>Eldar seem to reproduce in stages, with new genetic material being added by the father to the developing embryo over an extended period. This process is ill-understood, but Eldar autopsies are suggestive of it.

>reproduce in stages

Wait wait hold on, what if the expectant father is away doing some path of the warrior stuff? Are they just suppose to get cocked?

I don't know, nor do I care.

The only good Eldar are grown in vats, anyway.
>>
>>46434141
Given the evidently involved nature of their reproduction cycle, and how anti-hedonism their culture is, they probably take time off specifically for reproduction and don't initiate it otherwise.
>>
No because Eldar did not have traditional nuclear families. A chaos god was born from their collective degeneracy. They all have multiple partners and orgies were the norm. No one got cucked (great meme there) because no one was committed.

Doubtful. She hasn't exactly been showing signs of recovery. The most recent depiction of her shows her ballroom dancing with a corpse like in Interview With a Vampire.

They didn't even try to ask her for help because they knew she wouldn't give it. Why would she help? What would she personally have to immediately gain? She doesn't care about Zendikar, she doesn't care about the safety of the multiverse, she doesn't really care about anything other than herself.

Actually, Jace did. She told him to fuck right off. See: http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/magic-story/catching-2015-07-22

Looks like she's telling him to fuck off again this block, based on the fact that she's now attacking him with the Chain Veil.

Why was it necessary to make 20? The Emperor was clearly paranoid about Chaos corruption. Could he have not conquerored the Galaxy with 5 primarchs or none, given the risk to chaos possession?

What happened to cows and pigs and goats and chickens?

Maybe grox get you a really good return on investment? That's why we farm cows instead of say, deer or horse, because they give you a much higher amount of meat relative to the time and resources required to raise them.

Apparently their meat is very nutritious and they can eat a shitload of different foods, so they can be reared on many different types of worlds.

But it's still xeno meat, surely for the Imperium that would have been a big no no.

Hello, and welcome to Beast Hunter Quest. Last thread we left off with the nameless MC narrowly escaping a horde of arachne having just saved a harpy from becoming their next meal.

From a clearing in the trees on the edge of a small cliff, you get a great view of what lies ahead, including the shining walls of the kingdom in the distance. You just need to work your way down from this height and the rest should be an easy journey, with the exception of all the beasts that will no doubt be trying to kill you.

You look down at the harpy in your arms. You're not sure if she's going to make it much longer if you don't do anything. You lay her on the ground to get a better view of the bloody stumps on her back. You consider trying to stop the blood with your robes.

>Continue to the walls with harpy.
>Put harpy down.
>Leave harpy here.
>Write in.

Option with the most votes after 10 minutes will win.

And we're back!
Still going to vote to leave her. I know we tried to save the harpy, but to what end? There's probably only an execution waiting for her in the Kingdom.

My LE necromancer is married. Playing him as the mobster-style LE so his family is what he cares most to protect. He is a pretty good spouse.
>>
My current PC would be an amazing spouse, if it weren't for his devotion to the party leader. He's loyal, cautiously ambitious, patient, a good cook, and chased after an elven lord's ghost with nothing but an unattuned magic shortsword and rusty chain to save his boss by himself. He's a bit rough to look at, in a potentially ruggedly appealing way, and could afford to lose a few pounds, but he's a good cook and takes enough care of his horse to make local lords envious.

Remember that anything the players haven't directly experienced doesn't actually exist. Feel free to move around ideas for things they can encounter.

If you were planning on having them go to a lava temple and they decide to go elsewhere, make it an ice temple and just switch the descriptors.

Reskinning monsters can make the players think they're a lot more bad-ass than they really are.

If you're using a D&D system (sounds like you are), have some pre-made statted characters that you can drop into a scene if you need an NPC. Otherwise, don't bother writing down full statblocks for every single NPC, because you'll never need 95% of them, and the remaining 5% can just be layered over the premade statblocks.

Keep the action going. If you have to ask the players "what do you want to do now", you're doing it wrong. Give them a sense of immediacy. Start them in a situation where they need to act in a heroic manner. Force them to react to the world around them.

Keep your cool. Remember that it's a game, not a novel in progress. If you think you made a bad call or something else should have happened, don't be afraid to see if everyone is OK with rewinding and saying it happened differently.
>>
>>46413539
Personally i would recommend that you run a module for your first attempt, it really helps you learn to build encounets.
>>
>>46413539
-throw dices and keep statistics behind a shield/cover so they can't see you. this allows you to cheat to avoid unfairly killing players or to add hp to monsters if the encounter ended up being too easy.
-you should be able to read anything you have prepared within 10 seconds. printed stuff or everything in one PDF on a well charged laptop is good.of course you will keep track of stuff like hp of monsters on pencil+paper.
-if you tell us the system you are using and what characters your friends made we might be able to tell you what balance problems you might find
-speak clearly, ask players to focus, remind your players of what they are doing. you are the one to blame if the party loses interest, there are dead times, some player lose focus or doesn't know what the group is doing.Feel free to ban any activity not related to the game, decrease rule search
time by forcing players to print their spells.
-try to not interrupt the gameflow. Inventing a rule or asking your best player if they remember the rule might be better than spending 10 minutes searching for it. Unfortunately players who are new to a system might invent something really awful for game balance. as long as players don't die it's ok. at worst you will modify the rule the next day you meet.
-You should be the one that set the standard and the example for roleplaying. if someone doesn't talk much or doesn't roleplay you should encourage him.Describing your actions in combat is the first easy step for people who don't know how to roleplay.
-you are not the enemy of the party. you are the one that collaborate with them to let their character tell a good story and you can do anything in your power to make it sound cool for everyone.
-if someone knows the system more than you ask him for help sometimes.
-Players that feel discriminated against might get angry if they see someone else get rewarded more than them. try to be comunicative and fair to everyone.

