They aren't BAD, certainly, but you're going to stand out, and get a lot of questions.

Please, just spring for the 3k civic or some towncar. Something practical, unassuming, and with a trunk.

>drive an econobox for years
>park it in the driveway, can count on one hand the number of times over the last year or so that birds have shit on it
>2 and a half weeks ago I finally get a good car, something I truly love
>birds shit on the fucking thing every couple of days
FUCKING SHITHAWKS, RANDY

This is driving me to despair, it's just constant shit. And of course if I go to clean shit off the car I inevitably end up seeing other issues that I feel compelled to clean, like dirt and grime. It's getting to the point where I'm dreading leaving the house every day and seeing what's happened now to the car.

Is there any substance to the old myth about birds being more attracted to certain colours?

And what can I do to stop this, short of spending thousands of dollars (which I don't have) on getting a carport built? Are there any deterrences I can set up to drive them away?

Remove whatever tree is near by.

Get a pet Falcon and train it to kill the other birds.

Maybe there's some kind of stuff you can put down that leaves a smell that birds hate or a device that emits a ultra high sound frequency that hurts their ears and makes them avoid your location.

There has to be something man kind has invented to keep them away. there are definitely such things for other animals.

DELETE THIS

in all seriousness, what color was your shitbox? What color is your new car? Your current car might be painted in a color that makes the bird shit stand out more compared to your old shitbox. There's also the possibility that you're simply more observant of bird shit since you now have a nicer car.
>>
>>17268063
Old car was orange. New car is red. Despite not taking great care of my old car (I cleaned it perhaps twice a year) I always noticed bird shit because I hate the stuff and will clean it off. I had thought about it perhaps being because I'm more observant of the new car, but the old car has been sat out on the street under some phone lines and a tree for the last 2 weeks while I get ready to sell it and there is not a single drop of shit on it.

>>17268044
There are no trees. It's directly in front of my house. I thought maybe they've been perching up there on the roof and then shitting when they take off but I've never ever noticed them up there, it's puzzling.

Got a new well paying job and wanting to upgrade from a 16' Mustang V6 to either:

1. Mustang GT and Jeep Wrangler Rubicon

2. Mercedes AMG C43

What would you choose? (Can only afford one of the two options).

the mustang will be cheaper and more reliable but theyre not as nice as the merc. its an easy choice for me but you should try test driving them at least

After driving so many cars with creaks, rattles, vibrations, big panel gaps, and other shit, I'm ready to pay premium to have a car that doesn't feel like a cheap piece of shit.

Obviously I can't afford a Rolls Royce but I'm willing to spend up to 45k on a car. Which brands are feel well built?

Even I enjoy driving my car pretty much, gotta say 90s auto transmission was kind of shit. they're all sub $1k anyway, why not getting a manual one and learn to drive stick on it?

Does anyone live in a red state and drive with their dash cam and never been bothered? What makes it even worst for me is that I might have to let the wire hang from the rearview.

Are adjustable wrenches (spanners if you're a bong) really the 'tool of the charlatan'?

>>

Adjustable spanners are fucking utterly useless.

I own two Crescent brand, and I have never needed to ever use them for anything.
>>
They're like 100 wrenches in one. Mechanics get really butthurt when they see that one adjustable wrench outperforms their $1k snap-on kit. Just don't get a cheap, wobbly one.

Hey /o?, I need advice. I think I'm going to sell my 1961 porsche 356B that I inherited, because I don't drive it, I don't have the money to fix it, and I don't want to be like those boomers that just hoard shit til it rots.

My particular car, although it runs and drives and has no rust, has some bondo on the front end and appears as though it's been in a collision in the past. It also has shitty orange peel in the paint, and the interior needs redoing. All this, I could live with while driving it, but it burns a quart of oil every hundred miles and needs a rebuild, which I can't afford.

If anyone here knows the market, what do you think it should go for? I don't know how accurate hagerty is, but they say $34,000 for a fair condition example, and I already had someone offer me $35,000, but no more. Should I take that offer? Am I making a bad decision selling it at all?
46 posts and 9 images submitted.
>>
>>17264300
Is it a replica or the real deal? If it's legit it would still be worth restoring is properly because mint condition examples go for hundreds of thousands of dollars
>>
If you are in love with the car, sell it. Classic Porsche's are money pits so cash out and use the funds elsewhere

Does racing heritage really has a significant impact for car sales?

When people buy a BMW M, Mercedes-AMG, Audi Sport and Porsche do they mostly do it because of the racing heritage?

What does /o/ think?

I think it is a smart move for Lexus to build up a Racing Heritage, just curoirs about how relevant it is for car sales.

>>
It used to- what wins on Sunday sells on Monday and all that- but nowadays the average Joe doesn't know about nor care about racing so he buys based on badge and what his friends/family/co-workers say is good/what will make him look the most important.
>>
>>17270973
Racing heritage only really has an effect if the car has been consistently winning races for at least 20 or 30 years hence why E30 ask for quite a bit of money and the "M" badge alone can sway buyers.

When Mazda "won le mans" once for example it didn't really make anyone give any more of a shit about rotaries and they still fell off production cars anyway.

Lexus doesn't need a racing program like AMG or M or whatever Audi has and even if they had it, it would take decades to build up to the point where it has any possibility of swaying buyers. Lexus sales are strong already because they make luxury cars without the meme'y german car bills or repairs.

Tesla also has no racing Pedigree and it sales Model S's to the same smug self fart sniffing cunts who buy BMWs and they sell a lot of them. Even throwing your car around the nurburgring will have a bigger impact on sales than actually proving your competence against formidable competition because who really watches motorsports anyway? not most of the people buying or leasing executive cars. not most of the people buying super cars either.

Honda is also pushing the NSX in Motorsports in the US to try and increase sales but it will be awhile before they are Corvette Racing famous. There have been some special edition corvettes hinting to the car's participation in motorsports which leads me to believe the corvette's racing program has had something of an effect after nearly 20 years.

Cadillac has been pushing towards motorsports recently too in the last 10 years.

Hi /o/. Visiting /fit/ /pol/a/k/ here. Just wanted to know your opinion on Honda civic drivers. In my experience they unsurprisingly average out to be the slowest, worst and most annoying drivers out there. I also noticed that Civics are mostly driven by mid 30s to 40 year olds instead of Honda's target population which are mid to late 20 year college grads. Maybe that has something to do with it, Inferiority complex w/ starting late in life and having to drive a Civic.

Thanks

they are both very redpilled. Not for everyone.

Why are most dash cams installed in manual cars? Do automatic drivers not like dash cams?
15 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>17270070
automatic drivers don't like driving, people who don't like driving don't care about their cars, people who don't care about their cars don't see the need for a dash cam.
>>
I recommend getting a discrete dash cam

dash cams are worth it IMO. you set them and forget them, since they record on a loop. they never run "out" of memory, simply replace the oldest files in the storage card. Best <$100 you'll ever spend when you are involved with insurance fraud attempts.
>>
>>17270070
>Do automatic drivers not like dash cams?
They don't like driving and are the ones causing accidents.

It's a car that I admire from an engineering point of view but that I wouldn't buy unless I was obscenely rich and could go to the track every other day. If I had just the money for the gt3 I would get an AMG GT instead.
