After driving so many cars with creaks, rattles, vibrations, big panel gaps, and other shit, I'm ready to pay premium to have a car that doesn't feel like a cheap piece of shit.

Obviously I can't afford a Rolls Royce but I'm willing to spend up to 45k on a car. Which brands are feel well built?
>>
>>17267504
Buy 15 or so 3k civics, every time one gets too creaky just ghost ride it off a cliff.
>>
>>17267504

Have you looked into the Toyota Corolla?
>>
Lexus
Audi
VW

How many manual cars is Audi selling in NA right now? I really like the sound of an RS3 but it's automagic only.

Hyundai believe it or not
>>

>Maseratti (used)
>most Lexus
>s class
>Higher end audi
>Hyundai Equus or Genesis 4 door
>Used Bentley
>Porsche 911
>New Titan
>(if you want it cheap but want to spend a lot on maintenance) VW Phaeton
Here are some cars you would THINK are nice, but in reality they are too hard, too cheaply built, or just a chore to drive
>M series BMW
>Most infiniti
>Lots of trucks
>Corvette
>GT-R
>90's early 2000 sports cars (Supras, is-F, viper etc etc etc)
>Any dodge muscle car
>ford muscle cars or "hot hatches"
>>

What, those are the rattliest of the rattlers.
>>
>>17267721

LOL, a $45k GT-R is either going to have 100k miles or doesn't run. I wouldn't touch one under $60k with a 10 foot pole. Even then, a transmission rebuild would be the first order.

High lel
Buy a Lexus, OP.
>>
>>17267621

We're assuming he doesn't want to spend another $45k to keep it running over the next few years.

Lexus

Higher end MB and audi will be better, but you'll pay an assload keeping a used one running.
>>
>>17267536
>falling for the VAG meme
>>
>>17267771
They don't cost all that much to keep running. Sure the electronics will eventually age and you'll lose shit like dynamic seat bolstering but the drive train will keep trucking along, especially on a relatively new W221

Mercedes isn't known for catastrophic engine failures like BMW are expensive as shit regular engine services like Audi. Just be proactive about maintenance

But I don't expect anyone on /o/ to know anything about that since everyone here either drives shitbox Civics or rides the bus
>>
>>17267504
rolls royce uses dials, switches, and speakers from the bmw 7 series among other parts
>>
also fun fact:

you can get a used bently continental for around 40-45k
>>
>>17267602
Any BMW post 2000 has good interior fit and finish.
No squeaks even on my girlfriends 1999 3 series
>>
I and family have owned a few Mercedes, BMWs (including an 850), LRs etc.

The best car for fit and finish you can get in my opinion, for a decent price, is a Mercedes.

If you do decide to go for an S, E class or whatever the main thing to look out for is the Air Ride (depending on year). Air is shit, its leaky and its expensive to fix. The rest of the car is fucking bullet proof though. If you can pick up a 1 owner car off lease, its taken a huge fucking hit on depreciation and you can get a great deal.

Also never buy a c class before 2015, and never buy a CLA because they are dogshit.

Seriously man, Toyota reliability with a luxury finish on top

If I was in your position I'd buy a 69' fastback, but a 60 year old muscle car would probably rattle a bit.
>>
>>17270365
But all S classes come with airmatic now, even the new S63s and stuff
>>
>>17268423
VW may jew you on prices with barely average reliability and cheated emissions, but in recent times I haven't been in a single VW that rattled or felt cheap on the inside, unlike Chevys that seemed to start rattling in less than a year.

You can get a Bentley Arnage for 25k, but the repair bills will exceed the purchase price if you have a bad year.
>>
>>17270427
Yeah so if its sorta new you are good. If you want to keep it long term the seals go and you have to pay $1100 per wheel to replace it. At least that's what ive experienced.
>>
>>17270443
At that point just replace it with coilovers, though I do know of a company that sells you rebuilt struts for $400 a pop for a core exchange
>>
>>17270448
>At that point just replace it with coilovers
If you wanna ruin the resale value because you're a cheap nigger who shouldn't be owning an S-Class.

w140 or w126 is probably your best bet
spend the rest on sound deadening and modernizing it a bit

I've been really happy with my Lexus. I ended up selling it to a family member because I didn't really need it but she's really happy with it. super smooth, dead quiet on the highway, great in snow and 26mpg on the highway. plus dat Toyota reliability. no high maintenance costs like the European brands. it's a 2015 and I think I paid 47k for it when it was a year old with 7k but I'm sure you could find a cheaper one without the F Sport/Crafted Line packages and pay les.
>>
>>17267526
The fit and finish in my wife's 2008 Corolla feels about as good as the 1997 Geo metro I had in college. I didn't know that anyone still builds cars that feel that cheap and that shitty.
>>
How good are BMW's for NVH? Lexus doesn't offer manuals, the A4 is pretty slow.
