When a character reveals himself as secretly the villain the whole time, but is killed by his creations/underlings/tools. Then the heroes are left to escape.
I saw this in a Rick & Morty episode that just aired, and it reminded me of (spoiler) Resident Evil.
> bad guys uncover / activate gate to summon extremely powerful creature(s) of evil
This is my GMing crutch but I never get bored of it. Provides a nice easy climax, and I throw in stuff like a plague in my latest campaign to dress it up a bit.

Apparently the current one is 5.2, whatever that means.

It means they meddled with it and just kept making it worse, going 'It can be fixed it we just- well it'll still be good if we-' etc for years.
What are some interesting peasant classes or professions?
>farmer
>tinkerer
>antiquarian
>butcher
>baker
>candlestick maker
>Blacksmith
>Barkeep
>Librarian
>Harlot
>Seamstress/Tailor
What's the point of peasant classes?
If someone is a peasant, do they need a full class progression? It just seems like a waste of time and wordcount to me.
Give me some basic templates that I can adjust to level. That's literally everything you need.
When space marines take back a planet recently taken over by chaos is it commonplace to kill all the survivors? Or is that mostly an inquisition thing?
I mean civilian survivors
>>51566223
depends on the Chapter.
the White Scars you've placed might have them send a portion of their survivors on a suicidal redemption quest, while the Iron Hands might kill a bunch of them to as punishment for failing to be strong enough to resist on their own.
Depends on the chapter. Salamanders or Space Wolves might stick up for the civvies, Iron Hands or Dark Angels might just ignore them and let the inquisition decide, Marines Malevolent would kill them for fun.
Tell me why Returners' Final Fantasy RPG is bad.

They're not. They're the best set of characters in the best game in the entire series.I will Fight you on this.

FFd6 and SeeD are worse.

I'm talking about an early-00s attempt to make a Final Fantasy RPG that went badly.
I remember it's bad but not why.

FUCK YOU IM TELLING MOM
Lets make villains /tg/. Themes, artwork, lore, all of it.
It's kinda corny but I always like the idea of a villain (or anti-hero) called "The Ex-Patriot". Corny in the sense they're the box-standard anarchistic-inspired stuff that teenagers come up with.
Still, I like the name.
Make one based off of this.
>>51565082
I was planning on doing a villain team who's themes were based on the five stages of grief.
Denial was going to be completely detached from reality, a pyromancer who willingly allows a spirit of destruction to puppet his body and then commentates on things like he's watching a play.
Anger, I originally planned to the obvious and have him just be an asshole lashing out at the world, but then I figured maybe I could do something different, so he is a swordsman who became strong due to a fury at his own weakness and obsession with expunging it, and when he reached a plateau, he attempts to overcome it by subjecting himself to the harshest battles he can find.
Bargaining is a woman with a hybrid curse/disease which is slowly killing her, and she is using all the alchemical knowledge she can find to thwart it off and buy just another few days, scouring the world in search of obscure lore and doing awful things, but tempering that with the fact that, when lucid, she is still attempting to use that knowledge to help people as long as it also furthers her research
Depression is pretty easy and I went with the obvious on this one. A knight who was betrayed and in turn forced to betray her own ideals so many times in rapid succession during the collapse of her homeland to infighting that she stopped caring about anything, believing that she would hurt less this way. She moves through life with a mechanical purpose, barely even aware, just following the orders of the one she perceives as her master.
Acceptance was tricky, since it basically represents a return to 'normality', and so I did a twist on that. A man who was noble, and well-loved by his peers his entire life for his rigid sense of justice and morality... Then he loses the love of his life, and he takes a dark turn. A man who was only good because he believed it was what the only important person in his life would have wanted. When she is gone, he gives up and accepts that he isn't a good person.

I'm running a modern dungeon crawl game; sort of hotline Miami style urban nightmare with psychedelic elements. I'm gonna use gurps with the basic combat because my players are familiar with it and it works well enough.
What splatbooks do you guys recommend me to look at for something like this?
>>51564090
When you say a "modern dungeon crawl", do you mean to have monsters? Or just mobsters? Are you going to have traps? Will it be an actual dungeon, or a series of dungeon-like (e.g.) warehouses/apartment blocks?
>>51564146
Kowloon style urban dungeon. Mix of both monsters and humans, with things getting weirder deeper in. As per traps, maybe but less so. And it will be laid out like a dungeon but not actually a dungeon or tomb or whatever.
I grabbed dungeon fantasy: dungeon already, which will help, but I'm wondering about some good books for handling a mix of melee and gun based ranged. Guns don't need to be equal in power to melee, they can be more powerful, I'm balancing that in other ways.
I thought we could have a thread discussion cool ideas for villains we've either had or are planning. Doesn't have to be the BBEG.
Currently, I'm trying to write one as the hero of a Greek Tragedy and the party as his inevitable comeuppance.
>>51562678
Think for yourself faggot and stop stealing other peoples ideas without first actually contributing something, now kys
A God from a pantheon of Gods who made the universe so they couldn't interfere with it since one of the original most powerful of them tried to plunge the planet into chaos.
The God in question made themselves semi-mortal in order to interfere with the world, creating powerful items and rescuing powerful people who were meant to die all for the purpose of sowing as much chaos as possible, so that some keys will show up that will unlock the prison of that original God.the plot twist for this story will be that every time the universe ends it resets, with everything happening in the exact same way as before and only the Gods releasing the resets are occurring. The original God decided to sow chaos across the realm in an attempt to stop these resets from happening and let the universe continue with people's choices mattering but to do so he had to do a lot of evil shit. Other Gods didn't like that so they locked him up. (Not sure how that'll work yet but I'm working on it) The actual BBEG will be one of these Gods who, after 1000's of resets has gone nearly mad with the same stuff occurring again and again while the other Gods deal with it through general apathy. The PC's will then have the choice of going against the BBEG to keep the universe in order but keep repeating or join them to make the universe a horrible place but actually let them control their destinies.
did I do good /tg/?

I mean, I have my idea I'm working on, I'm not looking for more, this was for sharing things in general because I thought it would be fun. If you don't think so, that's fine too,
How would you run a Mars Attacks game?
Alright, one of you guys might be an elven spy. Now we could take off all your hats, but that would take too long. So feast your eyes upon this! Woodland being destroyed and trees chopped to bits en mass! Now what do you have to say about that eh?!
