Dear /tg/,

ave you ever played with people that shouldn´t play pen and paper games ? That guys, normies or other scum ?

I am in the middle of a Call of Cthulhu-Game with some of the most annoying people that I have ever witnessed. My character is so close to just shooting them and ending the game.

Will be back with more

I dunno, I've had good experiences with my rugby team so far. I've ran a couple of simple campaigns with them and they seem to have a lot of fun, their sense of wonder and surprise is both endearing and entertaining.
Still, I wouldn't recommend you playing with anyone, only with those that you know that are nice and will have fun. If you invited your highschool bullies, it was your mistake.

You've managed to settle into something of a comfortable pace in your life following your meeting with Ciara. During the days you further her training as much as you can. You're impressed by the way she improves. You spend more time on this than you originally thought you would. But it's routine and it manages to keep your mind off of what your life used to be. You walk Ciara to and from work every night she has it, and an incident has yet to repeat itself since she and you began your arrangement.

After Nate returns home in the evenings, you begin to spend time with him as well. Not in quite the same capacity as Ciara, but he's useful in his own way. He shows you around Portland, occasionally inviting friends of his own around to spend time with the two of you as well, and you learn better how to blend in with other humans. Brother and sister both have learned not to ask of your past, and it seems that's how you work.

In the night hours though, between the times you pick up Ciara and leave Nate to his own devices, you patrol. At first you make it an excuse. Bring War to the unjust, keep your skills honed so they don't fall away from you, be prepared for wherever the road that you're on goes. As the days go by however, it's harder to hide from the truth: the violence is your way of coping with being abandoned by everything you'd ever known. The patrols keep you from lashing out at Ciara and Nate. You don't take nights off because deep down you know you enjoy it, more than anything else you've done in the short time you've been alive.

You find yourself tonight farther out from the city center and the small ghetto that you've come to reside in on a lead. Unfortunately not the kind that would lead you back to the Clergy or MacTaggart, but another one that's been just as much of a pain. Dealers in your area have led you to an industrial facility several miles away, abandoned by what public records shows.

In reality the facility's become a drug warren, a major production plant for methamphetamine. You've found several such labs already, and they seem to be a blight. It's so easy to produce, easier to get wrong, and the chemical cocktail oh so volatile. More than once has an operation almost literally exploded in your face due to these factors.

This place seems to have their stuff together, though. Just watching the facility from your vantage point has revealed people in and out. Some have the tell-tale smells and looks of people dealing directly with the drug. Others are too fit, too clean to be anything other than muscle.

You need to move soon.

Is Liliana Vess a tragic hero in the Aristotlian sense?

In other words, a true tragic character is one whose downfall was brought about by their own traits and circumstances, not through the circumstances of others.

A quest for power will do that to a lot of people.

I just recently got back into magic twords the end of theros block after a long hiatus, Ive been trying to research and get cards from the sets that I missed, but after looking at the spoilers for dragons maze, why did people dislike it so much? It seems like it has a lot of interesting cards.

Why the hate /tg/?

There's a variety of reasons, but mainly because it came after Return to Ravnica and Gatecrash, which were both very well received sets (Gatecrash a little less so) so in comparison Dragon's Maze was a little underwhelming.

However the fact of the matter was the vast majority of the cards in the set just weren't powerful enough, or efficiently costed enough, to make an impact in Constructed. The split cards were cool but Turn//Burn was the only one that saw any real play as the others just didn't do enough for their mana costs. Likewise for the Maze Runner cycle, they felt more like they were pitched towards Commander than Standard.

Basically while a lot of the cards look big and flashy, in practice they ended up not being as cool as you hoped they would be. Apart from Voice of Resurgence which was just all kinds of annoying and another sign that Wizards had abandoned their original design philosophy towards Mythics and just started treating them more like 'Super Rares.'

