With Kenku being an official player race, I'm going to be making a dex fighter kenku who was raised as sort of a mascot of the city guard. As such, a lot of his speech patterns and dialogue is based on how guards talk and behave.
What are some cliche sayings and actions of fantasy city guards I can mimic?

Also Kenku art thread too

What's the ideal imperial guard list?
I'm thinking it's nine leman russ tanks and maybe artillery.
>>50081641
what do you do about aircraft and WraithKnights and Imperial Knights, and stuff then?
You need D-Strength weapons and Anti-Air too
Full Infantry based Regiment
>>50081641
Lots of Dakka & lots of bodies.
Lots of cheap infantry to deal with enemy infantry (tar pit, massed fire, bubble wrap for tanks)
Lots of Artillery (counter attack enemy long range anti-armour & heavy weapons meant to kill infantry).
APC's & tanks to move up field and hammer objectives/ break through enemy lines.
How do you map a giant city?
>>50081414
By mapping districts and especially important buildings only.
>>50081414
By mapping specific sections and noteworthy buildings
>>50081414
Well you obviously use a giant map
What excuse could I give to say that a particular Daemon host body is not likely to fall into sever mutations and eventual disintegration so that I could portray it as a long term npc?
Magic.
>>50081157
>context please
Seriously, if you are going to be spewing your homebrew, atleast give us context to your rather vague question.
>In what universe does this take place?
>If this an excuse for adding your waifu to the campaign?
>How far are you willing to bend the universe to accomodate to your wishes?
All questions I have.
>>50081258
Sorry,
Warhammer Fantasy.
Chaos Cultist group, trying to make an npc that is literally a daemon who is trying to keep the party on point since they keep wandering off to do other things outside of their assigned mission (sometimes their own stupidity, sometimes not) and displeasing their warband leader and their various gods.
So they are creating an npc they know if the party tries to kill will just report back to the important people.
Tau shit all over marines.

hi there tg i need a little help over here,I'm a first time GM and i want to start a little simple, I'm going to be running a series of 3 one shots for my group.
The first one will be a lot of combat in a series of caves, then ending with them reaching a sort of maintenance tunnel for a 5000 year old buried advanced city.
My GM has been helping me, but he told me to come here and check with you guys.
so far heres the draft for the map I've made, i don't know how to design caves or even what this maintenance tunnel would look like .
In the cave there will be underground worms, and throughout the cave and tunnel there will be mining golems that have been on auto pilot for 5000 years just collecting minerals (incentive for the players to press further)
Please help! I'm stuck now.
ill be here for a few hours to answer any and all questions i can.
>>50080358
I think there's too much padding. A good dungeon has three or four meaningful encounters, and putting in several busywork fights is completely counterproductive.
>>50080391
im not really sure how to run or facilitate combat so I've let the players know ill be chucking in about 5-6 to get a handle on how to manage enemies.
Why is Deal so much better than regular Monopoly?
>>50080279
Because it doesn't take forever.
>>50080279
>Why is X>Monopoly Quality value?
Because Monopoly is the worst of the worst.
>>50080279
Deals, you say?
what are some good non OSR dungeon crawling games?
>>50079639
I'm honestly stumped. That's sort of like asking if there's a game about angsty vampire intrigue that isn't World of Darkness.
There's torchbearer, but it's a dense story game.
Depends on how loose your OSR definition is and what areas you find OSR lacking.
Some alternatives, in order of crunch: GURPS Dungeon Fantasy, Savage Worlds Fantasy Companion, Strike!
If you want a game that's focused on dungeon crawling you really can't go wrong with OSR games.
What are your thoughts on Camorr as an RPG setting? I realize maybe not a lot of people know of the book/series, but to those that do, how would you go about a campaign set in the city?
>>50079514
It's just a renamed fantasy Venice with more sharks.
the world has potential, Elderglass and it origins, a party of adherents to the nameless 13th, Piracy, the alchemy of the setting is powerful and variable and versatile....
I'd use parts of the setting, but not the whole thing.
I dislike magic so the Bondsmagi so I'd leave that shit alone though
>>50079514
I think the idea of the thief god was actually kind of cool. The setting is kind of like an extra shitty renaissance Venice but with some neat fantastical elements. I really liked the idea of the alchemical botany and stuff like that. I've yanked that stuff for my setting.
It would make a pretty good low fantasy campaign. I would play it, so long as Locke and his lot don't actually show up.
Horus
>daddy trusted me with too much
Magnus
>space wolves get tricked by Horus
>join Horus
Lion El'Jonson

Mortarion

Alpharius
>thinks joining Chaos is the way to defeat Chaos
if they ever made a good decision, the 40kniverse would be less fucked than it is and therefore less interesting
>>50079382
To be fair on the planet Angron was a merciful gladiator who spared many worthy foes and fought fiercely to live free with his brethern, more the happy to die in honor.
However the Emporer took everything from him, forcibly kidnapping him and consigning all he cared about to butchery and having his name tarnished by his own homeworld as the very people who enslaved him get to join the imperium and be even more powerful.
Angron, above everyone else, had a reason to hate.

How many guard regiments could this guy take out before dying once?
>>50079274
What guard regiments are we talking? Cause if it's some backwoods fucking nowhere world, a lot. If it's kreig or steel legion, approx 0.5.
>>50079299
>He wouldn't do well against the most meat grinder, expendable armies.
>Steel Legion also got their shit slapped by Orks.
40kids pls
>>50079274It depends on the writer.
Besides, a trait I'd expect to see in a warrior-priest who's been around for millenia is the ability to know exactly how many opponents he can handle WITHOUT dying once. Why waste a perfectly good incarnation?
Is loyalty more powerful than goat magic?
goat magic is
>>50080620
probably ?
A little while ago we were having a thread on chainfists, but within that was some great fun creating two opposing factions
On one side, the Shred Lords, the most radical and tubular marines to every shred through the gnarly waves of the imperium. White scars successors.
On the other, the Doom Derby, a bunch of chaos sisters with chain-skates.
And the two factions were fighting over DOOMRIDER'S head
I thought that was some fun shit, and I'd like to continue fluffing them both out.
we were working on the color scheme of the Shred Lords last i remember.
>>50079133
>Special ability: Hurricane Grind
Close combat move. The Terminator runs a short distance, jumps and grinds multiple adjacent targets with his power chainfists before landing.

"Feel the wipeout of the Righteous, poseurs!" - Famous battlecry by Bro Cap'n Brody Slater
Rolled 2 (1d10)
Neon Blue is a must; perhaps we could also give them different helmet (something inspired by standard safety helmets for one squad; another wears only Aviators, and another wears motorcycle helmets and jackets, ect)
Also rolling for inspiration.
Is anyone familiar with ShadowRun lore? Has it ever happened that a person or group of people (who weren't a corporation), successfully waged war on a corporation?
Depends. Is this AA or AAA Corp? Not a chance, they are too big.
A or B corp? A very, very slim chance of success.
>>50079042
>Is this AA or AAA Corp?
>Not a chance, they are too big.
That's what I was afraid of.
Alright. Hypothetically speaking, if some runner was sick of the corporations' shit and wanted to either strike a blow against them or start a movement to take one or more down or something, how would they go about doing it?
