Insurance. Honestly, "useless" back seats are perfectly fine if you're just making a short trip and need to bring a third person along. The only *truly* worthless backseat I can think of is the BRZ/86.

I've driven kia's and they drive like shit and feel cheap on the inside. All gookshit is worthless.
