Don't be. It's been well taken care of.
I noticed was sluggish on acceleration, replaced the shitty dirty paper air filter with a K&N today, and I was shocked how much the throttle response went up.
Is my motor rip?
Any idea what it could be?
Pic related is the oil, just put in two quarts a couple of nights ago. Link is video of what's happening when I rev. It's a terrible sound, only started recently. I'd check the exhaust somewhere but it sounds like it's coming straight from the motor

Assuming that the price is about the same, would you rather buy a used Limited STi or a brand new Limited WRX?
The STi has been undoubtedly beat on and abused for 30,000 miles, gets poor gas mileage, has a rougher ride and has the old EJ, and suffers from some old-school turbo lag.
The WRX, however, doesn't have the trick center differential, is missing the limited slip differentials on front AND rear axles, comes with heavier wheels, has a worse/mushier shifter, and has to make due with an electrically assisted steering rack.
You're right that STi has had the absolute shit kicked out of it in those 30K, and the engine is a dinosaur.
I would get the WRX, make use of the fact you have a brand new vehicle that has full factory warranty and then when you're close to out, slap a big turbo on her, grab your supporting mods and a tune and laugh at the guys in the STi's. That center diff shift doesnt mean squat. Neither does the rear. It's AWD, my old blobeye wrx that had some mods and was just a cobb stage 2 OTS map, shit all over stock and a couple modded STi's. Get new, and work it into what you want from there. That FA20 engine is miles ahead of the EJ.
Fuck Subaru owners.
Never met a Subarcuck owner I liked. Bunch of try hard vegan fucks
If rather light myself on fire than drive a Cuckbaru

I think you're thinking of VW owners
What car would you buy today if you wanted a dd that you could pretty much drive forever?
The new civic hatchback

I just sold my car on Monday right after I paid it off via credit union ( didn't have pink slip yet). The DMV just sent me the pink slip for it but according to the postage it was sent out on Tuesday AFTER it was sold? Any ideas on what I should do next?
break her in good. bang off the rev limiter for a good hour and then bottom her out
>>15919838
Your situation sort of doesn't make any sense OP. Did you have the title in hand when you sold the car?
>>15919869
No I didn't. I sold it about 5 days after I paid off my loan and it stated it was an electronic only title. So I sold it to a guy (we went through a credit union) on 9/26. I had to show proof I paid off my loan, etc. and I sold the car using the electronic sale paper (I forgot the form #). Anyways, I received a pink slip today and according to the postage it was sent out 9/27 which is Tuesday.
How's the 2012 Yaris for a daily shitbox?
The last of the 3-door hatch :(.
it is a shitbox, daily.
>>15919730
but is it reliable and easy to work on?
>>15919734
Yeah its a good car.
A corolla is better. Seems like you want a tiny hatch tho
I drive a 2001 Mazda Protegé
1.6L engine
127k miles on it
Took it in for an oil change the other day and they said it was fine. I drive all day the next day, it's my job, I drive for a living. I go to Giant Eagle after my shift, and when I go to start my car, poof! Nothing happens! The engine doesn't even attempt to turn over. It isn't the battery cuz it doesn't tick and all the electronics in my car work fine. So I conclude it is probably the starter and left it in the parking lot overnight. I returned today and for some reason my car started right up like normal. So then I drive it around a bit, shut it off, and turn it back on in my driveway - STILL WORKS! Cool, so I guess it was nobigdeal.jpg, so I took it to Walmart and when I come out? Same thing as at GE; doesn't even try to start. Wtf is going on with my car??? Is it a loose wire or something??
Bump for help
Definitely an electrical problem somewhere, I'm guessing it's the starter. Those cars aren't very reliable, used to own one too and eventually it overheated and the piston blew up.
>>15919261
>Those cars aren't very reliable
the fuck? They are VERY reliable. Not corolla tier mind you. But a damn fine car.
>>15919261
I'm going to suggest looking into starter relay.
My cousin is selling a Nissan xterra 2003 for $4,800. It has 136,000 miles on it. He has the title, he will get it inspected, and he's going to put new tires on it. Is this a good deal /o/?
>>15919245
>shit gas mileage
>shit interior quality
>bad nvh
If you don't drive much it'd make a ok DD but if you do drive a lot just get a civic.
If you bought it and had to put a trans in it tomorrow would you resent him?
>>15919303
I hope not but I only have $5000 saved up.
>>15919326
Then no. If you only have 5k to your name you can't afford it.
Discuss.
>Hakuna Miata
Is this like... a throwback?
Or really Hakuna?
Protip: Pistons haven't been perfectly circular for some time now.

I have a '92 Roadmaster wagon and a '96 C280 now.

Why aren't u out at da meats with ur bros or >gf?
What are your car related plans for the weekend?

>tfw havent made a friday nite thread in a long time
>>15919793
I haven't made one in over a year.
Might go to the bar with my brodude. Might not.
'sup /o/. So I drove a Miata NA for three years but I wanted something larger, hardtop, and with more power. Ended up buying a New Edge Mustang GT. Well, it handles like a truck and the interior quality is East Berlin tier, but it's a lot more fun in a straight line and when it's cold out.
So what car should I be looking at now?
-Hardtop coupe
-No larger than Mustang
-Handles better than Mustang
-Good P/W ratio
-Not a shitbox
-$5K or less
widebody miata
>>15919109

Pick one.
02-04 WRX? 90-95 240?
