The sight and the environment of the metro have become a bit unnerving for you now.
Having basically spent most of your time awake in the asphyxiating underground system of this world probably equates spending a day in prison.
Except that the people in prison are probably a tad more agreeable.

A bit further down the wagon, a guy is loudly having sex with a girl who’s just as loud as he is.
The Priest is plainly pretending not to notice, but the stupidity coming out of their mouths is too much for you to ignore them.
It’s like they’re uttering profanities and obscenities for the twisted sake of just uttering them.

Normally you wouldn’t have a problem with that, or with sex in general, but this… this something else.
“This is something else”, the Priest echoes your thoughts.
“Hm?”

“See, they’re hentai characters”
“Hentai?”
“Uh… porno cartoons”
“Aaah!”, you nod. “So… chicks with dicks”
“Y-yeah, well it’s not the case here. This is just a rape”
“A rape? But the girl is begging for more, I can clearly hear her”
“That’s not how rape works in this world.”

To stunned to reply, you just nod again and crawl back inside your thoughts.
‘A warrior whose heart is pure. I am sure the guy at the tavern will do just fine’.
Speaking of the tavern, you’re reminded of the fact that reaching it at night can be potentially dangerous.
The Priest ignores it, but there’s at least one powerful ‘heretic’ roaming the streets at night. Granted, one that wasn’t exactly hostile at you, but nevertheless an enemy.

Who is your enemy in these circumstances? At least one group here is lying. It’s either the Priest and his Goddess, or the black-robed witch who cornered you a few days ago. There’s no way to tell who’s is who, especially because the fuckers down the wagon are so goddamn noisy.
>>

It’s becoming so unbearable that you can hardly hear yourself think. The Priest is shrinking on his own seat, by now walking the narrow line between sanity and madness. You, on the other hand, have other plans.

>Stare the idiots until they get uncomfortable
>try to talk to the Priest to help him out of his embarrassment
>get out at the next stop and wait for the next metro.

You are Sallazar, a young wizard who has recently left the army. You have taken a teaching job at Egwen Girls Convent.

In addition the Headmaster of the school wants you to run the schools adventurers club, to give some of the schools more unusual girls something fun to do.

It's a week after New Gods Solstice and the guests have all gone home, well, other than that girl Chame has befriended, Ami. The Headmaster has allowed her to stay temporarily to see what she makes of this place. The other girls have made her welcome but strangely Chame seems uncomfortable with her presence. You're unclear as to why that is.

Something to worry about later, for now you have a new dungeon to prepare for, and the Daves have sent you a whole new list of rules and points tables to wade through.

Seems that the people running the junior league want to try and make this as complicated as possible – rather than encouraging the young adventurers to just get in, get the job done and get out.

Wait how can you get 1 point for a draw but no points if the opposing team doesn't turn up to a challenge match?

Still, at least the 3 objectives bit makes sense, with the time taken used as a tie-breaker...

You pore over the new competition rules, trying to figure them out, as you do your mind wanders, thinking about the girls in the club, and how they've been doing.

Now that she has been through a dungeon, Lucinda is training hard, working on her rapier skills, and also helping organise some of the other girls. It's not long before she'll be forming her own team you think.

One of those she's been working with a lot is Tisania, and you often see them training together, as Lucinda encourages the much shyer girl. Under Lucinda's guidance Tisania is slowly becoming more confident.

Janrael is focusing on her sword-fighting techniques, with the help of Groundskeeper Answick. She's been trying to use her wings to help her deliver some pretty flashy moves; you'll just have to wait and see how effective those are in a real fight.

Safire is learning to fight, under the expert tutelage of Master Telgether. Initially she made little progress, but became really focused when Kittrane started training with her. Master Telgether asked Kittrane to schedule her general workout at the same time as he's been teaching Safire and now the little gem-girl is really in track.

Nataline is working with Sister Mary to develop her powers. It might be a while until she's ready to go adventuring but the other girls really like her and listen to her – whoever she is helping becomes more focused and motivated.

Anlanesa has been practising using her magic when doing her own training, but much of her time has been spent coaching and helping the other girls.

