretty simplistic since it's very modular, but it still is a very good looking model, imo. I'm just not a big fan of the guardians figures since they use the design from the last scenes of the movie, but dat ronan, man.
What's your experience with foreign used sites, /toy/? I found stuff I really want on mandarake for good prices, but I'm apprehensive about ordering it because there's no pictures of what I'm getting and the descriptions are minimal at best.
>>5300679
yeah mandarake is pretty shitty, that's why nobody ever uses it.
>>5300714
If you're not trolling, can you elaborate?
And how does it compare to something like Jungle?
>>5302973
Anon you stupid son of a bitch, he is making fun of you.
I think the complexities of collecting Japanese toys might be too much for you, stick with whatever you can get at Walmart or Toys-R-Us or wherever.
I said I was going to bite the bullet and go for it and damn was he worth it. Also S.H. Monsterarts pictures thread.
>>5300427
Ah I must've missed the photo thread. My apologies.
Who else here finds that this line is surprisingly fun? I'll be posting a few of the great things I've found, feel free to weigh in.
Just picked up pic related off eBay, minus accessories. Wish I could have gotten a snake and some of the bat tokens, but I got it for about 26 bucks shipped, so I'm not going to complain too much.
Features on a fully loaded one include fold-up for carrying around(or creative scene setting), lights and sounds from the gorilla that also have him firing little bat tokens from his mouth, a trap cliff, a windable spider thread, and the straight sticks are there so you can stick a little helix-shaped snake on the top and watch it wind down it.
>>5299428
And for those curious, it's called Gorilla Mountain, sorry about that. I'll be giving the names as I go.
Pic related is Tentaclor, which has a drop-down jaw that you can fit figures in, waving tentacles, light-up eye, basically a lot of personality packed into it. I've seen it on clearance a few places for $15, but haven't pulled the trigger.
And here's the Battle Rover, which is just an insane piece of work. Removable saucer with firing discs, interactive bridge, bunch of little odds and ends and huge.
I managed to grab one for $20, keep your eyes open.

What are the best 6 inch Batman figures out there?
Mezco
i'm partial to the capullo series one myself. the batman and son batman is nice as well
>>5297441
If you are looking for the best, then >>5297464 is completely right. However, there are a lot of variations across the DCC lines so there should be something that fits what you are looking for. The current Designer series are good, I prefer the joints on Jae Lee's one; I would steer so clear from any of the animated film ones that they have been doing because they are just a glorified hunk of plastic that break at a moments notice. In saying that, The Animated Series ones follow from the same problem but at least have a nice aesthetic to them
welp
DCC is done

Reposting question because no response:
Three kits to topcoat, a frame arms, a FAG, and an MG. How many cans of TS80 to order? Two? Three?
>>5292280
how do you plan on coating? Part by part? After the whole thing is built? While on the runner?
How competent are you at spraying from a can? What kits? How OCD are you?
Bet you haven't found this guy yet!

Ugly as shit! I hate colored stormtroopers. Keep that shit in the prequels.
>>5288734
That's because he's not out yet. Hasbro announced that he wont be out in time for the Battlefront release.
I bought him today at walmart, he's a walmart exclusive and has double jointed elbows.
How would I find or locate a physical store that sells japanese or otaku merchandise? Its not like the yellow pages is that useful for this.
The only place locally in WPB, FL is Zen Garden
Frank's n Sons is about a half hour away from where I am. Some stuff's overpriced, but decent enough prices on Gunpla.

I love that place but fuck the ebay and convention prices.
Revoltech or Monsterarts Predator?
>>5281796
Are you blind?
>Left side has huge square in stomach, black ball elbows, comically oversized helmet, and is a midget
>Right side does not have those things
>>5281796
They're not even the same character, for one thing. Revoltech is the Jungle Hunter. Monsterarts is the Wolf Pred from AvP: R.
But anyway, the Revoltech is just a fucking mess on all fronts. Avoid it.
>>5281804
Ye, but what about the articulation? If it's better on the Revo, I can look past the aesthetic flaws.
