My ford ranger has developed a whine when I press the gas, that stops when the gas pedal is released. It gets louder at highway speeds.
Any ideas? I recently had the timing chain tensions replaced as preventive maintenance.
From the engine?
What engine?
Could be your serpentine belt, or something with the new tensioner is dry
Engine is 4.0 SOHC
The sound is from the engine bay.
If the tensioner was dry I'd expect timing chain rattle as it rubs against the cassette, not whine. I think.

video of the sound or is it hard to hear over road noise?

They are newer.

Lol bmw better than corolla? Nope

Looks nice in sedan form. I like featured diesel engines. Especially 330d and 335d. So much torque and nice mpgs
>using snow tires
Are people really so incompetent as to not be able to drive without them?
Is it that hard to control your gosh darn vehicle?
Buy some chains for when it gets really bad or really icey.
t. drives in snowy area, uses summer tires (or all-seasons) all year long
>>15760139
You'll fuck up the longevity of the summer tires if you run them in cold weather.
They'll start to crack earlier.
>Gosh darn.
this is an 18+ website anon.
wtf i hate winter tires now
I did a winter on summer tires because I was poor. I won't be doing that again. Getting stuck on flat ground with RWD sucks. 200 lbs of sand in the trunk wasn't enough. You can get 4 extra wheels and 4 winter tires for most shit boxes for less than $500. Worth it in my opinion.

Station wagons ain't exactly unobtanium, pal.

I feel like my Explorer has 3rd row seating that folds FLAT) is too fucking small, Expeditions are too fucking small, and Exursions and Suburbans are the only SUV's comfy enough to get quality sleep in camping.
Hey /o/
I had a knocking coming from my front wheels of my car whenever I go over any bump in the road and that's a telltale sign that struts need to be replaced. So I did that but the knocking is still going on. What would be any other possible causes? Maybe a tire rod or something?
When I replaced them I just bought some normal complete strut assemblies. Nothing performance

best way to get rid of dents cheap?
does the plunger technique work?
best way to heat up the panel so i dont crack my paint?
>>15755713
Find someone else that knows how to do it.
You're not going to be successful on that dent with a plunger.
Try your moms hair dryer instead of a heat gun, go behind it.
^
>>15755713
Probably could get that out with the glue method, it's got no creases so should be easy with some heat

How hard is this gonna be to get running? Ran when parked with 0 issues. Im gonna buy a tune up kit, new filters, drop tank and use fresh 89 octane gas. I got for a reasonable price ($400), been wanting a crx but this was cheaper. Did i goof or strike midwest bible belt tuner gold? (Illinois kentucky border)
I mainly bought because this thing has virtually no rust and a body so straight a EF civic sedan would envy. Paints just peeling.

Protip no one parks a good running car for no reason

Im not a idiot. I dont believe them. But sounded healthy considering its spent a good 10 years sitting. Hooked up a battery spun over fine.
Halp, /o/, pls. Trying to diagnose the problem on a car. On cold starts the car gets ridiculously low idle and stalls out, but if I keep the revs steady and wait for the car to warm up (generally a minute, or for the needle to get past the bottommost line), the revs don't drop anymore. I haven't been able to notice anything else abnormal, but couldn't figure out what this was.
2004 Hyundai Accent, if it helps. Pls.
Your throttle body is probably dirty as fuck
>>15755135
Change out spark plugs, clean throttle body. Clean intake filter
Nigger every car has to warm up for the engine to work properly, it's fine. Unless you live in a fucking glacier 4-5 minutes should be more than enough for the engine to warm itself up
