direct vs port injection vs carbs

Holy shit are you a time traveler?
Direct + port injection. Ask Toyota.
Or Subaru since Toyota taught them
>>14186823
port injection is best. direct injection complicates the engine a lot for a small gain.
I just put limo tint on my car, would I get pulled over for having it that dark
>Legal limit 20% in the back and 35% in the front
I have tint that looks illegal because of my black interior, but I always but my windows down if I get pulled over so they really don't notice, but I have been asked about it before, never ticketed
How about you google it dumbcunt.
Tint laws differ from country to country. But tell you what, since you're a dumbfuck enough: yes and its a $250 fine
>>14186701
depends on the cop and your state
if their just trying to meet their quota, you bet your ass they will
What does /o/ thinks about golf 2?
Imho that's pretty nice youngtimer, probably gonna get one in near future. Tbh I'm tired of driving Daewoo Matiz.
I puked a bit just from a glance at that picture.
Living in eastern Europe it's the only car you ever see.
>>14186868
But if everyone ridin' it, it have to be good enough, right? At least better than matiz
>>14186877
I don't know, we used to import them from the Germans when they were like 20 years old which was good enough for us.
It's the European version of the shit box, easy to fix and simple to maintain.
If you get a good one, you'll like it (not in that colour for God's sake).
I've been driven in it, but was lucky to spend my childhood in an Opel Ascona and a Mercedes 190D.
My picks:
F-Body (look at the engine bay)
Audi A4
Celica All-Trac
Jaguar XJS V12
Boxster/Cayman S
Mercedes SL55 AMG
300ZX twin turbo
WRX STI
DSM/3000GT/Stealth

Holy shit why are the strut pillars so big?
Every day I'm gladder I got a foxbody
>>14186463
Not even to mention the spark plug jobs towards the back are hard as fuck to get to
3rd gens aren't as bad as the 4th gens to work on. You actually have a decent amount of room.
how do you import these things
>>14186146
With a big boat
Canada
>>14186146
have some one in japan sell it to some one in canada and then have them drive it over and sell it to you
Why import from Japan when you can just buy in Canada pay the 2.5% duty at customs and drive home?
Because they no wut they got eh?
Because Canada be drivin in salt.
And Canada be drivin in ice
Which means salt and ice Rahway
Now Rudy get your education
Get it on that rust
When rust come it don't go
And oceans salt and water and ice and salt mix. And melt. And stay. And rust.
And the pizza is in kilometres a hour there. Not mile per hour
Op is a idiot
>>14185931
Because Canadians get the same cars you do...
There's nothing special to bring over the borded unless you're a big fan of rust. Can you import from Japan to Canada (15yrs rule), then bring it to USA without the 25yr rule applying?
Someone, somewhere got up one day and said "This is a great idea!"
Still faster than a Miata
>>14185466

Its styling looks like a subdued attempt to hearken back to the sedans of the 1930's.
When do I know when my leak is too big for a porable leak sealant?
I have a leak in my radiator and its fast enough that i can see the water running down the reservoir and poring out the bottom of my car.
I want to get this done quickly and cheaply so if a jug or two of sealant will work then I want to use it, but if it wont I dont want to waste my time doing it.
>>14185376
Get new radiator
That shit will fuck your matrix, thermostat, pump etc.
It ain't worth it m80 88e
>>14185406
The pellet kind will. The liquid kind is ok, I've heard.
But either way, that leak sounds serious. I don't think any amount of stop leak will fix it.
Keep using that shit and say goodbye to your heater core faggots.
What do you think?
>>14185128
Depends on the model. Older ones aren't really any worse than other cars from the same era, newer ones tend to be kinda overcomplicated to fucking impossible to work on.
>>14185128
Probably. But once you master them you can work on a broad selection of brands e.g. VW, Skoda, Seat and Bentleys
>>14185157
Thats why I have a local tuner shop take care of mine. If I had to go to a dealer I would never own an Audi or VW ever again
>I was a Senior in High School ('78) and actually went to the Library and read every article I could on the upcoming Indy 500 Race to be Paced by the 1978 Corvette...it was the Silver leather interior that struck me as amazing. Just a few months later (July 26th 1978) I started selling Corvettes and the rest is history (over 3,500 Sold so far). I have owned 15 Corvettes over the years including ... In no particular order '59, '61, 3 '88s, 2 '92's, '93, '99, 2 '05's, 2 '06's , '14 Z51 and now a '15 Z06 Cpe. Our kids have been pictured in front of many of my 44 Musclecars and 15 Corvettes that I have owned over the years but it still doesn't beat my wife's involvement with Corvette's. Included below are pics of her parents in their 1957 Corvette on Daytona Beach when my Mother in Law was pregnant in 1960 with my wife. Enjoy some of the pictures from years ago and feel free to share pics and stories of what got you started Driving America's #1 Sports Car. 38 yrs of selling Corvettes and the ride has been great, hope you enjoyed what I shared from the past many decades of my Corvette involvement.

