What does /o/ think of the Maxima? I personally think 7th gen is the best looking gen for it, just wish they had a manual option on it still. I feel 50/50 on the 8th gens, I love the front of the car but am not a huge fan of the back.
No thoughts?

your going to throw up Lap Times of a 2016 FWD (focus RS) car vs a 1990s RWD car (NSX)
where is the FWD car that can beat a GTR or a Ford GT or Win F1
>tldr FWD a shit
>fwd has NEVER won lemans
Absolutely BTFO
my FWD car ferries me luxuriously to your mom's place of residence every night for acts of nightime affection so i'd say thats a good argument in support of it.

So what, is this an automotive lies thread?
>>15760066
This, I got a header for my car a few months ago. Tried getting the old one off and neither of the cat side flange bolts would budge. Still sitting in my garage since I don't have the right tools to remove the bolts and I can't afford to take it to an exhaust shop right now.

This is me right now, except with a V8
>instructions say 2 hours
>one of the steps in the instructions is lift the engine
>both manifolds are firmly in place
>pray to baby Jesus on every bolt that they don't break
>driver side needs steering rack moved
I'm on day 2 now, about 15 hours. Really fucking lucky I have a $1k shitbox to take to work Tuesday because my estimation of finishing this over the weekend is dead
Why even put the time on there? That's insulting
Perfectly driveable road
A numbered state route, therefore should be kept in acceptable condition.
PennDOT salt and peppers it AFTER repaving portions of it in the proper fashion.
they built a bus lane where i live that gridlocked everyone INCLUDING the stupid buses in a previously well functioning roadway
>mfw the bus lane is on the right, completely empty, while cars and buses line up in the remaining lanes to turn left and everyone is just stuck
they didn't last very long, thankfully

The extent of safety you should have in motor sports.
>Always hear complaints about how McLarens are boring and sterile to drive
>Disregard this as nonsense, especially given it's the opinion of Jeremy Clarkson while also embracing the sentiment that Lamborghinis aren't so much made for fun as they are showing off
>Actually end up driving an McLaren 12C and Gallardo Superleggera back to back
>The Gallardo was infinitely more fun
I didn't see it coming. The 12C is faster and more interesting to look at yet it just doesn't really feel like a supercar; when you plant your foot down it makes no fuss or haste and by the time the car starts to feel fast and throw you into the seat you're way above the speed limit in the same gear you started in plus about 3,000 revs. Even when cruising around you just don't really even get the urge to lay into the gas, it's like driving around a really expensive luxury car that just also happens to be pretty fucking fast.
The Gallardo conversely actually did seem to want to be driven; the V10 is more than happy to produce what I can only refer to as "ear-porn" while fusing you with the seat at a whim. Is it faster than the 12C? No, but it feels a lot faster. Unlike the McLaren I'm spending most of my time looking for excuses just to floor it, unfortunately during the downtime when I can't the seats whose comfort is comparable to concrete was making good friends with my recently torn ACL. Regardless, between the far more accessible engine, better driving engagement (steering/handling feel and so on), the "omg raeckar" interior, the "automated manual" transmission jerking the shit out of the car (pretty reminiscent of me when I was learning to drive manual) in between the V10 screaming this car was just a lot more fun to drive.
Also got a lot more attention than the 12C which surprised me.
Here's what I mean by "ear-porn" (The McLaren down the road is the one I drove earlier in the day)

>you're way above the speed limit in the same gear you started in plus about 3,000 revs.
This is a problem with higher displacement engines like V8s. You can't have street fun past 2nd gear without breaking the law.
>>15759918
I'd attribute it to the McLaren specifically given I was just shilling a 5.2l V10 pretty hard. Depends more on gearing and the specific engine itself rather than its configuration; I've driven and owned V8s that were a lot more fun to drive in real world conditions given the powerbands were far different. On the subject of real world driving, having engines where you need to rev the balls off just to get moving gets a little old.

>On the subject of real world driving, having engines where you need to rev the balls off just to get moving gets a little old.
That's also very true. I4s are annoying as hell once you've felt the power of bigger displacement engines.
Considering a Lexus RX330, what's the general consensus on these?

What if I want 6 cylinders?
Am I insane thinking about getting a 26 year old imported truck as a daily driver? Pic Related.
I've never been into the whole import/JDM thing. It popped up in my search for a cheap pickup truck. It checks all the right boxes for me in what I'm looking for in a truck. How difficult would it be to find parts or someone to repair things that are beyond my limited wrenching skills?

>>15759660
absolutely not those things are fucking sweet and incredibly useful.
dont expect to be able to take it on the freeway though they get scary as fuck at like 45 mph
honestly cant speak to how difficult parts would be to source, can always ship from japan. if its your dd though that would suck waiting for 2 weeks+ to have something shipped
>>15759660
Ive always wanted one of these but could never justify the cost. I mean $5000 for a glorified 4 wheeler. No thanks
I could buy a 4 wheeler with a trailer for less than a grand

Alright /o/, have been looking at getting a used Taurus SHO within the next couple months, what do you think about them? What's good? What's bad?
Have been looking around 2013 model year, around a 26-28K budget.
If you think it's a horrible choice and wanna suggest something else, my criteria are as follows:
-26-28K budget
-used
-300+ hp
-RWD but AWD preferred
-nice options (nav, rear cam, heated/cooled seats, that sort of shit)

Lexus IS
Why the hate? I love working on the panther platform. For had a lot of shitty engineering issues and some design oversights, but these cars are incredible fun to work on. I would love to convert a 03 marquee to a five speed. Most of its fan base are total autistic this I do understand, especially those who buy p71s and think they have a fucking race car when in reality they bought a piece of shut that needs to be completely overhauled.
>>15759402
P71 here
I intend to completely overhaul it because yes, I agree they are fun to work on.

bruv, I aint hating, I love this fucking grandpa car. P71s should have had an increases of at least 310 hp to compensate for the 200+ weight gain.
