Something that always bugs me is when people go that they are essentially humans in a pony body and "argue" that they have little reassemblance to real horses. They're whole body, expect the head, is very horselike in build.

They're based on horses, so you take a horse and add human features until it fits.
Not the other way around. (taking a human and add some horse features because you're insecure about your sexuality)
