It says a lot how Burlew's writing is so predictable that even the character with a negative wisdom modifier can roast it with alarming accuracy.
>>44181358
So meta. It burns.

I would say "finally" but it's about 5 strips too late
What's the closest thing to play a tabletop rpg campaignby yourself? No players, only you, acting as both the DM and player.

Write a book, if you're unsure on how to proceed, roll a die.
>>44181225
Well there's open world games:
Dwarf Fortress
Skyrim / Oblivion / Morrowind / Fallout / etc.
Or the straight RPGs:
Planescape Torment
KOTR
Shadowrun Dragonfall and Hongkong
Baldur's Gate
Dragon Age Origins
Or you could just make up an entirely fictional campaign, write it up as if it was an actual storytime, compulsively respost it, and shit TG up with an assload of reddit fanboys.
I'd recommend DF.

Kobolds went from goblin imp things into rats into draconic fodder,
orks went from deformed humans, to pig people, to tusked giants
Why doesnt your setting put a twist on some established and frankly boring races
>Elves
instead of hitlers funland of having everyone tall, white blue eyed and blonde in my setting elves are only humanoid in shape
Tall, youthful, pointed ears and straight hair, soft smooth skin that can change colour ranging from blue to red, usually like a mood-ring adjusting to body temp, They are adept at magic from birth and are essentially immortal, if a little fragile. along with their long life they are slow to regenerate but can regenerate entire limbs.
Why not try Reverse-Vampires?
> Need to be in constant light to survive.
> Scared of blood.
> Completely vegan and will pester you about it.
> Sleep in baby cots.
> Turn into mackeral.
> Somehow have seriously good skin.
> Incisor teeth are just an extra pair of molar.
>>44180875
other than the mackeral sounds like arun of the mill hippie.
humans instead of being the template and every other thing being humanoid, humans are a gross bipedal offshoot of a weird fleshy dragon and dragons are the template
Why do dragons in movies tend to be beastlike murdermonsters with no intelligence?
The traditional dragon you'd see in something like LOTR or D&D is highly intelligent, but 99% of movie dragons are about as smart as an angry bear.
>>44179817
That seems inaccurate. What dragon movies come to mind to you, exactly? Because I think Flight of Dragons, Hobbit, Dragonheart, How to Train your Dragon and Reign of Fire. Which is only 20% mindless-monster. The other one that comes to mind is the one from Angel, which I'm pretty sure he ended becoming bros with, later on.
So I'm not sure what the hell you're talking about.
>>44179864
Dragonheart,
>>44179864
Maybe I'm over-exaggerating because of how much it annoys me when it happens, I guess.
Would be a plausible alternative history possible, where infantry and not cavalry/knights dominate the battlefields? (Medieval/Europe)
Horses are really stronk (although expensive)
Stronk focused on a lance head is pretty fun
Plus walking is for poor and gays
Horses also tall, if you tall on horse people listen to you
Simple, just don't have horses around, or they aren't suitable for riding.
>>44179842
In that case people would just ride camels, or elephants, or big goats

Thread Topic: Bosses in Shadowrun: Do you pull them off? How do they get there? Should they stay in other games that support them better?
>>44178675
I mean, there's plenty of room in Shadowrun to come up with one-note gimmicks, the kind of character no GM would allow a player to take but who are perfect for a counter-runner.
I don't understand the issue; you just use standard mooks, then add your special boss on top for a bit of spice and challenge. Unless they are the active agents (hunting the runners) then it's easy to fit them into a run.

>>44178675
Shadowrun's so lethal that it's honestly kind of underwhelming a lot of the time. Scary bad guys most often are the mental types. That said, I have put in some Real Badasses who the players probably shouldn't attack, and then waited for the players to come up with a way to turn the fight unfair.
What if Shadowrun was written and owned by Square Enix?
Linear storyline with a shitload of sidequests.
Campaigns would be grinds until your numbers can beat the BBEG's numbers, and in the meantime you work out the finer point of Chocobo husbandry.
Everyone would have a stat for Belts and a stat for Zippers.
A human would stand a chance against a dragon.

Elves here. Shaman of the pack, or no?
>>44178746
Not elves here. Its a bit win-more, but it's a decent way to go over the top

Does anyone play MUD looks fun, but I don't want to invest that type of money if its not viable.
Is it ever okay to include a vilisemen in your game?
>>44177863
Include? Yeah. But it shouldn't be main plot point. No semen should.
>>44177863
Well, I wouldn't.

Because I'm not a Heretic.
So, his ability just shits on Hangarback, right?

well, duh

I'm pretty sure Hangarback Walker is a nontoken creature when it tries to go to the graveyard.
Nm, Hangarback's 'shit out tokens' clause activates at death
Rules
1. Game Change: Switching each turn to a season, I think this is going to make things a lot better.
2. I will launch each season with a random event.
3. For you to take a valid turn you must link the new season random event and use the following format.
"Research"
"I want to research this type of technology"
(include a 1d20 roll if you wish to research)
"Build"
"I WIsh to build this random thing"
(No role required but you must have appropriate material)
"Trade"
"These are the trades I agreed upon last season"
(You can make as many as you want but they do not take effect untill you list them in your action the following turn"
"Citizen/people"
"I want to explore this/attack tha/ Build ships"
(This is how you use your population, Note exploring territory does not make it yours untill you sieve it with troops.)
4. You must have a name and a trip code. If two people claim the same spot It will go to the first person with a trip code
There will be no random event this spring,
As the arctic air loosens it's clutches on the land, everybody can breath a sigh of relief.
Water above y5 is still frozen

Now that Greenland has given us access to its Steam Engine technology, we set about researching how to make a vehicle to run across our rails by steam power
In exchange, we use our build action to build a foundry for Greenland on their northern isle
Lastly we build more ships, as we have too few

Who is your favorite Yozi and why, /tg/?
As well has anyone had Devil Tigers work out in their game or is it always a trainwreck?
>>44176116
The only Devil Tiger I've ever had work out was an NPC, who my players chose to help.
>>44176116
>who is your favorite Yozi
Pic related, there is just something so deeply cathartic about knowing a being exists that is literally "the absence of all virtue". I'm all for complex antagonists with their own motives and nuanced viewpoints. But every once in a while it feels good to know your characters oppose the cosmic principle of "being an absolute dickbag"
