Hell /o/, my car has a 1KR-FE engine, it has forged internals and a average piston speed of 18,2m/s @6500rpm.
It hits max power at 6000rpm.
Would it make any sense to modify the intake ports, replace the intake manifold with velocity stacks, increase compression and increase the rev limit?
the way you wrote that post indicates you already know better than anyone here

I can revive the car by turning off the car completely, and starting the ignition.
I've tried cleaning the throttle body with some cleaner, a good cloth that leaves no debris and I've even tried sanding around where the plate sits at rest and it's helped the car stop dying, but today the car (thankfully) died at home, and regardless of how much I've cleaned, the gas pedal still continues to stick.
Any advice, /o/? Should I just replace the whole damn thing?

This Kia can't be KIA until I'm finished with it, unfortunately. Should of gotten that '02 Lancer...
>>16506583
Shitty idling is typically a vacuum or maf issue, if you've cleaned it, then you need to start looking for leaks.
Are older cars actually better or is it just a meme?

Yes.
Anyone here owned one of these? Thoughts on it?
Kind of want but the ones that are sold here are renault badged.
>>16506309
The only thing Renault do to the Duster is badge engineering, ie swap badges. Get the four-wheel drive model so the Duster is a proper 4x4, not just another crossover without a reason to live.
There's no real difference between Renault and Dacia Dusters.
They're simple and reliable shitboxes as long as you stay away from Easy-R and 1.2 turbo engine. 4WD versions actually have surprisingly good off-road capabilities.
Duster is cheap and likes to get dirty. Cool guy.

Why do people prefer the LS1 to the LS2? Is it because of fuel or something?
Been around longer
Cheaper
Light weight
>>16506030
The LS1 weighs the same as the LS2.
They're the same basic engine. The LS2 just has a bigger cylinder bore. And they're about the same price too.
>>16506048
Did the ls2 have an aluminum block?
Hey autob/o/ts, /mu/tant here. Can you guys tell me what kind of car this is?

I am 20, from Germany and it will be my first car. I have held back until now since I am a poorfag student and stingy, but Initial D got to me and I have a big urge to start driving.
Since I live in a big city and public transit is good the car will be mainly for fun.
I am looking for a cheap, sporty and fun first car to learn driving and do basic maintenance myself, preferably it should be a jap.
The problem is: all the sleepers got ridiculously expensive in Germany...a Miata NA for example costs up to 9-10k in acceptable condition if you can even find one.
What do you think of the rx7 fc? I know it has a Wankel, but here in Germany there are non-turbo versions and I have only read good stuff about the reliablity.
Do you have some recommendations? 2-5k max would be good
Just curious, but I will probably end up with a Civic anyways, other cars just seem so fucking expensive here.
>>16505735
shouldn't old BMW's be dirt cheap there? I heard Japanese cars and parts are quite a bit more than the rest of the world.
What's with all the initial d posts lately. Was the series re-released?
>>16505741
This.
Why would you not go with an older bmw? E30 or E34s must be plentiful in then germanistan

I'm in college right now, and my friend who is almost done with training to be a certified GM mechanic and me have been planning our dream vehicle. We both love the 3800 supercharged engine. I have a non-supercharged 02' Buick park avenue because it is reliable an that's necessary for a college student.
But we both have planned that once summer rolls around, we are gonna take our saved up money, buy a used Fiero, take out the 2.8 and put in the 3800 supercharged, he wants to do mods and other things, and we are hoping to get it to push 300 horse. what does /o/ think? I love the Fiero's design, i think its gonna be dope.
Put a bodykit on it
>dream
>Fiero with a 3800
Im glad I will never have dreams this sad
>>16505430
I love the Fiero and fully support people getting them. But I have a few questions
>We both love the 3800 supercharged engine.
why? It's a shit engine design from the literal 1960s that hates making power and hates revving
>because it is reliable
So is the certainty that my neighbor is a closeted faggot
>we are gonna take our saved up money, buy a used Fiero, take out the 2.8 and put in the 3800 supercharged
The 3800 is NOT, I repeat, NOT a drop in engine swap. While the 3.8 can bolt to the Fiero transmissions, it's in a different engine family completely so you need to fabricate new mounts.
>but we want a reliable forced induction V6
So take an LX9 3500 and swap that in. It literally bolts into the stock Fiero mounts, then turbocharge it. You'll break the turbo before the internals considering they have a forged crankshaft. The 3500 is also a much more modern design then the 3800 and has nowhere near as much trouble making power.
And they can make a glorious noise the 3800 just can not match.

Depends on what your definition of a scam is, I don't see anything wrong with this model, America Jr is just implementing what quick lube joints in the states are doing, I'm proud of little bro

My chebby has a non replaceable fuel filter.
>fuel filter
its basically a kind of sock that covers the fuel pick up to keep grit out.
tfw I own a GM product.
