Takes years of practice (like a martial art)

How advisable would you be able to use a bow in a situation?

Assuming you lived in jew york.

As someone who lives in neutered gun California, it is interesting to note, that when I carry a bow to to the range in Balboa Park, no one's threatened and police don't pay me any mind.
Having used a bow in an outdoor range regularly, it's common to lose sight of an arrow if you miss, and even carbon arrows are prone to damage if you hit something hard. Archery is a cheap practice if you never miss. If you get in a self defense, even if you hit, you might not get your arrows back unless you win.
Still, with practice, a steady supply of arrows, considerable knowledge of fletching and repairing wooden arrows and a bow that can accept wooden arrows, a bow maybe viable. Bows are considerably powerful, and even a low poundage bow is lethal.
>>
>>28438702
What's the lowest poundage you'd recommend?
>>
>>28438731
Most archery ranges start people off with 25 pounds, which includes all age groups. But I have a companion who got off will with 35 pounds. Most people are capable of bending a bow with greater poundage such as 45 pounds, but it's a different story trying to shoot it. So I would have to say 35 pounds to start.

What would be in my packing list? Its me and like 3 other bros as a hunting party. Probably would stay there for a long weekend and shoot a medium size game that is delicious and also could provide trophies.

What do? Help me with the manly arts /k/ommandos.

Safety Orange, some jerky, bogroll, plenty of water, binoculars if you have them, map+compass for when you're out of cellphone land, good boots, ear protection, gloves and other insulatory clothing. A cooler for storing your game and a vehicle capable of going offroad and hauling whatever you bring hack

As for soecific hunting gear, you'll have to ask someone whose more experienced in whatever, specifically, you plan to hunt.

So rafale-chan has been just sold to the IAF. Is this deal another nail in the coffin for the PAK-FA or is that a separate issue?

Also suddendly between Egypt, India, Quatar and the FAF, Dassault has too many orders on the Rafale. I'm actually happy the sales are taking off (UAE is also very interested) as it's a great fucking plane, on top of it looking hot as fuck

I may carry my 1911 more often instead of the Glock, but now I need to get some nice high ride owb leather for it. I'll still have have a cover garment since I don't like the idea of being a ne'er do-well's first target., but it will be nice to not worry about it showing if I have to grab something off of a high shelf.

That's practical. I'm just afraid some dumb redneck is gonna make an issue out of it, the whole reason it's concealable is so nobody knows you have it. Toting it in the open is just asking for trouble I feel like.

How would an actual starfighter work?

What would power it?

A design for both atmospheric and space flight.

Aren't there decades old designs for nuclear powered strategic bombers?

Would turbines work in space because it's not a perfect vacuum?

What about weapons, detection systems, etc?

If we put together the best technology we have right now and made a starfighter, what would it's capabilities be?

Hey /k/

I've decided to put together a bug out bag and need some advice as to which type of combat knife I should buy.

I've been reading some reviews online but I figure you guys know more on the topic, alot of reviewers tend to be idiots.

Im looking for a fixed blade obviously, the longer the better. I've been looking at ka-bars, gerbers, and columbia rivers but there are also many other brands and I dont know where to begin.

Price maximum I'd say 150$.

If you guys can help, its much appreciated.

Combat knives are for fags and autists with some spare money

Most real knife fights are quick and it's all stabbing.

Even "operators" employ the x-treme ancient tacticool technique of stabbing their enemies to death as quick as they can.

You can get a china 5$ dagger that's no longer than 6 inches(I'd say 4 or 5 but whatever) that's a perfectly fine "combat" knife.

Everything else is consumerism.
>>
>>28420219

Well I'd like a knife thats all around useful in the out doors. I figured a combat knife can be used for wood, skinning, etc.

It made some sense back when a surplus Enfield was $12. Lots cheaper than an off the shelf option. Nowadays even beat to shit milsurp is worth something and many cost more than many entry level economy hunting rifles.

M2 Ball out of a Garand only has about as much power as 7.62x54.

If I were killing Mexicans, I'd probably get a rifle in 7mm Rem Mag or something like that and take potshots from a concealed position 800 yards or more away.
>>
>>28440829
Why would you use M2 ball? Aren't modern hunting loads far superior?
