Hey /o/, I'm sick of driving my piece of shit Camry, and there's a beautifully maintained Taurus SHO that's really close for $1000.
>beautiful leather interior
>5-speed
>2 owners (current is an old lady)
>156k miles
The problem is, there's a pretty loud knocking noise. I've been browsing forums and people have plenty of solutions for it, most are pretty cheap, and then if that fails I can just buy a new engine for $200.
Do you think it's worth the money / work? I don't want to end up with another piece of shit.

>and then if that fails I can just buy a new engine for $200.
I highly doubt this. It's a rare engine. It only went in Taurus SHO's.
>>15661394
>beautifully maintained
>engine knocks
One of this is unlike the other.
>>15661394
The engine is great, the rest of the car is late 80's Ford.
Figure it out.
ty. former gen 2 owner.

Pls help, is there some great handling, decent powered new car for under 30k?
>>15661141
>Miata is a meme
and this disqualifies it from buying because?
>>15661163
Lets be fair, I don't like miata's personally.

What brand ages the worst?
I'd say Cadillac
Even 2015 escalades are aged a bit
>>15660843
>What brand ages the worst?
Almost every brand?
>I'd say Cadillac
Like I said, all brands age.
>Even 2015 escalades are aged a bit
It sit's on an all-new platform of the Chevy Tahoe but I don't think they have aged. Also if you are calling the body-on-frame aged, you might be a retarded soccermom that likes a fiat corssover.
AMC

Aged a bit? In what way? Maybe an 08 escalade has aged. In the real world, a 15 escalade is still a new car to me.
How would you like to see this drive over and past you. (maybe not past)
Electric TEB-1. measures 22 meters long, 7.8 meters wide, and 4.8 meters high. The passenger deck has space for 300 people; 245 standing and 55 seated. The height of the ‘tunnel’ under the bus is two meters.
Also, just a prototype, right now.
what speed is it supposed to go
>when you realize electric self-driving cars are the future and they will most likely ban those loud, dirty, inefficient mechanical engines with quiet, clean, sleek electric motors
It's a bleak future indeed
>>15660564
I wont care...
Untill they make one sub 2500lb with at least 1000 mile range with easily replaceable battery packs.
>>15660564
Why do retards think that the government is going to ban gasoline cars?
Are you reading too much reddit?
>>15660564
i honestly think natural gas diesel and E85 are going to step up pretty soon once we run out of dead dinos. not that i know anything about it though, just an guess
What SUV is this?

Looks like a Chinese knock-off of the Porsche Macan. This company is gonna have a good time.
Is buying a car on craigslist as bad as people make it out to be?
Any recommendations on how to go about it?
Should I just go to Carmax?
>>15660441
It's great if you know what you're doing and can sniff out nogs.
>>15660441
You'll get raped worse at carmax.
Thier "no haggle" pricing is typically 2 to 5grand more that what you should pay.
>>15660441
It's a pain, but the solution to most troubles is taking the car in for prepurchase inspection at a shop you trust. You could do 20+ PPIs for how much money you would lose buying from carmax.
>buy car
>low-ish miles, good condition
>pull ABS fuse so odometer never moves
>drive it probably 50,000 miles over 3 years
>only do the oil once, only other maintenance is tyres
>refit ABS fuse so all is well
>sell it as 'genuine low miles'
>get a handsome amount for it
:^)
>>15660348
Noice. At least the buyer is so retarded not to do a VIN check that they deserve it.

A few vehicles are still produced with straight-8s.
Where can i find one to pull the mythical straight-8 from it's prison? Wiki claims they're mostly for heavy vehicle utility.
Is there any actual documentation of these vehicles?
Why
Just couple two i4's together. Something short like a 4g63

Too hard to seal a single crank with two blocks.
A single cast block would have much more longevity.
Does it impact a truck driver's ability to make a living if he's stuck behind me on the highway going 5 miles below the speed limit for a considerable amount of time?
>>15660115
Doubt they care about 5 mph.
Just don't cut them off in front.
And if you feel like being nice; run defense for their ass end when they want to change lanes.
>>15660115
why is your dumb probably chinese ass going 5 miles under the limit
>>15660156
I always drive 5 miles under the posted limit because I don't want to get pulled over
Why don`t nipps like this?
nobody likes it
its unreliable and ugly why would they
>>15659941
It's a great looking car but in some ways it was dated compared to its contemporaries. The interior had more of a late 70's vibe than early 80's the sohc single point injected engine was old fashioned when everyone else had dohc multipoint and the steering was not rack and pinion making the feel notably worse than sporty cars of the time.
>>15659941

Do you have any idea how rare Starions are in Japan? They have their fans but Starions just disappeared
>>15660006
honestly I think part of the reason it didn't sell so well in its later years was because mitsubishi really stagnated the car.
they pretty much put everything on developing the Galant VR4 and GTO
Sup /o/, I've been offered a s500 w220 merc by my friend for pretty cheap and the car is pretty damn mint, but the only thing I don't like is that it's an auto, so is there a way to convert one to a manual?
Also, merc thread.
>manual luxobarge
>b-but muh race car
>>15659361
Here's a good advice on purchasing a W220 : Don't
These are notorious for the air suspension that will crap out at some point. When the car will sag, and it will, you are looking at 6000 euros.
No.