trips don't lie.
I am currently driving a 2007 Ford Fiesta, 69 hp, 1,3 L. I like the car but I want to upgrade in the future.
I am prefering the Ford Fiesta 1,0 l EcoBoost with 100 hp.
I live in germany and could buy the new car for 12000-13000 €.
So, I see alot of you guys hate Ford and their cars. Please tell me why you guys think Ford (Fiesta) is not worth the money.
>>14184674
Nothing wrong with Ford m8.
You look after a Ford, it'll look after you. All that shit about reliability is nonsense.
I've only used a newer Fiesta as a rental car, but it was probably the worst car I've driven. It was an SE, with the 1.6L NA engine and dual clutch auto. The engine was fine I suppose, but the transmission felt like it was going to break at any moment. Really rough, lurching acceleration whenever you started from a stop or tried to accelerate quickly. The interior layout isn't my favorite, and the passenger has like no leg room. The center console intrudes a lot into their footwell.
I'm sure the 1.0L Ecoboost and a manual transmission would solve a lot of the problems I had with the car.

What Ford shills get paid to beleive
Brake thread.
Discussion for high performance pads, rotors, and fluid goes here.
It's time for me to replace my brake pads and I was wondering what you fags thought. I am trying to decide between EBC Green Stuff ($128) and Hawk HPS ($137). Also I will be replacing my fluid with Motul RBF 600 ($19) and having my rotors turned/resurfaced. My car is a daily driver that I autocross a couple of times a year. The cost difference for a full set of pads isn't really that much so I am asking for your experiences, opinions, and anecdotal evidence.
ITT opinions of what works best on their specific caliper, rotor, car weight, and driving habits.

I have been doing some more reading and it seams I should also consider the Stoptech street performance brake pads ($106).
Convince me not to get pic related.
Why? It's a nice little car.
get fiesta u niggnog
So /o/ is full of autistic bench racers and we constantly have threads where we post our shitboxes. How about we combine bench racing with posting our shitboxes? Here is what I have in mind:
1. Post your shitbox(es).
2. While posting your shitboxes think up a category for it to compete in and post the most important specs about your car for that category.
3. When we have at least 3 cars competing in same category let's leave it to /o/'s autistic bench racers to decide who has the best and/or worst cars in that category.
4. If this catches on let's think up some bullshit prices for the winners.
I'll start by registering my 1993 N/A SW20 to compete in the reverse sleeper category. While it may look fast for someone who doesn't know shit about cars it only has about 156hp with no practical ways to get more power apart from turbocharging or engine swaps (which both cost much more than the car itself) and since it has the 93+ suspension and doesn't have LSD it also handles like shit. However I have fixed the god awful stock wheel alignment settings so it doesn't handle as bad as it used to so it could lose to another SW20 that still has the stock wheel alignment settings.
>5S-FE
>156hp
nah
Also the LSD on the turbo is a VLSD so by now pretty much none of them do anything so don't feel too bad.

We had a bench racing tournament early last year
>post your cars and mawds
>put them in random brackets
>strawpoll vote on each bracket
>each bracket gets more exciting
I can't remember who won though
>the backmarkers at FIA races make more money than you ever will in your life
>they will be better drivers than you ever will be
>extremely rich businesspeople can buy seats in races and crash into the backs of prototypes while you diddle around in your 30 year old rear engine shitbox daydreaming
>all the eurotrash douchebags who race at the top levels of racing fuck more girls than you can fap to in a week
>the one race you will ever get to see is some local shit race where the purse is how much you spend on gas in a month
>the people who wipe down the windshields of closed-cockpit cars see more racing action in a month than you do in 25 years of life
>people who aren't even old enough to drive are already training to enter F1 and other race series
fuck everything
EVERYTHING
>you started in an automatic and didn't learn stick until you were 21
>everyone who was smart enough to enjoy driving from the start has a 5 year lead on you
Tell me /o/, how long does it take for me to become fast?
Go get a law or engineering degree or something and make some bank instead of feeling bad for yourself
>backmarkers and money
They probably have more money than the front runners. The backmarkers are pay drivers. It's the midpack who's making shit for money. Sponsored driver, but not big time enough to reel in the money.
>seeing races
Maybe you should make an effort to travel, you sad shit sack. America has loads of top level racing to watch in many disciplines. Laguna Seca, Sebring, 24h Daytona, Le Mans, Spa, and more are all easily accessible tracks.
