What's a good base car for Shutokou/Wangan-style racing?
It shall perform on the Autobahn, so it doesn't have to turn well, only drive really fast. Good acceleration in the high-speed range also favorable.
Other demands:
-Chargeable thus stable base parts required
-Good default aerodynamics/ not much air-resistance
-Engine-swapable without much effort (if that's how to make it fast instead of just boosting)
It should be as cheap as possible obviously and can be a Jap or European car. I don't like US cars and they're pretty expensive here as well, so none of them.
Also I wonder whether FWD is okay?
My goal is to build a car that can rekts those smug BMW 335 drivers.
Porsche 996 Turbos are cheap atm

VW Phaeton

Budget?
An older 20V inline-5 turbo powered Audi might be a fun place to start. Those things can go up to pretty insane hp numbers.

If you don't like the sound of an internal combustion engine start saving to buy a Tesla.
Fag.
Why would anyone buy a Toyobaru?
Because no factory hardtop/coupe on the Miats. I like both cars and these [eventual] benchracing shitstorms are ridiculous.
>>14207439
To get pussy
>>14207439
Because not in Commiefornia.
Let's stop pretending that all cars are somehow "equally" worth it, we all know that if you drive a car that cant do offroad then you are a woman.
This is just a fact.
Official car ranking goes as follows:
1. Toyota Hilux - cant beat the proven terrorist track record
2. Ford Ranger
3. Jeep
If you drive ANYTHING else you are a cuck. Let me ask you a simple question: What do you do when the world serpent eats the world tree and the Gods battle the titans and all hell breaks loose? You gonna drive on those roads like all the other schmucks? Yeah i didnt think so.
Buy the Hilux now or die, that is your choice.
>>14203396
>1. Toyota Hilux - cant beat the proven terrorist track record
Except it's the Land Cruiser not the prissy Hilux. Land Cruiser >>>>> Hilux

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
FUCKING WHEN???
They will be automated, so its not like they will be fun.
day after you die
Not for literally another century. The technology, infrastrucutre, and the justification for switching to skycars won't be there in most of our lifetimes.
Should car insurance be legally required?
If the majority of /o/ posters actually drive... absolutely.
>>14201813
Liability yes
If someone hits you and they don't have any insurance or money, you guys are both fucked
Yes it should be and it should be mandatory that the state provides it. Ontario has only private insurance groups and it's not unheard of fit for a 20-26 year old to pay 200-600 a month on insurance. It's a huge scam and no one is willing to address it.
It's fucking cold out edition.

Since the old thread is at bump limit and clearly getting bombed by some samefag.
And I'm not even gonna link this in the old thread. Hopefully the thread bomber doesn't come here.

Maxxis 511 Victas suit me fine mate

I listed there all season variant which is good for 50k, proven to have highest skidpagd g's, and has highest quality materials- stay pleb

summer tires have better performance in wet traction than all season. Pilot super sports had the lowest brake distances of any other tire and highest skidpad g's in wet conditions.
Cabin:
2 Door Single?
2 Door Extended?
4 Door with small rear?
4 Door full size doors?
Short Bed?
Long Bed?
2WD/4WD
Auto/Manual
Some reason the internet thinks Regular cab/ Long Bed is the best truck, manual with 4wd. That shit is rare as fuck, and ANYTHING manual + 4x4 costs a SHIT TON.
I have a Regular Cab work truck ('02 Sierra), and it just sucks. Really. I wish it had at least 1' behind the seat for expensive tools or things in general. It would help so much. The side cargo bins are full of HVAC stuff. The bed is for big parts/ materials, the roof is for ladders. It's definitely not a long bed, but it's a good size.
I'm thinking about getting rid of my jalopy SUV and getting a 4 door pickup with a short bed. Some reason this setup is like, heresy on car forums. Just cause something has more doors doesn't mean it's a family hauler. And even those little 4' beds on the S10 and Toyota pickups were great, you just leave the tailgate down, and strap up whatever hangs off. Not that the Ridgeline or Explorer SportTrac were good, but it's plenty of truck.
2 door single
short bed
either 2 or 4WD are fine
manuel
crew, 72" bed, 4x4, auto
>Some reason the internet thinks Regular cab/ Long Bed is the best truck, manual with 4wd
Maybe on /o/, in real life hardly anyone would want that which is why hardly any were/are made
>>14207244
>Best daily driver
Regular cab short bed 4x4 manual or auto is fine as long as the trans is stout
>Best for hauling
Crew cab long bed 4x4 same trans requirements
OP I bought a manual 4x4 V10 Ram 2500 regular cab long bed for $1900. The clutch was out and the front of the frame had some rust but I was using it as a parts truck so I didn't care about that. Funny thing is when I posted about my project on the Dodge forum a few guys didn't think they made the 2500s in reg cab long bed kek so they are rare. Pic related
What did you do to your car recently?
What do you plan to do?
I had to replace both radiator fan motors.
Had to replace the top radiator hose and I poured mineral spirits in the spark plug holes and let it sit overnight.
Painted the impreza trunk and roof a couple nights ago, doing the rest today

So my brother took my car for first time ever to pick up something and come back at 7 PM when I was out.
He called at 4 AM and told me that he had a little accident, just seen the car yesterday.
Any haves any idea of how much that would be just in parts to fix it? I want to know if the insurance might fix it or not and they'll have the response in 1 week. :/
>>14204527
I can see frame damage from here. You'll have to fight your insurance to not total it.
You need to beat the living shit out of your brother.
>>14204544
Agreed with this anon your insurance is gonna declare that shit totaled. Fuck your bro
>>14204544
i even have to arrive at the accident before police to say it was me because he was on alcohol, but was too dark to see any damage at all, thought it was less.
Hope the insurance not total it, because the market price is shit I think :/
Thinking of getting a 2008-2010 BMW M3 or C63 AMG sometime this year.
I got my eyes set on the m3 more.
Opinions, thoughts? which one is better for that year. Reliability etc tell me everything wise /o/ bros.
Price is 60-70K which is what they go for here in Australia for this year
>>14202933
what the fuck is that pic
>>14202933
I stand for the C63: more exclusive, more elegant, and above all that insanely good AMG engine
>>14202958
You're. Only right about the engine. But every venezuelan high school senior in america has a c63
Opinions on haggard garage? multiple people (grown men in my eyes 20+) look up to these kids, everyone is starting to say

am i wrong for thinking its weird?

Mint thread bruh
Dude, they're mint.
I say mint because they say it a lot in roadkill so I picked it up. Haggard is trying to be like roadkill with shitty rice rockets

Can /o/ redpill me on BMWs? Are they unreliable overprices trash or actually very nice cars?
>>14200414
I have a friend at work with a modified 335I and they're fine cars. Just everyone knows a person who has a horror story about their personal experience with a BMW, and very expensive fixes with german company prices are typically much higher than domestic here state side.
My friends 3 series has a clutch that slips but that's because he's a shitty driver and ruined the stock clutch lol. His last 3 series was wrecked but I believe it needed an underdrive pulley and it was some outrageous cost for him to get anyone to do it.
According to /o/ BMW owners they NEVER break down, as long as you preemptively replace parts right before they have a chance to break
I have a 2007 328i with 90k miles. Worst thing that ever went wrong was a bad ignition coil. Take care of it and it'll go for 250k without breaking a sweat.
