My friend is offering me an 89 240sx shell for $400. It has the ka24e motor with it but needs a head gasket. Would I be able to buy it for $400 and then flip it for more selling the shell and motor separate or just part it out?

Have you guys seen pedestrians start to use the street when there's a sidwalk on the road right next to them? I'm starting to see this more and more often and wondering if you guys have any experiences with this.

I live in Baltimore and there are billboards up about pedestrian awareness since its such a common occurrence. They try to paint it as the drives fault, the one I can remember reads "pedestrians don't just walk away" and has a picture of an old white guy with tire tread marks across his face. In reality its junkies who just dart into the street across four lanes of traffic.
I was coming down a 4 lane section with a median and there was a dude with his wife and two kids (all looking rough). I'm coming down at a decent speed and he starts bolting out leaving them behind, I laid on the brakes and luckily he stopped before I hit him.
I've replaced windshields with weave hair stuck in the impact crater.

I have recently picked up a 88 civic which has the OG cassette player. It works and all but I wouldnt mind upgrading the audio. I dont want to ruin the looks of the interior by putting some flashy unit in there.
Is it possible to keep the cassette player and maybe hide a headunit in the glove box or something?
Maybe even run a aux to a amp to the speakers?
Any ideas would be nice :)

Looking for a new car
Narrowed it down to the following five that are in my price range;
2013 Suzuki Swift Sport
2013 Honda Jazz Si
2015 Renault Twingo Dynamique
2011 Skoda Fabia vRS
2009 Abarth 500
Anyone have any experience with them? I'm worried about the reliability of the Skoda and the Abath, both would be around 40K miles.
My Clio 197 is becoming increasingly more expensive to keep on the road, and I'd like to start saving a bit more money for the future. It has to be more efficient than the Clio, don't really want anything that much smaller either. Performance isn't my top priority right now, but I wouldn't mind something that was still reasonably fun.

How does /o/ feel about the Honda Civic G23 VTEC engine swap? I have the technical knowledge to take it on, but i am not familiar with the pros and cons / biggest challenges of the whole build. I was planning on putting it into a sixth generation Civic EX.

Well one of the biggest cons would be weight. I believe those are the heaviest 4 cyl engines that Honda makes at over 500lbs.

Yeah, nothing happened. Too old they didn't qualify, too valuable and no one turned them in for lol $2000. People still buying into the myth of clash for clunkers.

That said, there probably will be a serious financial issue in China within the next few years, and if you haven't already gone full retard with your finances, you should hold off on that for about one more decade or so.
Also be sure not to live in California or anything, because when the market tumbles in China, they'll show the world that wonderful high-tech military they've been building.
And if you're worried about them coming to take your cars, there are probably far more serious matters to be concerned with, like the police basically becoming Army Lite, and standoffs becoming RPG battles.