Calluna has displayed the ability to summon creatures that ...resemble elementals and maybe even angels. But they're also so different from either that they could be classified as a separate class of extraplanar creatures entirely. Maybe something from a very far realm. The things she calls don't stick around for long, do whatever she tells them and haven't hurt anyone yet, but you keep a close eye on them just to be sure.

Chame has been trying to gain the others girls trust back by behaving, but she's looking a little stressed. She's also been bringing her new friend with her a lot – that one is no trouble, she just sits quietly and watches what is going on.
>>
Cleya is being a dedicated and sensible girl and studying things that are going to help her be very successful in the adventuring club and in life – namely wizardly magic. She's also become your unofficial assistant: she fetches you coffee, gets scrolls for you and even writes notes for your lesson plans as you muse about them out loud. It's good to see such a dedication to learning.

Evrumine is working out a lot and trying to match Kittrane and Syphoebeus in strength. She has a long way to go, but when she loses her temper she is something else. You wonder if Chame paying a lot of attention to the newcomer has anything to do with it.

Kittrane has been...getting along with the other girls more. Maybe she's mellowing out. Or maybe she just doesn't have much time for picking fights, or perhaps the club provides all the outlet she needs for her more violent nature. Whatever the reason, you've had almost no complaints about her.

Nevyn has been working on her unarmed combat skills with the help of Master Telgether. She has also spent a lot of time hunting with her pack and training them.

Phaysis is excellent with spear or bow and that damned elf even compliments her. You'll need to steer her towards a less primitive path if she wants to make anything of herself.

Phoebe's strength – physical and magical - is increasing as she starts to push herself. You wonder how powerful she will one day become.

A knock at your door startles you out of your reverie.

“Professor...?” says Cleya, standing in the open door “Are you coming to the club meeting?”

“What?! Oh yes, just let me gather a few things” you hastily pile up all the new rules and follow Cleya out to the club house.

XXX

“And those” you finish your speech “are the new league rules – any questions?”

You stand in front of the girls, all sat on hastily arranged chairs and benches, a sea of faces showing varying amounts of confusion, fear, contempt and anger.
>>
There's a drawn out silence. What? no one has any questions, you certainly have questions: like which bunch of drunken idiots wrote the rules so that a club might not qualify for the finals, but a team in that club still could.

Nataline is the first one to raise a hand “Ah, Professor, I might have misunderstood but it seems to me that these rules give an unfair advantage to the schools with larger clubs, after all a club can have multiple qualifying teams in the final rounds, so a large club stands a greater chance of winning the championship.”

You open your mouth to explain, but Chame interrupts “actually a club fielding only 1 team would be able to maintain a perfect per-match score by picking their matches carefully and qualify, and with only a single team the clubs point average per team would be top as well, automatically qualifying them. If the clubs point average is too low, then only the team qualifies and-”

“They can't change their lineup to deal with changing scenarios” Anlanesa finishes, speaking quickly over Chame.

Evrumine wrinkles up her face “that makes no sense.”

“It's bureaucrats makes rules for rules sakes” Kittrane says with a huff “making no sense is the point.”

“Makes perfect sense to me” says Calluna quietly, but you barely hear her as the girls all start to debate the merits, and many flaws of the rules out loud.

“Girls, girls!” you raise your voice to be heard “the upshot of this is that we need every team to win and earn points, not just one: we're going to need some of our novice members to step up, form new teams, and start winning.”

Several of the newer girls look worried as you say that, so you moderate it by adding “and the more experienced members of the club will, I'm sure, help with that, and also join as reserve members.”

Nods all round indicate agreement with this line of thinking.

Cleya raises a hand “Professor, are we picking a new team now?”

“Not permanently” you say “let's try something else first, follow me.”

what do you/your players like about fallout specifically? give us something to go off of.

Okay so, they're in a vault. They get out of the vault. There's raiders and shit. And a town. The town is being attacked. They get key info on where to find the macguffin that'll "save the wasteland." The macguffin is behind a large winding path designed not for fun but to show off the world. But they can just go straight to the macguffin if they knew where it was. Then, when they get there, they have to make a choice. Save one not-well-established faction, but destroy another, or vice versa.

Boom, Fallout plot.

