Help me out, /tg/.
I come from the distant lands of /agdg/. I'm making a top down, action adventure rpg game set in a big ol' dungeon.
Give me like 9 classes that I should implement, that would cover most of my bases for potential playstyles.
Not really looking for slight variations of other classes (e.g.; monk/unarmed and pugilist, or ranger and archer.)
Also culture specific classes need not apply. (Samurai, ninja, etc.).

Depends a lot on your context. For mine I went with 5 non casters (barbarian, soldier, thief, hunter, warlord), 5 casters (wizard, sorcerer, warlock, druid, and priest), and 5 races (human, troll, goblin, elf, dwarf).
That said, your perfect class roster is going to depend pretty heavily on what your rules allow you to design content for, what's appropriate to the tone of your game, and so on. I split sorcerer and wizard because giving blasty magic and noclip magic to the same dude was excessive. I've got a distinct soldier class partly because my reach and AoO rules let me turn walking backwards slowly into a nigh game-breaking superpower. Warlord made it in because I'm doing something powers based and it's a popular class in that genre.
So maybe tell us a little more about the game itself.
Knight, Thief, Mage, Paladin, Archer, Priest, Blackguard, Assassin, Shaman.

It's single-player, with simple loot and crafting elements. Dungeons have big complex ecosystems and food chains. Currently I've got one dungeon with a flooded theme. There's streams, ponds, flooded rooms, and semi-aquatic life, which reflects in the combat encounters. Giant frogs, turtles, killer fish, poisonous reptiles, sentient fish men, and a hydra as the final boss. Except the hydra is free to hunt and wander the environment, creating a cat and mouse dynamic as you worm your way through the environment and gather materials to craft yourself good enough gear to actually kill the hydra. Not all of this is fully functioning and no where near completion. I'm trying to create several dungeons each with different themes.
What's the trick to playing games with many players in a small cramped room without air conditioning? People are always tripping over each other trying to get to the washroom.

Whats your opinion on Dungeon Dice Monsters?
It's just like duel monsters
>>51613890
Not at all
What do you think about Pollaxe as a standard weapon for soldiers? Like the spear was the standard weapon of the hoplites.
>>51613573
What makes hoplites not soldiers?
>>51613668
They're a milita, they're drafted which is worse than Satan but not a terrible a Unions.
>>51613573
How could polish people be used as weapons?
How would /tg/ feel about Warhammer lootcrate-esque monthly packages for like 20-30 bucks. SO every month we would all get a few similar figures costing less than retail and people could trade ones (like I play 40k and you play Sigmar so we swap the respective brands so we have double of each) and buyers could paint them all the month of and compare and contrast (sort of like the model that came with WD in September), and speaking of White Dwarf there could be a few pages dedicated to painting tutorials and showing off last months community paintings of the miniatures from the crates. Heck it could even come as like an "upgrade" to the monthly WD subscription (maybe with a discount?). I feel with enugh support GW would defiantly do this because it could line their pockets with more money but at the same time the fans could be happy.
>>51613524
It could work but so many lootcrate type things end up being terrible.
>>51613524
>lootcrate-esque
Deep suspicion.
99% of "lootcrate" schemes are scams.
>>51614060
>scams
>buying plastic heroin
Good goy, normal GW stuff isn't a scam you want to say?
why is he the best primarch?
He's going to bring the AdMech back in line when he declares MARTIAN LAW
>>51613454
Because he's not a primarch, and he was written (and voiced) by people who aren't part of GW.
Did Lorgar command Pod 6?
What does /tg/ think of the new FFG rank and file minis game?
It looks meh.
It's a really lame WHFB esque game with lots of fiddly parts that are mandatory. Call me when there are more than four factions. Otherwise I am much better off playing Kings of War or something. That game at least lets me opt to not use ugly official figures.
Ehh I like the WoW-esque cartoon aesthetic of the humans I like skeletons even more personally. However what I don't like is all the order dial screens on the board, stat cards, unique dice, and only having two factions at launch.
Kings of war, old school whfb, look to me to provide a sleeker less cluttered system with a much larger possibility for more beautiful and much more customizable models on the board.
How do you start to GM?
I'm a long time player and we decided to take turns GMing one shots from now, what do I do?
I have no Idea how to be a game master, I've thought about putting together two one page dungeons I picked up here last week or so, but how do I start things?
>>51612599
Just wing it.
Ask your player about the things you can't think for yourself.

