I'm looking at buying an Audi and one of the options say "cabin heater/fan" with no more info. Do they mean an engine heater that you plug in with a cord or just one of those things that make your car heat up faster after starting it? Or does it run off the battery and make the cabin actually warm before getting in?

>I'm looking at buying an Audi
Let me stop you right there.
Vw thats not aircooled
>intothetrash
>>16651896
fuck yea time cooked bacon on the go.
Is is possible? Would it be cheaper than maintenance and repair on the stock motor?
>>16651760
>unreliable car with unreliable engine
>somehow manage to make it less reliable
Good job OP
>>16651760
The sr20 is lucky to last 100k and parts are really hard to find compared to a 1980s porsche.
The only reason people use them is because some of them have a fucking kangaroo on the crank girdle which adds 100hp.
>>16651760
You can put any engine in any car. All that matters is how much time and money you want to sink into it.
Does anyone know to get your car stanced and modified and etc?
In seatle

stance is cancer. find another fad to adore.
I mean suspension lowered
So I need to get a new car since my 1995 Acura Legend is giving me problems, the radio barely works, the previous owner bypassed the heater core because it probably is leaking and the sunroof is leaking (I'll fix it next week I found out how)
Anyways I'm looking into crossovers because I enjoy higher ride heights, I'm tired of being shorter than a teenage girl while driving sedans and such. So I took a look at the best in the class (non-luxury) and found that the best is the Hyundai whatever, Mazda CX-5, and the CR-V.
I test drove the CR-V in the EX trim with AWD and loved it: the same MPG as other sedans minus hybrids; AWD for snow and mud and shit; turbo with a quick enough engine to have me merge into the freeway and race to the next red light/stop sign; foldable rear seats for large cargo, I could go on
Its got an MSRP of 28k but I'm not paying anything more than the dealer invoice.
Long story short what do you guys think? Should I take a look at other crossovers or different trims on the CR-V or what?

> You could thank me now
>>16651593
Mm nah no thanks subarus are shit now
>>16651599
Well ideally since you're just now getting rid of the Legend, you should pick what you enjoy driving the most. I personally find Hondas too mainstream.
Reason I suggested Outback is that it's one of the best AWD vehicles, and it's not a car everyone will have.
But the EX for that price is worth it compared to the Outback which is $32k for something similar I think
Best Truck
Rolled it back over...repaired it...still in use.

easy.

