So one of the most liked people on this board bought his new car, a 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
He bought it for $45,000. When the car came out 10 years ago it cost about $127,000.
Are there any cars that you're interested in that car now coming into affordable value?

a used Lexus LS is better in literally every single way except for turn in.
/o/,
I own a 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS N/A LS3 with a few bolt on mods done to it and I had planned in camming it this summer.
Now, some of my friends have been trading in their sports cars for slightly more luxurious and powerfull cars and it made me think. That feeling of new cars. I started looking around and I spoted a few used N/A Mercedes C63 AMG. Now the thing i'm worrying about is maintenance cost, insurance cost and if its that much more powerfull than my camaro (cammed). I cant seem to find any spec sheets online and I'm guessing the Power to weight ratio on the C63 is kind of shit.
You guys have any input on this?
Pic semi related. My first car on the left and my camaro on the right when stock
i got my ass handed to me on the touge by an old guy in a c63 amg black, only thing that let me stay sorta close to him was that we had to pass traffic every once in a while. looks like a fun car
Curb weights :
Camaro SS 2010 3,750lbs
2013 Mercedes C63 Coupe 3,924Lbs
HP/TQ
2010 Camaro SS (stock) 426/420 (now approximately 500/??)
2013 Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe (stock) 451/443
Now the Power to weight ratio would be
8.80 Lbs per HP for the stock Camaro and 8.7 Lbs per HP for the C63
With the actual mods the ratio drops to aprox. 7.5 Lbs per HP for the camaro and with a good cam + push rods + valve springs + rocker etc etc my research seems consistent enough that I am capable of easily getting an extra 50 to 60 HP out of it. Which would put me at aproximately 550hp, dropping me to 6.8 Lbs per HP in the camaro.
NOW I am only speculating a lot of this. I am no engineer and no mechanic. But to me it seems like the power to weight ratio still favors the camaro right now. But i've also heard of people reaching stupid numbers by just going straight exhausts and retunes on C63's (something like 552 on a wagon C63 I saw on youtube with a simple exhaust system and tune).
Explain to me why I'm a dumb fuck and why I should still go get the C63. (I'd still want a Corvette more but the C63 is a fucking charm to drive I heard)
BAMP
Sup /o/ld friend.
Looking to pick up a fairly cheap daily. Spotted a 1999 Camry with a 5 speed, 4 cylinder, no rust. Mileage is pretty high at 245k. Should I just pass on this thing?
Ad indicates that the owner has kept up on maintenance, replaced timing belt, water pump, replaced both front brake calipers, routine oil changes, etc.
So does anyone know about the 2.2 liter in these things? Should I be looking into anything else on this thing?
Also before anyone says, I usually wrench on European cars. Owned a slew of VWs so I know all about shit breaking on cars.
whoops, pic related. Essentially the exact car I'm looking at.

He at "yes"
I says "yes" to his bet
Who is right. Did benty continental ever come or be optioned with a rotary engine. I said no because logic. What 5000 pound car be made with shit rotary with no power and high Revs.
>>14189280
i'm sure bentley absolutely would make you a custom built rotary powered one if you threw in an extra $200,000

Chevy premieres production Bolt with 200 mile range
With a claimed range of over 200 miles (322 km), the Bolt US$30K price (after rebates) will slot into Chevrolet's lineup below the hybrid-electric Volt.
Chevy says that room to seat five people is possible thanks to a 102.4-inch (2.6 m) wheelbase and its van-style roofline. There's also folding seats, and more bootspace than a Honda Fit or BMW i3.
i want electric cars to supplant boring commuter cars that have cvts so there will be more gas for the manual guys
Literally a Honda Fit with vacuum cleaner motors and a body kit
>Shitvette BTFO by Snek
Somethings not right.
The Viper ran a 1:28.65
The C7 Z06's time in the pic is the same as the C6 ZR1's
When did they start running 2016s?
There was a magazine by Motor-Trend listing all the cars they ran for the 2015 Driver's car of the year and it showed the 2015 Z06 much higher than that. (i wish i had screen capped it)
Both of these cars seem like their running slower times than they should be (i know the viper is)
Thanks for the vid update. Two amazing American sports cars that demolish GT3's. The ACR is going to be a legend. Beautiful car.

Should someone work under the car like this? (Brakes on etc)
yes or no?
Add some wheel chocks and I don't see why not.
>>14188981
no issue doing this, makes it easy access. If you do fluid changes, the vehicle needs to be level to drain properly.
>>14188981
Safer than using a floor jack. At the very least the sidewalk won't collapse on your head.
I suppose it could roll.......but as long as you're not parked right on the edge of the sidewalk, it'd have to roll pretty badly......in which case you're probably fucking something up or your car's about to quit life anyway.
And now for the greatest debate...
Countach or Testarossa?
Testarossa looks infinitely better
Countach is silly looking.
But Ferrari is Ferrari, so I'll go with it anyway. I can at least respect how bonkers Lambo is.
Countach looks awful
Testarossa isnt exactly great but it wins
