Has anyone read it? Opinions?
Thought it was pretty decent and even the twist was interesting (although I saw it coming)
I thought it was a little dry at times but enjoyable overall. I especially like it in the context of Golding's other works, considering his interest in human nature in extreme, survivalist situations.

dry in what way?
yeah I agree, can you recommend any more william golding? So far i've read LOTF, the inheritors and this. Was gonna continue in chronological order but he's 4th book doesnt really interest me, not sure why. But then again if i enjoyed his first 3 books then why not his fourth...

No I dont have any.

>marathoned
You mean binge read?
Can I get some recomendations? I need a book that is explicit/crass/has drug use and has over the top violence. It can be about crime or action or whatever. Something like Clockwork Orange or a Tarantino movie in a book
Thanks
maybe Naked Lunch
House of leaves got its moment. It's more a psychological mindfuck book involving a depraved character but it's still good.

This and a Brief History of Seven Killings,
Otherwise, Hubert Selby or Trainspotting.

Some of his nonfiction yes, but I would recommend IJ first for fiction since his earlier fiction tended to be more show-offy than reader-friendly
But really
>Foster Wallace
was not his last name
Read Oblivion, read Broom, dump IJ
> You will never have looks and literary fame at the age of 27.
JDIMSA
>You will never have """"looks"""" and marketable exploitability at the age of 27

Which of those does this person have?

Alienation and ostracism.
For example, it used to be common to hide your disabled children at the time, much like they did with whatshisname.
I honestly think Kafka was just a little bit weird
He literally turned into a beetle, what's so hard to understand?
write a short story based on this picture (it's a detail)

Who's the artist?
Any Mishima
Notes from Underground
Rhetorical question --why do liberals and partisans of democracy favor LotF?
What support do they have?

Jean Gebser
notable for The Ever-Present Origin
I don't know if I can ask but does anyone have images like this one
Closest I can think of are the Tracer Bullet strips from Calvin and Hobbes.
Is Book of the Long Sun the greatest SF novel?
New > Long > Short
You fucking pleb
>>8300899
you must be kind to other anons
>>8300899
New>Short>Long
Long is too long and as it moves away from Silk.
Wolfe is also not nearly as good in third person.
Short is the most confusing too, I can't get to the meaning of it.
Anyone ever have trouble reading at night?

Yes, especially after working all day. Poorfag struggle man.
>>8300019
No. Right now I am diving into some of the finer works of Arabic and Islamic literature, translated into the English of course.
How do i do automatic writing? Ive heard a lot about my favorite poets doing it, so i googl'd it to try it for myself. unfortunately all im getting are half insane occultists talking about "your third eye" and "the angels inside you". Could i find a secular tutorial for this shit anywhere?
its bullshit. its just stream of consciousness, which is also complete trash. just practice your fucking writing. bozo.
