Fellow /o/tists. Please explain to my /sci/tards why square based vehicles are NOT efficient or worth buying.
>muh space efficiency
>muh lots of cargo space
>it's okay i don't go on the highway anyway
>i don't want a jeep rubicon

because if you don't care what car you by why would anyone else
They're small but you can still fit a dresser in one. They still fucking suck though.
They are actually. If you disregard the front end a good old wagon is basically a box, wagons have far greater cargo capacity than sedans, and wagons usually have the same aerodynamic drag properties than their sedan counterparts, some of them even better.
Redpill me on the 135i. Is it for women?

I was eyeing 2002-2006 E46 M3, but all of them in my area are raped and modified in ugly ways.
The 1xx series at least is newer and less mods.

If you want to go fast, it's a really nice car. Up to 450whp. However it's ugly as sin thou.
I am a new driver. I drive a 2009 Toyota Camry. I live in Connecticut and have never driven in snow.
I am fearful because I don't know my cars limits. How much snow is too much to drive in? It's supposed to snow today too.
I guess what would help is basic driving tips for snow and ways for me to tell if this is way too much.
I am mostly afraid of sliding. And hills. How the fuck do people go up hills in the snow?
Winter tires help alot.
Make sure to make smooth steering, throttle, and brake inputs and you will be fine.
Go hooning around an empty parking lot or something and try to learn how your car acts when it starts to slide
If you have fwd with no winter tires and theres snow, try to get a running start at the hills.
Fwd is just going to understeer so if you cant turn, lay off the gas.
I'd suggest going to a parking lot or quiet street to get a feel of how your car drives on snow.
Just drive carefully and dont panic and you should be alright. IMO its the other retards on the road that you need to worry about.
Rule #1 of winter driving: get hektik
Rule#2: always get hektik

Really regret buying this car, CVT is really lame. Did I fuck up /o/?
What can I do? The CVT is awful :(
Did you not test drive the fucking vehicle? I will never understand how some people will make such large purchases without being 100 percent sure that what they're buying is what they actually want.
Also there's nothing wrong with CVT it's just not what you wanted, which you would've known if you hadn't rushed the purchase like an incompetent retard.

Can I give it back?
Am I crazy, or does this read like an onion article?
https://www.motormag.com.au/news/1603/victoria-police-welcome-mercedes-amg-gle63-s-to-highway-patrol
>At $198,900 the GLE63 S Coupe would never realistically take the tender as a full-time duty vehicle, but Assistant Commissioner Doug Fryer says the mega Merc’s presence is rather to promote safer cars on the road. “Death and serious injuries on Victorian roads could be reduced by a third overnight if everyone was driving the safest cars they can afford.
I don't even see the connection they're implying is there to promote road safety?
I feel like death and serious injuries on Victorian roads could be reduced by a third overnight if people laid off the fucking meth.
>>16652503
>everyone buys big and heavy SUVs
>people in smaller cars are less and less safe
>they also have to buy big and heavy SUVs
>now they're safe
>until the next bigger and heavier SUV comes along
>now everyone has to buy that to be safe
>then another bigger and heavier SUV comes along
>rinse and repeat
What's even dumber is that these big cars have problems with visibility, so it's more likely to have an accident. It's just less likely that the accident hurts you. Instead, it just hurts the people not driving these landbarges even more.
>>16652606
Not to mention people feel safe in the fuckhuge SUV's and drive like cunts because they think they're invincible.
Will a rear passenger door from an 02 or 04 ford explorer fit and function on an 03 explorer?
My L rear window was vandalized and there's slight body damage. I'm going to the junk yard where they quoted me at around $80 for a whole door. So instead of figuring out how to remove and replace the window I figure I might as well take the whole door, but if they don't have 03's in my car's color (they only have four 03's) they might have the right color 02's or 04's.

