Fuck off.

it's a cool car but it's almost 30 years old, no matter how clean or well kept it is it will have problems

Does /o/ have an opinion on this cute little hot hatch? First hand experience would be appreciated.

Don't tell me about the alternatives, I'd be asking about FiSTs and Civics if I didn't know anything about them.

Marketing. And tradition. You try doing something too weird to a Mustang (FWD) and they start sending letters to Ferd.

No, the Lamborghini Murcielago cannot corner harder than an evo 9. If I'm correct he was able to beat the Evo 9 or at the very least an evo 8 in the show so ultimately on a windy road he'd beat the Lamborghini. Those cars are all show.

Hey, I've been practicing my heel toe downshift techniques on my temporary Toyota Avensis.
Some nignognette stole my CLK200 and wrecked it, so currently waiting for my Insurance money and I'll be off buying a GT86 (ive descided after long consideration)

Heel toe downshift is rather new to me, and i've been practicing it a fair bit with somewhat success/failiure.

For some reason I can never seem to get it right if I actually use proper Heel Toe, having the ball of my foot on the breaks and hitting the gas with my heel, I can never seem to hit the gas pedal right with my heel.
However if i have the ball of my foot on the breaks, and instead "roll" my foot over at the gas pedal I can do it with a far higher successrate. at least to such a extent at times you dont even notice the gear itself swapping gears.

Am I doing it right? Or am I doing the technique wrong? Should I try get ridd of this habit and focus directly on proper heel toe? Or should i keep using the technique that works best for me? Idunno.

Might be that the break and gas pedal are fairly close to each other on the Avensis.

Heel toe only works on sports cars. The pedal spacing, throttle response, and other factors won't allow you to do it as properly as it should be , thinking you're doing it wrong when all you have is the wrong car

How bad of an oil leak is this?

Doesn't look horrible. What year/model? How much do you usually have to top off per month? Looks like it could be the rear main...

Could be. Check valve cover gasket first. Sometimes oil dribbles down back of engine, along bell housing and looks like a seal leak.

/pol/la/k/ here. I'm 32. Drove the same hand me down explorer since I was 19. Loved that thing. Traveled to Canada and back in it. It was such a little trooper, but she finally died. Love driving so decided to pick up something that would help foster that love.

Found an 06 base boxter with 83k miles on it. 14k. Just had a tune up. Mechanic said it needs some new brakes (1.8k lolol) and has a very small leak in the water pump (2k w/ a new thermostat lolol). Other than that it's runs like a charm. Never enjoyed driving more than this. First 12 months of maintenance is going to be painful but still, I can't get over how much love I feel for this thing.

>pic related Porsche Cayman S PDK 2016

I got 2 laps around the track riding shotgun in this beast. I nearly shat my pants on the first lap. I could only appreciate the second lap when it felt like my body could finally compensate for the g-force/acceleration.

Nice. Do you bring over your own car(s)?

The driver was explaining how to approach all of the turns as he was doing the lap but I couldn't focus for the life of me on what was being said
>>
>>17600744
Always do, though pic related is not mine.

The blind turns are the absolute fun on what would otherwise be a purely fast and technical circuit.

Honest question; do you feel like Volvo is an enthusiast brand these days? Or atleast; do they produce any vehicles that appeal to the mindset of your typical auto enthusiast

I can understand liking a lot of the previous stuff, but I don't seem to find how any of their current lineup are enthusiast-tier

I dig the new V90, but still; will any of the current cars be remembered as classics, or even remembered at all?

Anybody have/had one of these? How are parts availability? Engine parts? Easy to find replacement auto transmissions? Parts still being made? Don't see too many left in CA and i think it would make a reliable and interesting DD.

>in CA

Goodluck finding one that hasn't been fucking destroyed by a Mexican.
>>
>>17600571
I've been dailying one for a year now.

The few 2JZ parts I've needed were easy to get. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding a used transmission because of how many idiots wreck these, desu.

Bad news is you get 19 mpg on premium and a Civic Si will put car lengths on you. But this isn't a numbers car, it's a fun, comfy DD that happens to be somewhat quick. And the stock stereo is great, just replace the head unit.
>>
>>17600684
did you have to get parts used? any OEM parts you had to get new but couldn't? kept yours stock or some aftermarket stuff due to availability/price/improvements?

19 mpg is pretty horrific with today's standards, is premium 91? That's the highest available in CA I think.