So as a primary EDH player, would it be stupid to buy my GF an 80$ box of this for us to play sealed with and then use in EDH decks?
>>
>>44175232

Yes it would actually. Voice is the only card that is actually worth money in this set, so the only way you're likely to get a good deal out of that purchase is if you open two of them, and some number of Shocklands (some of the DGM packs had shocklands in the land slot) which off the top of my head you'd have a roughly 10% chance of happening. You're better off just buying the cards you actually want from DGM and saving yourself like $60. Especially since you're supposed to play DGM sealed along with GTC and RTR, playing it by itself sounds like it'd be god awful.

We need to kill that Artefact before it dooms this planet and us with it! Now, does anybody know how we actually -do- that? Whatever we were trying didn't seem to work!

We used to writefag a long time ago before it was banned. I made roll-threads that had those 10x10 grids, roll a number and you write a story about the character you got.

I remember we were held back by character limits and had to four-post our stories, some went longer.

Alas, 2008 it died. I went to /k/ and /co/ and never looked back. Mods wanted /tg/ to be a quest place, and I supported it at first. But then I left.

That's a story for you.

>>44174484

Because I've been through all the interesting threads and I don't feel like playing video games before work. MTG card threads and to to see if any of the old artfags are still around. They don't get on their stream channels until evening.

>Can anyone give me a decent rundown on Fury of Dracula?

Yes. Don't run it, it's a bad adventure. We struggled through it ourselves and ended up canning the game half way through and moving on to something else.

> decent horror games

Well, it's more a style of GMing, of sublety and nonconfrontation. Don't let the player see the monster until it is too late. Add in creepy effects like broken televisions that make static that you can almost here a voice in, photos with weird shit in the background, etc.. Just all kinds of fucked up shit.

Anyway, good horror RPGs:

> Call of Cthulu (of course)
> GURPS
> not Dread
> not Paranoia (dunno why people even suggest that one)
> not Don't Rest Your Head
> not End of the World games
> definitely not World of Darkness

Honestly, though, a horror campaign depends far more on the GMing technique used rather than the system itself.

Hello everyone. BMJ here.

At the end of this month/early next month, I plan to release a new draft of AdEva. This is planned to be the last draft of the core books for a while, as after that I am going to shift focus to the OD book, and the Player and GM books will not be touched again until OD is ready for playtesting.

Before that happens, does anyone have any feedback on things that they strongly feel need to be fixed or included in the game before I put the core books on a shelf for what is probably going to be more than a few months?

For those not already up to speed, the current draft can be found here:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/p2r43tp08axwp1d/Adeptus+Evangelion+V3+-+Open_Beta_04.rar

As always, thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you!

Hello /tg/ I've been a longtime lurker of the community, and recently due to an infatuation with early Russian history, I've wanted to start by seeing whether or not anyone would be interested, in a quest about it. This primarily covers the Early Muscovite period, in the middle to late Mongol Yoke. This period in time is where most of the Russian Asiatic culture gets its roots. Here's to hopefully a slightly informative, and hopefully fun alt-history adventure.

You are the son/daughter of Russian immigrants, who emigrated from the Soviet Union after its collapse in 1991. After arriving in the states, your parents would establish their careers before they had you, after half a decade adjusting to life in the United States. Your parents always encouraged you to adapt to American culture, and since you were born they talked to you about being glad you lived in the United States. Your parents are reasonably well off, and your life was spent in a relatively sheltered environment. However your parents encouraged you to go out and expand your knowledge through any means. Still though, they taught you how to speak/read/and write in Russian. Making sure you take pride in your cultural heritage. To this day, you are proud to say you are a first generation American, but also a first generation college student. Your parents never went to college, in fact your father and mother in the Soviet Union worked as civil servants. Today however, your father works as a System Threat Analyst for a very important Technical firm on the East Coast of the United States. Your mother works as an executive at a major accounting firm in the local area. Your family although not extremely wealthy, is still well off by today’s standard. However you are actually the first generation of both their families to go to University. So today begins a very important day in your life and hopefully a path to a bright future.
You wake up to your alarm. Its excessive ringing over the past 12 years you have had the cursed thing has woken you up time and time again for middle and high school. However today is a very important day. Today is the day you start your new life at University.

“_____, come down and get something to eat!” yells your mother in her usual Russian. You begin to get out of bed and make your way to your bathroom. You look into the mirror and begin to start your morning routine.