Sorcerers have magic in their bloodline, they can naturally shape the forces of magic almost at will. Druids attune themselves to the ancient forces of nature. Paladins and Clerics pray to their gods to grant them power. Warlocks make pacts with otherworldly beings for their abilities.

Wizards don't do any of that. They take the long way round and discover that, if you speak the right words with just the right pronunciation while making exactly the right gestures with precise amounts of specific items, you can get the universe to do things yourself. They have to memorise their spells, because everything has to be recalled perfectly, and casting in a couple of seconds while under fire in a combat situation doesn't leave much room to consult your spell book. When they have time to read up, they can cast at their leisure, which is why you don't need to have a spell memorised to ritual cast it in 5e. The number of spells a wizard can have memorised is determined by their mental acuity (INT score) and their familiarity with the spells they're casting (their Wizard level).

Does this mean that the best wizards would be the autistic Rainman-types who are generally retarded but can reel off incantations and actions absolutely perfectly from memory for every spell they've ever seen done?

Are the greatest wizards a bunch of socially-crippled super autists?

...Who was the first person to figure this out?
Legitimately. Who thought it would be a good idea to carry around a bag of random shit and practice hand-waving until the universe started to do their laundry?
Seriously, the whole idea of Vancian casting is absolutely ridiculous unless you want to interpret the Weave of Magic as some sort of computer console anyone with enough INT can read and write to, and then you have to deal with people who don't actually 'know' magic figuring out commands that makes things happen the way they want.

Say for a moment that you're planning on running an orc-centric campaign, in the sense that all of the players are orcs, and the setting is basically the orcish homeworld. How would you go about building this world and populating it? Over the top brutality is a must but I'm drawing blanks beyond that.

Is the world stuck in the stone age? Have orcs or ogres or some other race achieved dieselpunk? All very important things to consider.

Help me, /tg/. And discuss orcs while we're at it.

By making everyone a brutal orc you're taking away the fun thing about playing a brutal orc: sticking out like a sore thumb among civilized settings and characters.

I don't see what the upside is from a normal setting or how you'd make it interesting if you can't even get started without the fa/tg/uy brigade.

Your name is Mary.

Rather, that's what humans and your brother call you. You think there's more to it, something fittingly violent for a being such as yourself, but you care little for humans except as playthings.

You are more concerned with the affairs of others like yourself, some call you demons, others spirits, it doesn't matter, the only names you normally have are your symbols, and each of you has some special talent and gift that is as much a part of you as your corporeal form.

Your talent is for Murder, and your gift is Your Dagger. You and your brother are also in the fortunate position to be descended from the current ruler of your people.

You don't care to take over if something happens to him yourself, but you believe your brother would be the perfect candidate for leadership... knowing a persons crimes by looking at them, and with a book that records the crimes of those who take it, he would be able to tell you who is deserving of your punishment, even if he is still young at the moment... which is why when he innocently told you of your cousins bid for the throne... the cousin the mortals refer to as "The First Heretic" and your brother calls Harry... you took him and ran to the mortal plane.

Your cousin knows that you are both in line before him. But he doesn't want to wait to be in charge... it's not what he does. Your cousin cheats.

His worldview is twisted, everything is some great game, not only humans, but your kind too are pawn to him. If your brother hadn't told you, you might have fallen to his wiles yourself. As it was, your closest friends did... and after helping you escape... they slew your brother themselves.

You flew into a rage then, and after piling up their corpses you buried your brother in a small cave, alongside his book. You knew he was too weak to come back... no humans knew about him yet... and as little as you care for them, humanity gives your kind strength.

You returned to the bodies of your old friends… intent on burning them to keep them from ever returning home themselves… when you saw your cousin across the field.

Stepping out of the tree line, calm, collected… he was probably there since the start. You wanted to make the bastard suffer, and you were the best at what you do.

But as the world already knows… he cheats.

He doesn’t kill you immediately after cutting your hand off. First he cuts off your other hand, then your legs, then your arms at the shoulder. After he’s done making you incapable of harming him, he starts to gloat, saying this was the most fun he’s had in a long time but that he’d hoped you would do better than this. He debates to himself whether to burn you, or keep hunting you down every time you return. He tells you he’s already killed your father, and does you the “service” of starting the fire you had prepared for your friends… his pawns… since they've outlived his use for them..

