im looking for any help at all for tires, prices, what theyd be good for, anything.
To start off, im relatively a baby in the world of sports cars. (if you even would consider mine as) Id really appreciate any tire advice for buying cheaper tires for my car, that wont explode in a month.
Ive been looking for two weeks calling around local tire shops for DECENT racing rear wheels.
The tires that i had when i bought the car were some high end ones for around 500-600 each. i dont see the need when i was told i could get tires for half of that when i looked around. so the last ones i bought were 100 HAN VENTUS V12 EVO2 K120 260$ from a local trustworthy Pep Boys

Reminder that there is literally nothing wrong with tinted tail lights and they look great IF
>the light is bright enough to still be significantly visible behind the tint
>the tint is done with a vinyl or paint/clear mix that retains the OEM shine of the regular lens
>niteshade is never ever acceptable and always looks like dogshit
>tint on headlights is always retarded due to reduction of light output

You cannot disprove these facts

>if backup lights are part of the taillight, they must be taped over or cut out

sure, let's make it even easier for bad drivers to rear end you but then again people who love tinted tail lights usually love getting it into the ass
>>
Anything can look good if it's done properly.

Problem is, tinted lights are usually done far from properly and as a result look like absolute shit, on top of being downright dangerous.

So I need some suggestions on what my new car should be. This will only be my second car as my first one was a 2000 Toyota Corolla that i've had for 2 years and it had a LOT of problems.

My criteria:
>"swag factor" or brand appeal doesn't matter much
>Good gas mileage
>Not too expensive (obviously)
>Aux support/blue tooth support
>Reliable and doesn't require a lot of maintenance. Car for someone who doesn't want to work on his car much

Any ideas? Someone recommended I get a Volkswagen because they're high quality cars that have gone down in price significantly due to the emissions lawsuit, but I don't know if there's one that would meet my criteria above. Are they expensive with maintenance?

You sound very "normie", but that's not a bad thing. Yeah, a Volks is fine but in the same range you've got Civics or Corollas or even Mazda 3's, all of which will likely be more reliable. I'd probably go with a Golf, GTI if you can swing it.

Very interesting news, so mazdas going to release some HCCI engines for its mazda 3's.

>The differences between gasoline and diesel engines lie not only in their fuels, but in how those fuels are ignited.

Gasoline engines use spark plugs, while diesels simply use compression.

But it is possible to ignite gasoline in an internal-combustion engine with compression, as in a diesel.
The process is known as homogeneous-charge compression ignition (HCCI), and it's a technology multiple automakers have experimented with over the years—but never put into practice in production vehicles.

Mazda is one of two automakers planning to introduce a homogeneous-charge compression engine next year, and expects a 30-percent improvement in fuel economy over a conventional gasoline engine, according to Nikkei Asian Review.

The new engine will debut in the Mazda 3 compact as part of a mid-cycle refresh of that car, although it is unclear whether it will be available in all markets.

It will be considered part of the next-generation Skyactiv family of efficiency-focused engines.

Another interesting snippet from the article

"The compression-ignition gasoline engine technology was demonstrated on the Mercedes-Benz F700 concept, which debuted back in 2007 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

At the time, Mercedes claimed HCCI—along with other efficiency-related technologies—allowed the F700's 1.8-liter twin-turbocharged 4-cylinder engine to offer the performance of a 3.5-liter V-6."

This has some very interesting potential for the future....

A little while ago I got a parking ticket at my university through the city police. Miata?

So me and a couple of friends are thinking of purchasing a $400 jalopy together to have fun and do shit that we wouldn't even dream of doing in our normal personal cars (think firearms and drugs plus a little bit of hoonin').

Has anyone done this before? And if so, is this 5spd manual Pontiac Sunfire worth the $400?
