my catalytic performance reducer is causing my engine light to come on every month or two now. So I will either do something about it or keep clearing the codes every time the light comes on.
How much horsepower is recovered by a Cat delete? Is a worn out one more restrictive than a new one?
I really don't want to spend the million dollars to replace shit that really doesn't do anything for the car.

The 2017 C63s are stunning. I want to buy one used in the future, but I honestly have a feeling they won't depreciate that much. I mean look at them. They're gorgeous. But I'm sure everyone said that in 2011. Will this be the same way or has technology peaked?

First time poster to this board, first time car owner too.
I just bought a 1995 Nissan Pulsar Q. My uncle and I looked over it extensively and found no major problems with the car (including the engine) except for a bit of rust on the back.
However, when I'm driving, I can hear this weird knocking sound. It's like a cross between a knock and a pop. It sounds like it's primarily coming from just below or in front of the peddles (Australian car, so the peddles are on the right), but I'm not sure. Any idea what this could be?
Also, as a side note, does anyone know where I could find a service manual for this car?

So, does anyone on /o/ keep fuel mileage records? How autistic about it are you?
I keep one for my car, truck, and motorcycle. I record date, location, fuel grade, fuel quantity, fuel cost per liter, total fuel cost, trip meter, odometer, mpg, l/100km, city/Highway split and anything of note for that tank. It's all nicely setup in Excel for me.

so, I've been deciding between a cheap used car and a new car for a bit, I have a decent job that pays ok (~2000 a month) and I was thinking of something like a fiesta ST at a bi weekly payment rate. has anyone who has gone from no car ownership to owning a car while living on their own have any experience/advice? I really like the advantages of the tech and MPG in a newer car but the price of payment/insurance might be too much on my finances, especially saving up for school
