>stancefags unironically believe that Paul Walker is a motoring icon bigger than Fangio or Senna
>stancefags actually believe that Paul Walker was Brian O'Connor
Top kek
I mean, Paul Walker was the star of a multi billion dollar movie franchise about cars. To the average person, I'd say he is a bigger icon for car culture.
>>16640650
I think people give him extra credit because he's not a total fucking asshole, despite looking like a Abercrombie model. People expect good-looking people to be unbearable pricks.
>He has a charity
Wow. So does every other celeb with a net worth of 20 mil. He really sacrificed a lot!
>>16640650
you're a retard op
nobody thinks he is a 'motoring icon' because he never raced professionally. however he's a bigger pop culture star than either of those two.
S/o/, I'm about to resell my mother's Fiat 500 and I expect to get about 5500 - 6500 euro from it. I need to buy the bestest fuel economy car out there, due to fuel prices in Italy.
I was thinking about pic related, a 2004 Subaru Legacy diesel, but I cannot reach it with my budgets. Does anybody know any good car to move from A to B using the lest possible fuel?
Fuel economy thread also.

Is LPG a thing in Italy?
>>16640529
Yes it is, but diesel is still superior for doing many kilometers per day.
Anyone drive for these rideshare apps?
Is it worth it? Or is it just a big automotive jew?
Please tell me your stories
It's a scam/jew.

>Anyone drive for these rideshare apps?
Some people make a lot but they have lucrative routes since they have a car that Uber likes and are lucky enough to have a high rating so that Uber gives them better customers.
Uber is a classic example of predatory company selling peoples' hopes back to them for billions of profit. Obviously, the drivers could make a lot more when Uber itself has billions of dollars using cars it doesn't own, using your insurance which it didn't pay for, etc.
However, for people who need short term cash, Uber is one way to get some cash flow to get out of a situation.
Insurance companies consider an Uber car to be a business, so if they catch you doing Uber, they can claim fraudulent misrepresentation on your policy. Fraud laws require repayment of any defrauded amount. So if they every paid out for an accident which was bracketed by your performing Uber tasks, they legitimately can make you repay the insurance even though the accident itself was not for an Uber task. That is legal and valid because your car at that point is shifted into a business situation car.

>It's a scam/jew.
>insurance companies hate it
>you wear out your car

Some people have few choices because they NEED CASH FLOW right now to overcome an immediate problem. If they have to wear their car out or risk losing insurance, they do it. Because there is no other source of cash.
It's a shame they have to make money for such an unethical company as Uber though.
Why are Pontiac GTOs (the 2000's Australian imported ones) so underrated by everyone including the insurance company?
I was looking for a cheaper competitor to the car I was looking at (2010 Camaro SS) and I found one of these
>400 HP
>3,700 Lbs
>muted design
>hideous front end
It's faster in a straight line despite being 5 years older and having an LS2 compared to the Maro's LS3, and the biggest kicker is I can insure the fucker for 1-0-8 dollars a month. For comparison, the Camaro was going to put me in 144 a month, and I pay 118 a month for liability and uninsured on my DD.
What the fuck is going on?
Anybody own one?
Should I get it? I really think I should
Do it ya cunt.
>>16640334
aussie here do it.
Stay away from the auto and get one with low miles
>>16640345
What do you consider low mileage? one I'm looking at has 83,000

hello,
i crashed my fucking car into a streetlamp lol.
pklease tell me what the part in the picture is, what did i fuck up?
it's a citroen xsara picasso, petrol engine. some kind of a filter i guess.
It's a cylinder.
Do you find this on the ground after the crash and you don't know where it came from? Because if you can tell us where it came from someone might be able to help you sooner.
>>16640331
Charcoal canister, it filters out VOCs.
Will 2nd gen WRXs ever become a 'classic' that we can tax boomer-style in the future?
They already have rice tax. How much worse can it get? I see 200k+ miles Bugeyes listed for $6000 or more all the time. Only a car with serious issues goes lower.
Thinking of getting a blob eye.
are these still thief magnets or is it just the one sfrom the 90s that were always stolen?
>>16640336
Everything you're stupid with is a thief magnet.
T. actually owns a car that's so commonly stolen I had to debadge and take the spoiler off mine
What did /o/ this of this? Is it autocore?

With the current world asking for lower displacement high MPG cars for normies, how long will it be until we start to see stuff like pressurized air valve springs into production cars and outside F1 and Moto GP?
We are starting to see the effects of downforce into sports cars, which is an effect discovered and exploited in the mid 80's. And little after that the air valve springs started happening, and little after that the carbon fiber brake discs.
Although considering the carbon fiber brake discs, it wouldn't surprise me if their use is limited to track days and never onto daily drivers.
>>16640048
carbon brakes are noisy and have to heat up to be useful, not very good for the everyday street car.
>>16640057
Bullshit, pal.
Carbon fiber doesn't has to heat up to increase friction. The issue is that the resin heats up too much and the carbon fiber itself goes to shit after 300ºC, Which is MUCH below the temperature of normal reusable steel discs.
>>16640084
brakes operate best at a certain temperature, carbon ceramics dissipate the heat too quickly for road use.

Probably needs at least 600 in repairs at the moment to run properly.
hey, does anyone here hypermile
i try and get the best mpg's they can
i find that my slow ass driving causes others to slam on the gas pedal all the time and therefore kinda negates my 'carbon footprint offset' or something like that.
im an /n/igger with a bum knee so i drive instead of ride a bike everywhere and try and conserve fuel to save money and the environment.
opinions on environment and minimizing environmental impact from your driving as well?
bus stories? anyone have any greyhound bus stories?
years ago i found the twitter of a LA bus driver, i cant find it anymore :(
>>16639699

I drive a 77 F150 and I need some help. I'm familiar with basic mechanics but I've hit a bit of a wall. My rear diff is leaking fluid and i need to get a new gasket for it, but I am not familiar with this particular axle. If anyone could help me out or point out anything else that you notice, I'd appreciate it. I am aware that it's rusty and that I need new shocks, that's next on the list.

clamp the hose on, take it to the nearest dealership and trade it in for literally anything else
>>16639396

You're fine as long as it didn't somehow overheat within a few seconds. Replace your radiator hoses (all of them) and buy new hose clamps, refill and bleed your rad and you're fine.