no...
Normally a /k/ommando but I need some info Google isn't helping with. These types of engines? What are they called? Honda pit bikes and all the Chinese clones seem to use the same engine, lifan being the foremost. Is there like a family or class these engines are grouped into? Getting one for a Franken bike project I'm working on from a basket case kawasaki I got for 50 bucks. Thanks ahead of time
Two-stroke?
Also, the bike is a 1975 kawasaki km100 but the engine it had loosely sitting in the frame is a 100cc bridgestone, didn't know they made shit other than rubber. Looked it up apparently it's from a bridgestone bs100. Anyone know anything about the market for it? It's frozen up right now but sitting with pb blaster in hopes of at least getting it to turn. No pics of it alone but here it is in the bike
>>16651373
4 stroke. They're ohc as far as I'm seeing. From 50 to 150cc are the most common
What do you think of my welds /o/? It's coming from a hazard fraught 90 amp flux core welder.
Not bad
>>16651338
Good enough. I take it you're not building a bridge here.
>>16651338
what are you gonna be welding?
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Why haven't you purchased a Corvetteâ„¢ yet /o/?
>3x more warranty than any other supercar
>Faster than GT-R for half price
>Pulls more G's than a million dollar Porsche 918
>Looks as good or better than [insert latest model] Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin
>Delicious FI variably timed V8 power
>Honda-Civic-tier 37 MPG
>Dat sweet exhaust note perfection
>Starts at only $50k
By far the best performance value in automotive history ever.
It's good but it's not my style
>>16650862
Because that car sucks balls.
Because it isn't the Worlds Fastest (Volume) Production Car
sup /o/ you see this ? yeah..this is a 2016 Toyota Corolla S, the S is for SPEED. 130 horses of RAW power via CVT front wheel drive, and an auto tranny and While you fiddle with your clutch and trying to shift gears ive already passed you leaving you in the DUST. did i mention I get 25/40 MPG so you v8 fags can sod off...what more can I ask for, I get 0-60 in 8 seconds 1/4 mile in about a 16. Tell me a better daily driver than this...you cant
>still slower than a '07 Rav4 v6
kys
>>16650676
jesus imagine what that thing could do with a nice turbo setup
>>16650676
They dont make an S anymore.
Its an SE and comes with a 6spd manual
On the highway, coming from campus heading to Indy, just driving for the sake of driving on the I74. Out of no where, the car shakes, and I see the traction control light on the dash. Shift into neutral, put hazards on and try to brake, because both the CEL and the oil light came up, followed by smoke coming from the rear (rear view mirror). Brakes were shot, so i pull to the side on the handbrake. Shut engine off, get out car and call a tow truck, thinking its nothing. Moments later the smoke coming out the hood changes density, and underneath the car is bright, we run away to the field nearby. Call 911 because the car was on fire. By the time they came, multiple people have stopped to see if we were doing okay, including an ex-cop just driving by.
So the car is burning at a rate, I've already lost my shit. Gone through 4-5 cigs in what felt like ages, all I can think of is if my friend is going to sue my ass, or if I'm going to get in trouble with the law. Firemen put the fire out, get the car on the tow truck and the towing dude takes it to the lot in case it re-ignites, then we go back on campus to talk to the owner (by then he already heard his car was burning). He goes, "do you know what caused it?" "I have no fucking clue" I say.
Turns out the car has been recalled, he got it fixed (the secondary air pump, 2009 WRX) but apparently that didn't do anything. From now on I'm on the clear legally, we're fine (not a scratch on me or her). The owner was having fun on campus when me and friend were driving; but it all turned out to be "okay" in terms of all the big stuff.
However I realized I have no fucking clue what to do in case something goes this south next time. All I could do was call 911, completely flipping shit to the point where my friend said she was more scared about me than the actual case.
I have no clue what to do in case *anything* happens. (1/2)
(sorry for the flipped picture btw, but its the car on the tow truck after it was all done)
I'm 18, from Turkey with a license that is not even a full year old. I've never had to deal with anything like this before, so I have no clue how to.
My question is, what are some things to do when in an emergency? I know shutting the engine off and getting away from the car was a thing to do, but I don't know if I should have done anything else, or if there was anything else.
If anyone can enlighten me so I don't fuck myself over next time that'd be great because although I'm over it I'm still kinda scared shitless. Won't affect if I'll drive or not (life goes on, had to drive the morning after) but I want to know what to do in case something goes VERY wrong.

don't lie you Subaru faggot, you where hitting your vape hellahard AF making sick vape clouds when your vape exploded and caught your car on fire

>what are some things to do when in an emergency?
put down the vape
That's why you have a fire extinguisher in a car moron
why wont big daddy GM and Ford import ute's into the US? I'm sure they will sell like hotcakes!
>>16650550
No market
>>16650550
GM tried it, and it failed horribly.
The Chevy SSR.
>>16650550
Probably because a ute costs less than a pickup, and most people who buy pickups (to use, not as a status symbol) would be able to satisfy their needs with a ute. This would result in less profit for the manufacturer.
>go to visit distant family over christmas
>they live way, way the fuck out of the way
>im driving
>come to a patch of heavy snow while ascending some hills/mountains
>dad who is riding shotgun advises me to keep the ESP/traction control on
>have driven this very road before and know it'll get us stuck
>sure enough the car bogs down
>foot planted to the floor and it won't give me any power
>we slowly grind to a halt and slide slowly into a ditch
>'WHAT THE FUCK ANON WHAT ARE YOU DOING ARE YOU TRYING TO GET US KILLED???'
>car is pretty much a total loss
>with ESP off it would have pretty much been a rally special stage
Anyone else ever listened to supposedly more experience drivers and regretted it?
One thing I've learned in life the hard way is: trust your gut, your old man doesn't know it all.
Sucks anon
>>16650468
>we slowly grind to a halt and slide slowly into a ditch
>car is pretty much a total loss
I think Junior might be missing the bit where he totaled the car.
>>16650468
More like
>watch one rally stage on tv
>driving on snowy road
>"hey guys, watch this"
>drive too fast for road conditions, trying to look like Ken Block
>lose control
>introduce the side of your car to a snowy ditch
>your beloved shitbox is totaled, as it isn't worth the bodywork
How close was I?
What's a good and reliable AWD sedan for winter driving in the northeast USA?
Many people have pic related, but I'm not sure if it's right for me.
legacy is better
>>16650482
Why?
