Hey /k/. I recently went to my LGS to shop around and price check. I found that a Walther PPQ M2 fit my hand better than most. (the only better one being a CZ-75, but i have too difficult of a time racking those recessed slides) The only thing that ended up turning me off to this store or firearm is the price of $664 before tax. Furthermore, I found out that this particular store wanted $75 for a transfer fee, which i know is way too much.
So my questions to you would be: is this base price reasonable? If not, what is?
Would it even be that much cheaper to just buy one online and transfer it to a different store with a cheaper transfer fee or would it come out to the same amount?

Try the Jericho.
Huge rip-off on both counts, keep shopping around. The only PPQ that goes for that much is the M2 Match, the rest are around 560 new. Make sure it's the M2 if you get one, they fixed a lot of problems on that model. Transfer fees are normally $25 here. The LGS in my city bank on stupid people walking into the store and buying anything. One of them had an ISSC M2 (.22 Glock clone with no warranty) listed at 550 when you can get one factory new for 250.
Step 1: Pray to Taytay, the one true god at the sacred shrine of Applebees.
Step 2: Check out a different gun store, or armslist, or backpage. It sounds like this one sucks, or at least is intent on making every penny they can off you.
How does /k/ feel about the NRA? I don't know much about them but all I hear is bad political crap about it.
I just want to shoot funs at a good range.

Literally powerless. Their lobby is being cucked daily. All is lost.
I would say, if you don't want to help them by donating, thats absolutely fine.
Just don't bash them.

My USPc's handle got caught on something when I was coming into my house. It got pulled out of my holster and landed on the polymer in the front. It looks fine besides this chewed up spot.
Is there any way I can sand down this rough spot? I think it's overkill to replace the slide. It's a carry gun so i don't mind some use/abuse marks. I just want to get the rough pieces smoothed out.
>>30655657
> I think it's overkill to replace the slide.
yeah probably would be since the frame is the part that appears to be damaged
>>30655657
>Is there any way I can sand down this rough spot?
1. Put on pants
2. Get in car
3. Start car
4. Drive to Home Depot or Autozone
5. Turn off car
6. Get out of car
7. Purchase sand paper
8. Get back in car
9. Start car
10. Drive home
11. Take off pants
12. ????
13. Smooth gun.

It's fine.
If you're freaking out about scuffing some plastic you may want to reconsider carrying it.
/k/, i wanna buy an AR tomorrow.
trying to keep it under $1500 including tax.
i've never owned an AR and only fired one a handful of times.
what should i be looking for?

This is the golden boy of all AR15s. If you own a 6920, you are respected highly among the AR community.
Hello /k/ommandos,
Eurofag here, I bought a very cheap standard ammo can very simillar to the one on the image here.
it is the same as the blackhawks one amerifags get in walmart as this guy says:

My question is simple, if I remove the seal gasket, will the box close kinda OK ? or will the cap be loose?
I don't want to remove mine, it's tighly fitted in the metal and I don't want to deteriorate it.
(I have the intention to build a pc inside of it, but the mini-itx motherboard won't fit if I do not remove the gasket
the mad man in this link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYKaBlbpEBI
filed the motherboard in order to get it to fit)
http://www.mini-itx.com/70987471
the lid will be loose and rattle.

the answer is clear thanks

Should've used a 40mm can m8
Want to slap a system on an AR to quickly switch barrels, but don't like giving up picatinny rails. Are there any other systems which can compete with Dolos in terms of speed, cost, reliability, and ease of installation?

Dont be a cheap bastard. Just build a different upper.

Are we still a based state when it comes to funs?
We still good, but there's so many masshole refugees.
NH is based as fuck. Live free or die. Fuck mass.

