I haven't seen any blatant rip-off characters in-game yet, but I've had a few people put forward applications that are described as 'the blind monk from Marco Polo'.

I just want to play a barbarian, nothing special, I like barbarians.

Mars-class Battlecruiser: Basketball is heresy, enjoy your daemons. No-show because being dragged screaming into the warp.

I-class Destroyer: Crew cannot comprehend actually hitting the basket with the ball. Lose the game 0 to 80.

Galaxy-class: Win by default, as they actually sort of manage to play the game.

My personal view is that if the bad guy only wronged me personally, then I will "turn the other cheek" so to speak. But if he wrong other people, then it's not my place to show mercy. They have to be given justice regardless of my personal feelings on the matter, and for that he will have to die.

A Paladin could act as an arbitrator and make the choice of whether their damage to others is reconciled with execution, rather than always acting on it.

Someone with a very strict moral code specifically about wronging others isn't bad, though.

The whole favored class system in 3.5 was just weird. Like, it was so complex, and what was the point? To prevent people from taking four different classes? That wasn't even a powerful choice, so why did they feel the need to slap an XP penalty on it?

It took a splat, but they eventually put out feats in Complete Adventurer that allowed you to multiclass freely if you were a Monk/Ranger, Monk/Paladin, Monk/Sorcerer or Monk/Rogue.

Monarch disappears if the player who is the monarch loses the game from a source other than combat damage (non-combat damage, being milled out, etc.) correct?

Incorrect! If the Monarch leaves a multiplayer game, the active player becomes the monarch. If the Active Player is the monarch who is leaving the game, the Monarchy passes to the next player in turn order.

Technically without that rule, the monarch would just disappear even if you killed them with combat damage, because the controller of the "Whenever a creature deals combat damage to the monarch, its controller becomes the monarch." trigger would leave the game before it's ever put onto the stack.

Peter F Hamilton had 'ethnic streaming' colonies being a way for a pressure-cooker overpopulated earth to avoid colonies forming nations and nationalism when a FTL drive was developed. It's partially 'usa republican beliefs about dem race-mixin' not being dem good idea' but also partially that earth in his setting is a fucked up, overpopulated hellhole for a lot of people and anything that reduces the psychological stress on colonists is a good thing and contributes to planets 'succeeding' (aka developing strong economies) which is the goal of space exploration/colonization. The point of his books, also, is that the focus on economic success/expansionism is effectively holding back that human civilization in terms of technical/scientific development and social development, and the main character uses a deus ex machina alien artifact to attempt to fix it at the end of the series.

No, his goal is to unseat the Emperor and take his place as Dark Emperor of Mankind. This is basic stuff like the colour of the Ultramarines. If you cannot get that then must go back.

i once created a character from wich everything thrown to them would bounce off. when he falls from too high, he bounces becuase you cant make the earth bounce