Are you seriously that fucking stupid?
is it a 2nd Gen or 3rd Gen? any door from the same generation will fit. now fuck off back to facebook with your porn for attention
>2009 Nissan GTR
>46k miles
> $55k firm
is this stupid? i hear they are inanely expensive to maintain due to the glass transmission and booty big brakes but for 55k and Clean CarFax, is it truly full retard if one were looking for, say, a bmw instead at the same price range?
>>16652288
It's a performance bargain. A bit expensive to keep running but that applies to every sports car as quick as it.
>>16652288
might as well spend 25k more for a 2012 with way less miles and better reliability
>>16652291
yeah but i was just trying to rationalize it due to being a nissan/awd/etc i guess. perhaps i was too biased and delusional to justify such a thing.

Could've at least posted the fourth gen, better looking outside and the inside is fucking spaceship tier. Wouldn't call it luxurious though, it's basically just a Civic that's been pulled on length-wise.

I've grown out of my NA Miata and need a new at least slightly larger car. I loved the Miata though
Here are the conditions
>Sub $8,500
>RWD
>"Large" aftermarket
>Not a bitch to work on like a 300ZX
>Cannot be unreliable or have notorious problems, like 240sx or C4 Corvette
>Not too slow
>Manual
>Larger than an NA Miata
>less than say 30 years old
>FUN TO DRIVE
Can be a sedan, wagon, hatch, coupe, vert etc but no trucks unless something cool like Forester 2.5xt (which is AWD though so it's DQ'd)

I grew up in California and I'm consistently baffled by all the crazy shit I read in bad driver threads, so he might be on to something.
People from SoCal and along the coast have no idea how to drive in the snow, though.

Mexicans are the worst drivers in the world, so no.
I had to open the gate at work.
it has a slight incline to get up. when I parked (on said incline) to open the gate I had it in N with the handbrake up. when I took my foot off the brake it started to roll back.
Is that a sign my handbrake is fucked or something? I ended up putting it in 1st gear to hold it in place.
I'm kinda new to manual.
Probably your exhaust
You have to let your foot off the clutch before you turn your key off, so you lock your wheels in place.
>>16652065
Are you fucking retarded?
>lock wheels in place
The handbrake locks the rear brakes against the calipers so the car does not move.
>>16652028
Your hand brake needs to be adjusted. How much play is in it? What is the resistance when you pull it? If you can lift it with a finger you have a problem. If it stops after a few clicks it should be okay. If you have it ALL the way up and it still rolls back then yeah you need an adjustment of the brake cable that pulls the pads to the calipers.
I'm going to this local car dealership tuesday to check out this 97 honda civic hatchback. They want $3000 i'm gonna offer $2500.
What are some common issues with this car and what should I look for and ask about? Can a dealer lie about problems?
Help /o/ i've never bought a car by myself before
pic unrelated
I mean, each individual car can have its own problems due to neglect. I guess check the timing belt/chain, frame, and gaskets. Obviously take a test drive too.
I tested a 95 Cougar that had almost no brakes and a stiff shifter. That fucker was over 3 grand.
>>16652042
I'm gonna test drive for sure, i wish I was a little more knowledgeable with cars, my only day off this week is tuesday and I basically need to get this car that day if its legit. The few relatives I have that are good with cars are gonna be at work when I'm test driving
>>16652027
>Common issues
I don't mean to sound like a dick but it's a 20 year old car being sold for $3,000 so expect some minor/moderate issues. I don't know much about civics but always inspect the car for rust and take a nice, long test drive to see if any issues pop up along the road.
>Can a dealer lie about problems
Yep. And most of them have no idea what condition the cars are actually in, if they have any problems, etc. They have one job and that is to sell the car by any means possible.
I highly recommend investing in an OBD II scanner to read any trouble codes on the car. For one thing, it lets you know if there are any issues with the car and when you inevitably find trouble codes, you can use that as a bargaining tool. A good scanner is only about $50.
Good luck.
Do you think it would be comfy to live in one of these?
>>16652024
fuck yeah it would
No, too angular and metallic. Get yourself a big fluffy camper van.
Depends, are the drugs still inside it?