What's the deal with the Takedown Lite?
It's almost exactly the same weight as the regular TD, yet has a shorter barrel and thus more inaccurate with no weight reduction. And the Barrel sleeve shroud (the barrel is not actually perforated) looks like it's just a gimmick.
>all those neon colored limited editions
I'm starting to think it's just a meme rifle
>>30654916
>shorter barrel and thus more inaccurate
>>30654989
for .22LR velocity does actually matter, considering the small calibre
Yeah, it's no big effect, but still - when there is no weight reduction, why would you want a shortened barrel?
What would be the best rifle for an guerrilla war or insurgency against a country like Canada or the US.
I would say a battle rifle would be the best, a battle rifle is more versatile in its effective range and you wouldn't really need to carry alot of ammunition because you would try to avoid extend firefights anyway.
>>30654857
>brings a battle rifle
>doesn't even battle with it
Why don't you bring a runaway bitch rifle?
>>30654857
Light, long range rifles preferably with a scope that will let you shoot and scoot. You want something in a common caliber so you can get ammo if things get bad.
Another thing to consider is a pistol in a common caliber, something to defend yourself from a close threat that's concealable.

Canukistan here. Just got my PAL/R. Thinking of getting a Remington 870 for skeet/trap shooting. Please tell me why that's retarded.
>>30654810
Because new Remington kind of sucks, and I say this as a Remington fanboy. My first gun was an 870 and my favorite gun is a different 870 but I wouldn't touch Remington now unless it's one of their high end products, which apparently Cerberus doesn't cheap out on.
>>30654840
I've heard other people say that too. What's a good alternative for sub 500 USD? Winchester SXP?
>>30654883
I'd go for a Mossberg 500 or 590 since I have experience with those, but I've heard good things about the Benelli Supernova. My roommate has an H&R Pardner pump, which is a decent Norinco 870 clone that's only about $200. The same gun in a different configuration is also imported as the IAC Hawk.
Well, some idiot thought it was a good deal to trade me these two plate carriers worth $170-$180 for a Phoenix Arms HP22 and 100 rounds of .22lr. I got lucky. Just need to buy some side plates and...
My questions to you fine folk at /k/, is what plate carrier should I get. I want to get two kids if possible, I would like something without all the MOLLE crap, just something tight fitting around the torso so I can use to conceal the armor under a loose shirt.
Also, what MOLLE type carrier should I get?
....And also these plates are quite heavy (to wear for long periods of time), are there any lighter, but just as effective plates out there? Or should I not be a pussy and just get used to their weight? I'm using it for my armed guard job at a recreational marijuana grow op. I know jack shit about this body armor stuff. Help me out guys in picking out two good carriers and possibly other plates.
>>30654600
>trade me
If I was dealing with someone of your intellect, I'd take advantage of you too.
>>30654600
>some idiot
Those plates are $65 each brand new. It was a pretty even swap.
>>30654642
The pistol was not in the best of shape, probably only really worth $70 max. The safety was fucked up, it jammed a lot, just a shitty cheap pistol.
What boots would/k/ recommend in the sub-$100 range? Have a 3 month old now, so can't spend too much.
Pic somewhat related... Rothco sells these for around 80, but don't want my feet to get hamburgered.
These will be used for backyard operating and occasional range and innawoods.
>>30654510
If you spend any less than about $130 for boots your feet are gonna get JUST'ed
Save up and get yourself some Danners. They last way longer than anything in my experience. Worth the price. I am army with 10 years in and an avid hunter. Not uncommon to cover 30km in a day
Not OP, but I've been meaning to get into the modern boot game too. Just recently taken up firearms as a serious hobby (beyond just collecting surplus) so I'm still new to all this geardo shit.
What are some actually good boots? Reasonably priced, at that. I'm on a budget but I'm not beyond saving up for a few weeks for a quality product. I've heard names like Merrel and Solomon but no idea where to really start looking.
Any news on the railgun's development ? How will it be used ? Railgun broadside when ?
>Also, future military technology discussion thread.
Never thought about a railgun broadside. It would def. require a fuckton of power.
We're gonna go full circle and end up with canoes, or some shit.
>>30654557
>full circle
Railgun-equipped modern Ironclads when?
>>30654615
Idk. I was thinking more of a ship of the line kinda thing.
Might happen when railguns have longer reach/advantageous to missiles, and ships can provide the high power needed.
They're like if a Suomi and MP18 had a sweet sexy love child
Does /k/ like Zavasta handguns? I'm thinking about picking up either a CZ999 or an EZ9