>Ultramarines will be a LEGION again.
>Legion is divided in Chapters and each Chapters keeps their internal organizational estructure for the time being.
>Everybody armour goes back to the Ultramarines blue, right pauldron keeps the colors of the Chapter.
>All Chapters are given a world in Ultramar were to recruit.
> Rogal comes back and says to Guilliman, I told you so, Chapters don`t work.
>>51612299
>Chapters don`t work.
But they worked for much longer than Legions ever did.
>>51614383

>Sustain the Imperium for longer than recorded history, defeating every threat to rise against it, including Legions

A thread died for this
Remember that most posters here never actually roleplay, they simply want to use this board to discuss whatever they like without caring about board culture.
How do you make a non-edgy evil character? I'm trying to think of reasons why someone would be a dick to other people while also being compatible within a party. Any sort of background I come up with is overly edgy or cliche.
>>51611535
Wealth, selfishness, willing to cross lines, willing to beat someone's teeth out for answers, lack of interest in goals that do not benefit the party or the overall goal...
>>51611535
make him irish

Greed.
Adventurers get rare treasure, get to loot villain without prosecutions, enjoy privileges and fame.
Whats the most unique setting you've ever had?
>>51611376
It took place during the civil war and one of the main NPCs was a Pixie confederate officer that referred to the PCs as shit eating slaves of the union the PCs weren't even aiding the union in anyway
Like the anime GATE except instead of the JSDF, it's cyberpunk & instead of generic fantasy world, it's fantasy world full of monstergirls. Harpies with plasma rifles, lamia with beam swords, etc..
It was a private dimension serving as colossal magic stables housing all kinds of magical farm animals (like intelligent cows shooting lightnings out of their udders). The PC's were gongfermors tasked with taking out their shit, which was an incredibly heroic suicide mission. One of the players (his class was Devil's Advocate, and yes, that's an actual class) had to seduce the emperor of pigs with exotic dancing at one point.
It was exactly like it sounds. But you can't say something even remotely close has ever been done before or since.
A game manual should never be more than 350 pages.
>>51610764
The 81st page should always be blank except for the phrase "THIS PAGE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK" on it.
>>51610764
No, it shouldn't. 160 pages is a nice enough size.
Ada Lovelace wasn't the first programmer either, but people do love legends.
>>51610764
no more than 10 pages per chapter
Post settings, people and self-build weapons. Zombies optional.
I have not much pictures, but I post what I got.

>walk into GW
>not into tabletop shit
>looking for games manuals just for lore purposes
>big table in the middle of the floor
>lots of basement-dwellers between the ages of 10 and 40 crowded around it
>all of them go silent and look at you (never in the eyes) like you've just walked into their living room
>"can I help you" in nasal voice
>"just looking, cheers"
>game continues and they're all bickering about some shit
>find the 40K Daemons book I was after
>take it to till
>"ah you like this, well how about all these other things?"
>offers me dozens of tiny shitty unpainted metal and plastic statues
>fucking mental prices for this shit
>"nah, I'm good, mate"
>gives me book
>raining out
>"can I get a bag, too?"
>guy sighs like it's the hardest thing in the world
>"you really earn that pay check, eh?"
>he just looks down and shuffles away
>as I'm leaving, I hear one say "I would've punched his lights out"
>stop and turn back
>"what was that?"
>they're all wide-eyed and looking at one person
>he's looking at the floor
>"enjoy your game, kids"
>leave shaking my head
Why does anyone want to work in that kind of place?
