I drive a 1996 volvo 850 platinum edition. pic related. Anyone else into the volvo life?
I drove a 1997 850 wagon, I loved the interior so much and it had a nice strong v5 engine. Pretty fun to drive, fairly quick for a wagon too. It had too many miles as well, close to 300,000so all the suspension parts were going along with the radiator. Ended up junking it but loved it for the time I had it
>>15658214
they are known to go well over 300k was it a turbo? my suspension is in dire need of a change due to lowering springs and stock struts

Nigga you from TN? This car looks familiar
will an electric car ever handle like its petrol cousin on the track?

Yes, if it can hold charge long enough
How do you feel about the demise of the internal combustion engine?
Had a good run, will be decades before we even see alternatives make a dent in overall ICE numbers
>>15658020
This, production will take a long time to ramp up to meet demand. If and when an affordable patent free battery tech develops.
>>15658006
leaves the normal cars for enthusiasts to enjoy and at the same time the planet wont be fucked over as fast. sounds like heaven to me.

how do you get a car to survive that long????
>the car was not manufactured by an American car company
That's why it lasted so long OP
>>15657603
change the oil and other fluids on a very strict schedule. don't drive it like an asshat.
>>15657603
pretty much what the other anon said, just do basic fluid maintenance, replace filters when needed, replace pads/rotors when needed, etc. Honestly you people that live outside the salt belt have no clue how good you have it. Where I live few cars make it past 150k before getting scrapped due to severe rusting problems. It's almost pointless to be diligent about maintenance when you know the damn car or truck is just going to fall apart around the still good running engine and trans.
Do you guys like Celica? /o/ is all about MR-2 but those are waaay more popular where I live. Is 4wd worth anything on less than perfect roads?
>>15657289
I like celicas.
But corollas are much better cars all around.
1977 liftback or get fucked
I think celicas look awesome, i really want one, been looking at 03 celicas but i've heard they have some issues with oil burning. Also demand for celicas is pretty damn high where i live, i remember seeing a 03 celica gts on craigslist that got sold literally a couple hours after being posted.
what does /o/ think of Spoon engines?
>>15657185
I think it's missing a few pistons
Yeah nah, Knives are better
>>15657185
I think it's missing a few spoons
Looking to buy a used, manual car to learn stick shift on and put aftermarket shit on
Found a pristine 97 Legacy GT with 97,500 miles on it, bone stock barring the sound system and KYB struts. He was originally asking $7000 for it but he's since dropped the price to $5750 and now its at $4750.
Thoughts? Bluebook is around $2500 even in excellent condition so I think I'd have to talk him down even more
Pic related is it
>>15657179
I would say you'd have to talk him down more, especially co soldering he sou D's like some fag that's trying to get his money back in the system and shocks
>>15657188
Apparently he only put the sound system in, the struts were replaced by the previous owner. I'm guessing he's putting a lot more value on its condition than what it's really worth
>>15657230
He definitely is if he thinks he can get almost 2k over book, what market do you live in because if Subarus or AWD in general is in demand that'll influence it too
Because I'm tired of waiting for someone else to start the thread.
Why are you home alone on a Friday night?

I was half tempted to myself, but everyone knows it's up to tripfags do host the party.
>Why are you home alone on a Friday night?
Less than $200 in my account and I have bills to pay.
>Why aren't you out cruising to the meets with your bros or >gf?
Haven't had a steady since HS. She moved to California and I stayed. She calls from time to time to check up on me. Haven't seen her in 5 years now.
Don't dare leave the house and risk getting pulled over. Have a warrant out for my arrest.
>What are your car-related plans for the weekend?
Going to repair some rust and paint some bondo. Afterwards a full detail on my uncle's Volvo and then my van.
Trading work for a couple deep cycle batteries. Should be moved into my van by Tuesday.
Have a few interviews lined up next week.
Until then, I'm going to drink some black velvet till I pass out. Probably run out of BV before that happens.

Also most cars can be hacked, especially the MyOnLinkStarFordTouchLTE-WIFI ones
They offer discounts to use them. If you really want to rage the government has proposed using trackers to tax people based on how much they drive their cars.

What I wanna know is what happened to Keanu?
Is mandatory car insurance not a thing in the U.S.? Here and on plebbit I see American high school kids buying convertibles, sedans and muscle cars as their first vehicles. As a youngish (22) driver in Bongistan, the insurance companies will rape you (£2-3k a year MINIMUM, more than the price of a used car) unless you buy a car in Thatcham groups 1-3 (Google it). This means you are forced to buy a shitty, boring, low power hatchback. Not even a Golf or Focus or Civic for you, have an Up! or a Ka or a Yaris.
ITT: Brit feels and our lack of automotive freedoms
>>15656282
You lie to the insurance company. Most American kids are "occasional drivers" of cars under their parent's names.
Most of us non-cucks don't bow down to our Jewish orverlords and fork out our hard earned government dollars for "mandatory" car insurance, instead we simply drive and follow the law so a cop would never pull us over asking for "license, registration, and proof of tribute to Mr. Noseberg please" oh wait they wouldn't say 'please' they would just have you at gunpoint.
>>15656282
Wait, is this in London or outside and further north?
Should I buy a Audi A5 (170hp)or BMW 2 series(184hp)?
both 2014 models

Why would you do that?
>>15656204

Wew lad
Wasting money on a B6? Or is it a "spec" motor?
A BP6D with a MS3 (for the VVT control) will make more power than nearly any B6, and crush it on torque everywhere. Hell, a run of the mill HLA 1.8 from the NA miatas will beat it everywhere.
And why does a motor that deems a Gates Racing belt necessary not have a coolant re-route?