He’s underestimated you though. He left Your Dagger too close to you… and isn’t expecting it when you fling it at him with your teeth… isn’t expecting you to cheat too.

He’s dead now… but he’ll be back… and so will you… it might take a while though, humans that share your body type don’t typically make use of your talent… while for your cousin, humans cheating is going to give him an early and quick refresher on life, he just has to wait for old age to return home and take over… you hope the body you possess isn’t too willful… it could make shutting him down difficult...

Your name is Lucy Cook.

In the back of your mind you can see and feel yourself standing up and wiping blood away from your mouth where you bit your tongue, starting to dig through the dirt and mumbling something you can’t quite catch.

You’re pretty sure you aren’t doing it though. You feel more immediately like you’re floating in some black void… with another girl… one who has to be Mary with her pure white features… staring blankly at you from 5 meters away. She has an ornate dagger in her hand, and seems to be clutching it tightly.

What do you do?

I know that a lot of thing about some species depends on the setting but I think that my questions are kinda general for everybody.

1.How are Elves immortal exactly ? Is it that they have something magical in them or is their biological system really special

2. How the hell dont elves overpopulate any setting they are in since they are immortal and reproduce sexually ? is it because they only have x time of being fertile or is something else ?

3. Why dont elves get bored after living for so long ?

You bought some more clothes, and visited the shop to consult with your advisors. You decided to sell the Orsani weapons to the Croats, who are currently embroiled in a heavy civil war. After going to see Mario Boboni, Francesca’s father, you got permission to start the courtship.

Returning to the shop with Francesca in tow, you find that Otto had been caught trying to set fire to your warehouse. You were to decide over his fate: to kill him, to maim him, or try and use him as a tool to murder Matteo Orsani. You didn’t know what to do, until Francesca encouraged you to kill him. You did the deed yourself, dumping his body in the water afterwards. You took Francesca home, where she comforted you in more than one way. The following morning, the two of you decided to get married.

The following day, the shipment swap went through. Instead of stealing 10 crates, a couple of well-placed bribes managed to get you 15 instead. William and Michèl set off with the entire haul, which would net you even more than expected. You introduced Francesca to Edward, and asked Father Federico to officiate your marriage.

>11th of August, 1095

As you roll over in your bed, you find yourself missing Francesca’s presence. Even though it’d only been half a day, having her around eased your mind a lot more. You sighed, sitting up in your bed. You’ve woken up numerous times in the middle of the night. Each and every time, the same nightmare caused it. Otto’s last sounds, and the sight of his lifeblood streaming out of his mutilated throat. You shivered, trying to shake the thoughts away.

As you got up and got dressed, you heard the door closing. Edward left for the church. You guess that it must be around nine o’clock now. Slowly and quietly, you move over to the living room, grabbing whatever food you could find before sitting down at the table. You tried to eat. You really did. But you just didn’t have any appetite. Something was wrong, and knowing that upset you quite a bit.

You just decided to get on with your day. There wasn’t much to be done, as William and Michèl wouldn’t be back until tomorrow, or if the winds were unfavourable, the day after. You had to ask Francesca’s father if he’d let you marry her, too.

I want to run a superpowers based campaign where the players progress from street level to somewhere between city and country busters over the course of it.

How do other GM's on /tg/ handle moral choices in games? Do you like presenting players with two morally questionable options and asking them to choose, or do you avoid moral dilemma's like the plague?

For instance, last full campaign I GM'd, presented players with two people vying for throne of a kingdom.
>Rightful king. Iron-fisted dictator, but highly intelligent and rules as an efficient bureaucrat that establishes trade and makes alliances.
>King's half-sister who has started rebellion in response to poor treatment by brother. Popular and lenient leader, but also a vainglorious warlord that would sacrifice thousands of lives for 'glory in battle' as well as making deals with the undead in return for skeleton armies and vampire cavalry.

Don't make present them as such, and, for the love of god, don't make them binary.

Just describe a situation and see how your players/characters deal with it.
Don't call them out on their murderhobo antics OOC, and just incorporate the consequences in-game.