it's a fair cop that the fucking game didn't fix its monster math properly until 2010. I mean, that's years of playing with shitty monsters that do no damage and take a year to die. fuck off

Exalted 3E

I adore it and the setting, but it's got far too many fiddly little rules that are hard to remember, and if people aren't really on top of remembering their charms and dice pools, each turn is a long slog. Only with a very high level of competence (compared to other systems) do rounds stop taking a damn half hour.
>>
3.5.

I think it is fair to call out people trying to shoe horn every fucking thing into it. I use it for dungeon crawls when the group is in the mood and I shoot down any attempts for other dms to use it to run something outside of what it can do.

The Aztec Empire didn't fall. Instead it used trade and war to reach the technological level of Europe, and ultimately became the dominant superpower in the nuclear age. Nuclear bombs were used to sacrifice millions at a time to the Aztec gods, ultimately destroying Earth for human use. Fortunately hyperspace was discovered. How does the Aztec Empire expand into space and deal with alien empires, and how does it religion evolve? How does a social structure based on advancement by capturing your enemies alive work in space combat?

They don't, realistically speaking. After using nukes on the scale, MAD (because other countries *will* have nukes, no matter how badly you want to deny it) would have destroyed any human civilization.

>What happened last thread?
Waking up after a long day, you head out to the tailor and commission a pair of banners, flags, a surcoat and a new outfit. You decide that it’d be best to test the crossbows before selling them. After witnessing their spectacular power, you decided to arm ten of your own guards with crossbows, and sell off the remaining 4 crates. This should leave you with a profit of 540 ducats. After receiving an invitation, you prepare for a dinner party in honour of the Doge’s son, to be held at the Doge’s Palace. As you went to the church to ask for information on Matteo Orsani, you encountered Francesca. The two of you chatted briefly, before you invited her to the dinner. You learned that patrician Orsani has epilepsy, and that his warehouse guard can be bribed.

Together with William, Michèl and Desiderius, you decided to swap the shipments of weapons. Desiderius had come into contact with blacksmiths that made weapons of subpar quality. The plan was to take those shipments to the Orsani warehouse, and swap them out with the high quality shipments.

The dinner at the Doge’s Palace went well, as Francesca introduced you to a slew of businessmen and your nemesis: Matteo Orsani. After the event, you took Francesca home. The two of you both agreed to a courtship, but you’d still need her father’s permission.

>9th of August, 1095

After a long night, you finally wake up. It must’ve been around 10 o’clock. Did you really sleep for eleven hours? You groggily get out of bed, wondering which outfit to wear. Deciding that you should save your expensive set of clothes for a better time, you settle on the black & gold jerkin with a white tunic underneath. Last night exceeded your expectations, as you may have found yourself a possible wife. To top it off, she agreed to a courtship.

However, it wasn’t up to her. You figured that you should visit her father’s estate today, to personally ask for his permission to court his daughter. It was destined to be an uncomfortable conversation, as you’d have to convince him that you’re worthy. Today was also the day that you’d get to spend a lot of money. You still owed the tailor a 100 ducats for the flags, banners, surcoat and your outfit.

You notice that Edward already left for the church. You hadn’t seen him in a day, now. As you step outside, you wonder what to do first.

How do you write up your NPCs?

>>
>>46428259
Usually just appearance, personality, and notes on the interactions the PCs have had with them
>>
>>46428281
This. You want just enough information about them so they feel complete without making anything feel scripted or boxing yourself in.
>>
>>46428259
Give each NPC atleast two personality traits, no matter how small a character he/she/it/C̹̪͎̯̘̬̫͠t̠͉̕h͖̜̙ųl̫̟̙̫͕̺̗ṷ̮͙̜ is.

If they're an Elf, don't just make their personality arrogant or cock-craving; Maybe make them overly-secretly curious about Human culture or orderly.
If they a Tiefling, Drow, or other Special Snowflake race, don't just make them brooding about how "everyone is racist against them"; make them hunger for the secrets of good Hobbit cooking or surprisingly fatherly.
If they're a Cleric, don't just make them religious and religion-abiding; make him greedy or paranoid about displeasing their deity.

No character should be completely one-dimensonal.
