what is this? Casca from alt-timeline where Guts perished?
What kind of accents should dwarves actually have?
>>53593204
Depends on where they're from.
>>53593204
Yiddish accents.
>>53593226
Yeah, I'm going to vote for the Yiddish accent, too. Dwarves are short little bearded men with a bunch of incomprehensible rituals and traditions who have a reputation for loving gold that is not helped by their other reputation for being excellent jewelers. Dwarves are Jews.

A few months ago I took part in a challenge on /qa/ to go to a board I never browsed and spend 20 minutes there.
These fantasy GF threads are some seriously depressing shit. No wonder nobody wants to date those guys.
>>53593018
I just thought the idea of ancient lovecraftian horrors turning out to be not entirely incomprehensible to mortals and trying to get along with them despite still having many differences between the two to be an interesting concept.
Cyberpunk 2020 thread?
Post your stories, resources, and all of that other cool stuff.
ayyyy
so im trying to get into the game i alredy get the basic, what books i need to play i well, i have:
Blackhand's Street Weapons 2020
Solo of fortune I and II
Rulebook 2.1
Deep Space: The Interplanetary Supplement
also what´s in chrome books exactly?
Hello?
is anybody there?
Cyberpunk is a cool setting but honestly a pretty shit system. You're better off using something like Shadowrun. Yeah it's got magic and orcs and shit but at least the system isn't just rolling attribute+d10 for everything.
Hey /tg/, I'm trying to build a D&D 4e character with the general theme of a winged hussar, and I'm looking for some advice.
Initially I thought it'd be simple, Strength based Spear Paladin with mounted combat and all that good stuff, but it's rapidly proving more complicated than I expected.
Apparently a lot of Paladin's awesome mounted combat was sliced off and locked behind the Essentials Cavalier, which sucks, and the stuff that remains or that I can get access to keys off Cha.
Then there's Spears/Polearms, which key off Dex, on top of also needing Constitution and Wisdom for other Paladin bits and bobs. It's left me in quite a kerfuffle.
So, uh, any suggestions? I'm not aiming for optimisation or top tier builds, but looking to effectively represent the concept as well as possible with the mechanics available to me.
I suppose I should add that we're using the standard Expertise and Improved Defences bonus feats, along with Inherent Bonuses.
>>53592616
Well first things first, you need a lance. It'll give you 1[W] more damage on a charge, but -2 attack while not mounted (which you shouldn't be). Then I'd pick Half-Orc for all the juicy melee bonuses and STR and DEX bonuses for using spears. Also, I'd go with a fighter instead of a paladin since paladin won't give you any other mounted bonuses and going fighter will just make you suffer less from MAD. You'll also be less survivable without Lay on Hands, but you should be able to rely on your Half-Orc abilities and the party Leader for that.
>>53593122
Then what you'll do is open combat with a charge for a bunch of damage, then continue with At-Wills and Encounters.
Explain to me why your game is better than D&D. I explicit terms. If you're going to highlight a negative of D&D, you better point out how your game does it better.
Its wizards are kickass but can't cast spells to solve every problem because Chaos and Perils and shit.
>>53592109
Better than which D&D?

>playing 5e campaign with a party comp is basically paladin, fighter, bard and rogue.
>DM decides to do a sort of mystery session, where the party volunteers to investigate a murder case because the paladin is a righteous prick
>go around town and investigate, gather up three different leads from the guard's prime suspect (the victim's father) thanks to the paladin's Zone of Truth
>The leads are: A farmer and his wife, a drow who lived on the outskirts of town and kept to himself and a minor noble/rich guy who was a bit infamous for having a bad temper and had an abusive relationship with the wife.
>we decide to talk to all of them, gather a bit of information from all of them. Farmer seemed a bit confused and hesitant, so we decide to talk to his wife instead.
>one of the party members gets the idea of getting the rogue to disguise himself as the farmer and walk around the house to gather papers
>we all think it's a brilliant idea, bard helps him out as the party ensembles a plan.
>rogue enters the house while fighter and paladin go and distract the farmer
>bard is somewhere in the middle, making sure things go to plan
>as the rogue finds some papers and is on his way out to steal it, wife comes along
>players didn't expect this, rogue decides to play along and try to impersonate his husband with some good roleplaying and a passable roll
>wife doesn't seem to suspect a thing
>they have a short conversation and, all of the sudden, the wife brings up the memory of their child
>what
>apparently, their kid died in an accident
>DM roleplays this and describes it so fucking well, saying how the wife looked like she was holding back tears and expressing the way that she misses her child and that she felt guilty for what happened
>the rest of the table is dead silent
>rogue tries not to cry and hugs wife
>after the scene was over, everyone was silent for a few moments
I know it may not be super sad, but it was unexpected and the DM did a great job at it.

If sentience, sapience, self awareness makes us human compared to other animals or robotic drones, would it mean that if an artificial being had that capability, would it or they be called 'human', at least in a psychological and ethical sense? And following up on that line of thought, will robots/AI be able to feel love, /tg/? Will they be capable of understanding it? If so, would it be the same love that humans feel? What would be the difference?
>>53587392
>would it or they be called 'human', at least in a psychological and ethical sense?
No, they'd still be called robots, but now they would be "people" or "persons".
Human is just the common name for the animal we are.
>>53587392
I need to finish that manga.
>>53587392
I don't think a robot could truly feel emotions like a human. Sure it can be programmed to think it has emotions, but those wouldn't be real ones just numbers. Changing the integer in its #var_like wouldn't come even close to approximating the depth of genuine human emotions.

Has anyone ever tried to run or integrate any mechanics from Dark Souls?
I'm running a game in D&D 3.5(please don't turn this into which edition is better).
There's something similar in my game that's close to the Dark Sign, but none of the PC's have caught it yet.
I guess my two questions are
-What should trigger the players getting it?
- How to implement the effects of hollowing onto the PC?
>>53586654
>(please don't turn this into which edition is better)
then why the fuck did you include the edition you were playing?
for the record i wholeheartedly think fourth edition is the best D&D
>>53586654
You should clarify the mechanics of the dark sign, so people know what you're talking about exactly.
>>53586654
>What should trigger the players getting it?
The games never specify how people get it. Some places it's implied it's something you're born with, other places make it seem like a literal brand that can be put on someone, and it's even possible that both or neither of those are true. It's a big unanswered question so you can do whatever you want. Do you have an equivalent to bonfires as well where players with the darksign would respawn? If so just have the first character that dies disintegrate and show up at the last one they were at.
>How to implement the effects of hollowing onto the PC?
This is harder because you have three (or four if you wanna count soul vs. body form in DeS) mechanics to choose from, as well as the loss of mental function that was never implemented mechanically. So specify what game you want hollowing to be most like and this'll be easier to answer.
Alright brothers in darkness, let's talk about our spikey boys and how they're fairing so far in 8th edition.
Our Terminators look to have gotten substantial improvements. Are they viable en-mas now? Because I've got like half dozen units just sitting on my shelf collecting dust and I'd love to break them out again.
Did the whole community die or something?
>>53585633
Fingers crossed we don't get a Nurgle explosion along the lines of AOS popKhorne party. I'd like to see some new models love spread evenly across all the spikey boys
>>53587351
Theyre all on the general threads now which is heresy of the highest degree.

What are you hyped for? I was let down that you couldn't have the same warband for Inquisitors, but at the same time I'm pretty pumped for Acolytes with Power Mauls and Plasma Pistols busting out hard. Not sure where to get models to represent them however.
>>53585496
You can build acolytes out of any human soldier pretty much.
